dream please post my Corino...I know Import didn't show but I already told him I would make another custom with the same exact stip for a match with him on the next show..
Anyways for the very few that did show I like all of them.
AxeHennigs Crush- Very clean. One of my favorite gimmicks ever. The paintjob is so damn clean. Everything looks completely symmetrical. Amazing job.
Pest' Mortis- I think Mortis is a very difficult custom for anyone to make. I have only seen two that were just completely phenomenal. The torso is my favorite part. Everything looks clean in that area. But the face looks rushed and the lower half also looks a bit sloppy.
Bio's Steiner- It looks great. I have no clue what parts you used but I think it looks great. The legs look a little chunky and the skintone is a little chalky but everything else is really good.
Dreams Hogan- Very clean, Dream. I love the skintone. The logo on the shirt is very good. The only thing I hate is the bandana..it looks more like a beanie.
Gates Earthworm Jim- Fantastic. Really. Like I would have never thought of him but I wish I had... The head is great.
Bios Crash- It looks great Bio. I would have used different parts completely..but the sculpting is the best I've seen you do. The head could use a little work but whatever..still looks good.
Gonzos Blanka- I really do like this custom. I wish it had more highlights and a wash of light green and some drybrushing of a brown on the nails and to make him have a more gritty look. But other than that I like it.
Deens Wolverine- Deen never seems to surprise me when it comes to how good he is...the kid is insane. 15 with those kind of painting skills...I really like this custom. One of my favorites he has ever done...
Overall disappointing that not even half the matches...hell not even a third of the matches showed up...but hopefully the next one of these has a better outcome..

Sorry for the crappy pics guys. My camera died when I was trying to get the pictures. Not just battert dead, but dead, dead. Take a look at all the pictures. I think I got one good picture for both. And I'm not known for high quality pics even when I used a good camera.

Sandy great head choice for that Corino. If you would have done some scarring on the head and maybe made the nipples a little less disturbingly huge it would be perfect.
Warheart, way to up your game. Great detail all the way through. I see your first competition being a successful one.
No disrespect to Fulgore, this is probably the best work I have seen from MWL.
J already knows that I love that Crush. It's almost flawless.
The six man tag was good work all the way through. GCS's Earthworm Jim is so perfectly clean it's impossible not to single it out as the clear best of the bunch. But all the competitors really stepped up in this one. Gonzo and Sandman both gave great performances as usual, both guys brought their A game to face stiff competion. Bio did very admirably with an extremely difficult and detailed custom. The hair sculpting throughout the body must have taken forever. He also did a pretty good job on the fully sculpted head. Deen is the future of customizing on this board. At his age, he will only get better and better until he is out-customizing people in his sleep.

Marvel vs. Capcom is a highly successful game. That is what this Wolverine was modeled after... I understand what you are saying but Wolverine has been in a lot of video games.. that fact alone qualifies him for the stipulation. |

Forgive me for not going into great detail about everyone's customs I think that everyone did a great job, and I appreciate them submitting the works to be critiqued.
Warheart vs Fulgore
Warheart's Dangel Dinero, Nice work with this one. I Like the details, good job on the knee pads, and good over-all paint job. Would have like to seen the mask, but I think you did enough to transform Burke into Dinero
Fulgore's Rellik - I think you are getting better, but this still looks a little rushed. The head sculpt looks good, but I can't tell from the photo whether it is sloppy or just a low res photo. Anyway keep up the good work. I feel like you are very close to a great custom here. Good part choices, It just seems a little rushed, now that may be your style, but i think you would benefit from a little patience with your work.
I think this one was close, but I usually go with my first reaction on the close ones

Looks good... no real problems with it, If you are not going to sculpt, I would have used pants mold instead of the short tights mold... Other than that great painting, very sharp. Hopefully you can move up to another division after this win.

Mortis is a hard custom to tackle, I have tried several times with only one coming out the way I wanted it to. I would practice my painting, Work on your sculpting details, and give it another shot.

Nothing really wrong with this, Would have used different arms for him, the DA arms make him look "cartoony." Painting looks good. It looks like you shaded the black, which helps. The bandana on his head not done very well, keep practicing.

Basically it comes down to ,I assume, Gate not having enough time to do 2 Great Customs, Earthworm Jim is Great, Pac-Man is... Well, Pac-man. And Crash is okay, but again photos are hard to see any detail. Gonzo & Sandy solid customs, nice details on both. Deen, your Wolverine was the best of your team. You are by far and away the most improved customizer on the board, in the last few years.

I fully agree with this and the Wolverine blew me away, but in the comic world and very evident in Marvel vs Capcom, Wolvie is a shorty, he just seems too tall in DA form. |
