I was wonder ing if anyone knows. When MAtt Bently was billed as Michael Shane in his early TNA time ,it was said that he was Shawn Michaels nephew or cousin. Anyone know if this is true family lineage or is this wrestling story line jargen? JUst wondering.

He was billed as Michael Shane from July 2003 until July 2005. I'm not sure why he changed it though, Or if he is related to HBK

There was someone in WWE at the time who went as Michael Shane, and they made TNA change the name..
Yes, he is actually related to Shawn

Yes, he is the nephew of Michael Hickenbottom. He was also trained by Michaels, along with Spanky and someone else ( name skips me right now ).
WWE needs to pick up Bentley and run a gimmick with that. Have Bentley be Michaels' "personal assistant", which you later find out he's obsessed with the gimmick and wants to BE Shawn Michaels. It would lead to great promos and a Bentley/Michaels feud. In which Bentley would win and adopt the "Heartbreak Kid" gimmick. I'm talking more of his heel days, with Sherri.

That sounds awful. Why would Shawn have an assistant? I think it would be better if Shawn just introduced MS and then have MS start to cost him matches by "accident". Shawn could tell him to stay in the back and then MS could come out again and cost him another match and then cut a promo on how that was no accident. I do like the part where MS adopts the HBK gimmick and stays heel. |

WWE requested that Michael Shane change his name to something else [Matt Bentley] because the Shane Twins were about to appear on-screen in WWE, but they ended up appearing as Jake and Jesse of Gymini.

How awesome would a promo be, if Michaels tells Bentley to watch/clean his locker room. Michaels walks up to Bentley a week later, with a tape, asking him to explain himself. It's a hidden camera, that looks like a mirror, with Bentley cleaning. Walks away and a few minutes later, is in Michaels' gear, looking into a "mirror", doing his pose and singing "Sexy Boy". C'mon now, that'd be comedy gold! Haha

What did happen to this guy ? i remember him having that match on Smackdown vs Big Show or something and he got squashed and then he never come back. I always used to enjoy his work

Paul London and Bryan Danielson were also trained by Shawn.
I would have enjoyed seeing Bently in the WWE. I like the ideas of having him of being brought in and put along with Shawn for a while. In my fig fed earlier in the year I had him debute as part of my HBK/Undertaker fued and had Undertaker take him out during a dark match before show so that the show started with him being taken out on a stretcher and Shawn watching on. A week later I had Shawn super kick him to show Taker he was focused for Wrestlemania.

Please bring him back. I loved him. No Homo. He was fantastic loved the bentley bounce. Sign the Hooliganz and Bentley and bring them in as a group. Then have them take over the tag titles and x-division area.

I always enjoyed him on TNA and wish he would come back or get back on with WWE again. I think is a good talent and could have some good matches in either company..

Michael Shane, i cannot belive that this guy isnt headlining tna right now, he was so innovated in his early days there that u i looked at him as being a top guy in the buisness, man i wish he would have stuck with it
