It has been reported by Dave Meltzer that Brock Lesnar's career may be in jeopardy and that he has a serious medical condition that he has requested privacy on which will prevent Lesnar from fighting for some time.
Lesnar went to Canada last week to get some rest and collapsed. He was rushed to an emergency room and along with Mono which it was already known that he had, he has a disease or issue of some sort. Dana White said that he will not publicly reveal what he has but that "It isn't cancer and it isn't AIDS" and that it is very serious.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has a bad Staph infection and is out of his UFC 108 fight with Cain Velasquez. The infection may require an IV to get out.
Shane Carwin has had knee surgery and can not take the fight.
It has also been reported that Shane McMahon has been seen at the UFC offices recently and that Dana White when asked about it said "No Comment."

source? Where did you hear all of this? -- My thoughts exactly. This is some pretty heavy sh*t to be posting without a source.

Jesus...That does not sound good at all. It almost sounds like Brock is in grave condition or something. I mean, with Dana White saying "He's not well and he's not going to be getting well anytime soon" sounds pretty serious to me. I really hope Brock gets well, but it doesn't sound too good at all.

If this is real news, I'm worried.
...Seems I'm the only one that doesn't feel like it's an illness. Sounds to me like it's a problem he has. Maybe an addiction.

It is on every major MMA website and Dana White said it at the 105 Press Conference. It is very real. I'm sure Lesnar will get better, it will just take alot of time and I wish him well and the fans to give him the time he needs. The sad part of this is 3 guys go down with injury and now it seems the UFC HW devision is empty. All that hype about how deep it is and now they can't find two guys for an place holder title fight.
Get well Brock, despite my dislike of your fighting style and attitude you are the best HW in the world and MMA needs you.

Looks like those steroids caught up to him. Maybe liver failure?
(Just speculation really. Don't shoot me.)

Cancel the Gonzaga/Dos Santos fight and make it Dos Santos vs Cain. Add in Kongo vs Mir at 107 in a tournament for an Interim Title or whatever, and that's how it could go down because they're really the only 4 top heavyweights there are, maybe Gonzaga.
Give Gonzaga a fight with Ben Rothwell, and then they've all got fights that are somewhat interesting.

Get well Brock, despite my dislike of your fighting style and attitude you are the best HW in the UFC and MMA needs you. Fixed. Brock is not better than Fedor... I mean atleast for the time being it would crown a HW ifghter to take Brocks place.

Because of the mono it could be one of a number of health issues that he was just dealing with or didn't know about but with his weakened immune system became debilitating. Steroids arnt the only thing to cause liver damage, cutting 30lbs. of weight for each fight isn't good for the body either. This could just be the fallout from a NCAA wrestling career mixed with a pro-wrestling career that left his body on the edge of collapse.

I do not like or respect Brock Lesnar, but I really hate to hear about an illness or injury sidelining any athlete. Personal feelings aside, I hope he makes a full recovery and gets back out there in the octagon soon. There is little worse than your body failing on you. I am glad it's not cancer because I feared it may have been as I was first reading. I hope he gets well, comes back bigger, badder, and stronger then ever, then gets tapped out again for the UFC title (though I am pretty sure he will be stripped of it by the way Dana was talking, that's also not cool).

This could just be the fallout from a NCAA wrestling career mixed with a pro-wrestling career that left his body on the edge of collapse. Yeah, if he already has a nasty case of mono, he could probably get serious complications from some relatively common things. You always hear about people with weakened immune systems dying (or falling seriously ill) from things that normally wouldn't be a big deal. I've read that mono causes enlarged liver and spleen in some people, which opens the door to a number of possible complications. The whole Canada trip thing confuses me. It almost sounds like Lesnar was sick of his surroundings and wanted to get away for a while, but I wonder if he worsened his own health in doing so. Lesnar doesn't strike me as an incredibly patient man. I wonder if he pushed his luck by being too active too soon. Either way, he's got a family and an infant child that need him, so I hope for their sake Brock gets well soon.
