yea obviously their schedule has been a joke but right now I don't see any other team in the NBA that could beat the Lakers in a 7 game series

A healthy celtic team could give them a run.

Denver, if they get things going like they sometimes do, definitely has a chance against the Lakers IMO.

my friend and I saw Pau Gasol at Target the other day. I'm not a fan of the Lakers but damn this guy is beast.

Yeah a healthy Orlando or Boston could definitely beat the Lakers.

I dunno what you're basing this off of? I've yet to see it... it's not that I don't want to believe it. I want Boston to win the title or the Spurs, I am sick of the Lakers.
But come on get serious. In a 7 game series you are telling me that an Orlando team that can't even get Dwight Howard the ball, STILL, is going to match up with the 3 seven footers in Bynum, Gasol and Odom and then Kobe and Artest will be around as well. Orlando could get swept this time. Vince Carter will get shut down like he always does when it counts, there is no Hedo this time. Vince Carter and Howard essentially will have to be perfect for 4 games out of 7... and you think this is a good bet?
Boston has a chance to stretch a series with the Lakers but without homecourt I just don't see them winning 4 games out of 7 against that team when 4 are in LA... which it's starting to look like it'll be that way.
We're talking 4 times a team has to beat them in a short period of time. What makes you think this is even possible right now?

I think the Lakers are still the team to beat, they're so much better than the majority of the league they tend to get complacent from time to time.
I find Denver to be insanely overrated. They suck on the road(against bad teams too) and they give up an average of more than 101 points a per game. If the West wasn't so weak this year there's no way they're a top five team in the WC.
The only other team I buy in the West right now is Dallas. They have great depth, a top five MVP caliber player, great road team and as good as their offense is, they're a pretty underrated defensive team too.

yea i agree on Dallas... defensively they've closed out some games this year and this looks like the year Dirk is finally putting his game together completely. Hard to say if they'll be able to keep this up through the playoffs though.

Good West Teams: Lakers Spurs Nuggets Trail-Blazers Mavericks Suns Good East Teams: Celtics Cavs Magic Hawks

Oh it's better than the East as far as depth in good teams, but it's just not as strong as the past few years were.

Where do you guys think McGrady will get traded to? Sacramento for Kevin Martin, in some sort of way. Celtics need to get OUT of California, yikes!
