Hey,
For those that watched UFC #103 last night, you witnessed Junior Dos Santos hand out a one-sided beating to Mirko Cro-Cop.
Cro-Cop didn't seem to have any answers for Junior. He did attempt many head-kicks, but they missed their mark, which I believe heavily drained the gas tank of Cro-Cop.
I mean, he puts so much power and energy into those kicks and they completely wore him out. That's what it appeared to me anyway.
At 2:00 of the 3rd round, Cro-Cop was forced to quit because he could not see out of his left eye due to the damage he was receiving from Dos Santos.
It was kind of disheartening to see Cro-Cop go out like that because he is, without question, one of the best of all-time.
So, I was wondering, do you think after suffering a loss like that to Junior Dos Santos, that Cro-Cop's time in the UFC and maybe in MMA all-together, is finished??
I mean, 3 losses in the UFC so far to Gonzaga, Kongo and now Dos Santos. His only victories in the UFC are over Eddie Sanchez and Mustafa Al-Turk.
I think those 3 losses and the way he lossed them, outweigh his victories by FAR. No doubt about it.
If Cro-Cop does choose to stick around, who exactly do you put him with next?? A re-match with Gonzaga perhaps?? Seeing as they are both coming off losses. It would make sense, but that would be a very dangerous fight for Cro-Cop seeing how their first fight turned out.
It's sad to say, but I think Cro-Cop should seriously consider hanging up the gloves. It's sad seeing such a dominant fighter at one point just keep getting his assed kicked.
So, is Cro-Cop's time done or does he have one more good fight left in him??

I agree. He's not that feared fighter he used to be. Being one of the most dominant fighters of all time has to come to an end eventually. I'm acctually watching his fight with Silva and that the Mirko I wanna see but we knew since he entered the UFC he wasn't the same fighter as he was in pride.

I'm a huge fan of Cro Cop but I have to admit that after last night, it looks like he is finished, at least against high caliber opponents. It seems like the OWGP was the greatest night in CC's career, but it was also the start of his downfall. Honestly to me, he didn't seem motivated after winning that. He said he was going into this fight(to prove critics wrong) but after that performance I'm not so sure.
I don't know what took it out of him last night. Dos Santos(well after that nutshot, Uno Santos), injuries, being a smaller HW and getting outmuscled, lack of motivation or a combo of all of them. But whatever it was, it was certainly not the Cro Cop we're used to.
Seeing him come out in a PRIDE shirt and the trademark checkered tights last night made me think of the past.
But as soon as he got into the cage, I realized that's exactly what it was. The past.

I don't give a what anyone says, that was a pretty decent fight. Both guys were pretty banged up. With that being said....I think Cro Cop needs to go to Light Heavyweight. He is a pretty small Heavyweight and I think may fare better in a new weight class where he'll be the bigger one.

Your wrong bro. Gonzaga is coming off a first round TKO at UFC 102... Yeah, you are right. I didn't even realize he fought then until just now. Was it an under-card fight or was it on the actual PPV? Doesn't matter really. I missed it either way. I don't think Cro-Cop would want to fight Gonzaga again anyway.

After he fights Vera, have Cro Cop and Randy fight.
Instant Money maker, and they can fight at a catchweight.

What catchweight? They both walk around at about the same weight. May as well be in either weight class.

Cro cop, aside from about 6 strong left crosses last night, was completely void of any offense. This is not biased in any way, as I am a big Cro Cop fan, but I've seen him go out and work the same exact game plan enough times and seem it fail enough times to know that his spirit isn't there anymore. He's done, and it's all his doing. If he wanted to use it, I think the talent is still there. The fire isn't.

ANY offense? Did you even see Dos Santos' face? Both of his eyes were swollen.

ANY offense? Did you even see Dos Santos' face? Both of his eyes were swollen. Yea... From the 6 left crosses that Cro Cop threw from bell to bell. There was nothing there, man. HAD it ben there, maybe Mirko could have pulled it out. But he didn't. He fought like sh*t. I like Cro Cop, I'm not talking sh*t. I'm talking as a fan that doesn't want to see him get trounced again.

I think Cro Cop has got one or two good fights left in him but his fight with Junior Dos Santos was a hard fight for him!

sounds like he is done...
if he can't get past the young rising talent in the HW division what the f*** is he going to do if he had to actually face someone like Lesnar or Carwin?
a move to LHW would do nothing. He is done.

I have to agree with the majority here- his time is past. He has a couple of fights left in him, sure, but they'll most likely be losses or, as with Al-Turk, unimpressive wins. He'll most likely be retired within the next two years, IMO.

just hearing him talk on the UFC countdown was kind of uninspiring...he was just like "I will go out there and fight..both of us will try to win but one of us is going to lose"...
..huh??? What happened to the CroCop that would say "Right leg hospital, Left leg cemetery."
I agree with whoever said that the talent is still there, he is still in great shape, but he just doesn't seem to have the same fire he used to have.

I think it was a pretty good fight and I hope to see Cro Cop fight again soon, I think he still has it in him.

You want a 35 year old man who has never cut weight before in his life to make it down to 205? Not only that 205 is a stacked division with fighters faster then those HW. Oh yeah Cro Cop also stated you would have to cut one of his legs off for him to make 205.

What? Cut one of his legs off. He Couture can make 205 easily, Cro Cop can. He is a very small Heavyweight.

From what I've been reading and hearing and seeing his last couple of fights, I think Cro Cop needs to give it up. I'd like to see him face off against Randy just to see how it'd go. However I don't think he has a lot left in him. He's quickly becoming like Wandi and Chuck, out of steam.
