When the pledge was done in assemblies, I would either: A. Stand up, and face my back to everyone. B. Start a "Shut the up!" chant with my friends. Oh, you bad.

During the pledge of allegiance, you're supposed to face the flag. So if you put you BACK to everyone else, you're facing the same direction as them you jackass. I love it when people are too stupid to even rebel correctly.

When I was ten I was worried about whether Hulk Hogan would be able to pin (insert name of bad guy here). This kid has been taught by his parents that America is evil. That's what it boils down to. In any case, the kid was wrong to disrespect the teacher and the teacher was wrong to scream at the kid. theyre probally democrats I'd say Communists

I haven't said the pledge in years and no one ever says anything to me about it.

In my high school, they'd say the pledge during afternoon announcements on the PA system. I had math class two years straight during that particular class period. My teacher told us - "If you don't want to say the Pledge, for whatever reason, that's fine. But I do ask that everyone stand up."

This is, again, another example of constitutional rights being violated.
For some stupid reason, students' rights are non-existent in public schools. I get it, if you're in a private school with specific rules that you must abide by to go to that school... But this is public, government-regulated school. This is school that you are legally obligated to attend.
So basically, they're saying, "You must attend this school, you must not speak out against what you don't believe in (or silently protest in this case), and you must say what we tell you to say, or you will face legal ramifications."
It's really no wonder that so many people are so quick to just throw away their constitutional rights "for the betterment of the country (although it never really is for that)."
A student's lack of rights in public schools is one of the biggest hypocrisies in this country.

Students should have no rights. As far as I am concerned, until you are 18 years old you are the PROPERTY of your parents. And your parents send you to school during the day therefor you should do what the God damn teachers tell you to do.
And of all the problems with this world and this country, the pledge of allegiance is the LAST thing you little bastards should be complaining about.
The pledge of allegiance takes 15 seconds to say. You're telling me you can't stand up and take 15 seconds to honor this country and the brave men and women who have fought and died so that you have the ability to BITCH about your "rights"?
If you think you're too good to say the pledge of allegiance...go join your friends in Al-Qaeda.

isn't forcing someone to say the Pledge of Allegiance cancelling out the freedom of speech thing?

If you think you're too good to say the pledge of allegiance...go join your friends in Al-Qaeda. It's funny how brainwashed you are. The people who "fought for this country" are from the 1700's -- the same people who created the constitution of the United States, which lays out our rights as citizens in the Bill of Rights. The FIRST AMENDMENT clearly states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."It doesn't say, "Unless you're in school..." You think you're "standing up for your country" when you say the pledge of allegiance. What you're standing up for is the same brainless, mindless, idiotic, "my parents told me to do it, so I did it" nonsense that TERRORISTS all think. Terrorists don't do what they do because they thought it was a good idea on their own -- they do it because their parents and society told them it was a good thing to do. THINK FOR YOURSELF. Stop being a mindless drone. Stand up for what you believe in and stop FORCING your mindset on other people. Personally, I have no problem saying the pledge of allegiance, and I'll say it when I think it's necessary to say it. But to act like this person is unpatriotic because he's standing up (or not standing up in this case) for what he believes in -- the same thing that the forefathers of this country did -- shows me that you have no ing idea what you're talking about in regards to how this country was built.
