The 10/29 edition of Impact did a 1.3 rating, up from recent weeks. I think it's fair to say that the buzz around Hulk Hogan's signing had everything to do with the 20 percent jump.

Just think of when Hogan actually wrestles! Your looking at a 1.4!

Against Game 2 of the Yankees/Phillies World Series, no less. Pretty impressive.

I'd be more impressed if it was say a Game 7 of the World Series... Game two did 19 million viewers in the US and 8 million more in Canada. Who knows how many it did in Mexico and Japan. This has been the highest rated WS so far since 2004. TNA doing a 1.3 against that is very good especially when you consider that Hogan didn't even appear live in the ring. Plus collage football was on as well and it did another 4 million viewers.

Baseball doesn't even share a large audience with Wrestling fans. And the Baseball fans who are wrestling fans are probably going to choose Baseball over Wrestling 9 times out of 10... whether it's Game 2 of the World Series or Game 2 of the regular season... It's not like those 19 million Americans or 8 million Canadians were going to be watching iMPACT if it wasn't for the World Series wasn't going on. And failing that... it's still just Game 2. If TNA could pull 1.4 out on say a Game 4 or Game 7 then I would be at least a little bit more impressed... even though they really don't share a similar audience.

Not to mention, most of the World Series viewers are most likely on the east coast.
Anyone think that rather than Hogan ( who wasn't even ON the show ), it was the better use of the younger talent that drew people's attention? I know I tuned in to see how Nigel and the Guns would be used.

I'll give credit, when they hit a 2.0 mark. TNA has been up and down the low 1.'s for years. It's nothing that impressive. If they'd push that talent that deserves to be pushed and gave it 2-3 weeks, rating would show an increase. People would spread the word that TNA has the best WRESTLING there is to offer. Not the best ENTERTAINMENT... which is where they've been headed the past few years.
And with the signing of Hogan, it looks like that the direction their aiming for.

I will give TNA credit when they accomplish something. They've hit 1.3 before...

That is good but I doubt Hogan will get them past 1.5.

If Hogan isn't to appear in the iMPACT Zone next week [and he won't considering that the iMPACT for next week was taped before Hogan's signing I believe] I bet ratings will start going down because they aren't seeing Hogan.
Everything's riding on him now, sure Hogan gets TNA publicity, but now the public only care for Hogan and nobody else in TNA.
