Cube
Doesn't have an amazing storyline. More-or-less features a storyline of metaphors, but its about a group of seemingly random people who wake up in a rubik's cube type place, where each room has different traps.

I think some of the most violent films I own are the August Underground movies.

I'm your man. Heres some of my favourite torture/gore fest films:
Tokyo Gore Police (relentless Japanese action, gore fest)
Samurai Princess (ridiculous Japanese gore-a-thon)
Grotesque (banned in the UK)
Inside (horrific and intense horror)
Halloween II (crap film, but very gory)
Sexy Killer (a gore fest from start to finish that doesn't let up)
The Rage (craptastic (but hilarious), gore fest)
Check the world cinema section at your local HMV, or BlockBuster. They always have some awesome ones there.

right now im watching Ichi The Killer I love that movie. Another good Japanese one I would recommend checking out would be Battle Royale. It's not necessarily gory as such but it is quite violent.

Hostel II when the chick is hung upside down and being cut with the sickle, it wasn't so much the sight of it that was yuck but rather the sound it made when the blade connected... loved that scene If I didn't download a version of it after seeing it at the theatre, I wouldn't have seen that scene since it was cut out of the NZ version.

martyrs. very sick, disturbing and creepy movie. another very hard movie to watch, if you can find it, is subconscious cruelty.

There's that one ripoff of the Saw movies (all of the victims think it's a reality show or some crap), but I can't think of its name at the moment.

I would definately recommend watching it though.

Inside, Frontieres, Martyrs, and Funny Games are hands down some of the best horror films I've seen in the past few years. Very disturbing movies too, definitely up there with SAW. I personally hate the Hostel series, all five of those I just mentioned make the Hostel series look even more like a little bitch. The Girl Next Door is also quite the movie, not for many people though because of how ed up it is. Another good movie I just recently watched was Plague Town, crazy cannibal family that wrecks havoc in a town. 28 Weeks Later and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The New Beginning, while being mainstream films, are amazing in my opinion. If you haven't seen those, go and check them out right now. Don't bother with Hillside Cannibals, it was made from the makers of Hills Have Eyes, but just turned out pretty shitty. And speaking of Hills Have Eyes, stay as far away from Hills Have Eyes 2 as possible, shitty movie. The first Hills Have Eyes however, is a classic. There's that one ripoff of the Saw movies (all of the victims think it's a reality show or some crap), but I can't think of its name at the moment. That'd be Wrong Turn 2, and it's in no way a rip-off of the SAW movies. The Wrong Turn series began long before SAW ever came out. Not many people enjoyed Wrong Turn 2, but I thought it was just as good as the first was. So definitely check out Wrong Turn and Wrong Turn 2, great movies with deformed redneck cannibals.
