WWE SmackDown: Thursday 23rd December 2010...Chris Jericho beating Santino Marella is fine, Richie Steamboat against Alex Riley was acceptable too. I'm intrigued by what we have in the finals of NXT next week, but it still seems obvious that Richie will win. Riley winning would be great, though. Kaval beating Zack Ryder was an acceptable match for WWE Superstars. Nice opening contest with Rey Mysterio beating Cody Rhodes, hopefully no nose breaking, haha. Kane and Randy Orton's promo was nice, I hope this feud ends before Royal Rumble, really. Seemed like the right decision for Jack Swagger to beat Justin Gabriel. Big Show feuding Swagger is meh to me, a passable feud. Hot tag team match with Evan Borne and Kofi Kingston beating Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk but I'm saddened by Punk taking the defeat. Great idea for teams though. Bryan Danielson's promo was awesome, but he has a lot of odds defying him to get to WrestleMania XXVII and it seems incredibly unconvincing right now. Should have had someone interrupting him, really. A match with Danielson would have been nice. Obvious win for Triple H and Kurt Angle against the Colóns. Interested what we have with Hunter and Angle next month in the Royal Rumble. Hopefully their tag team union ends. They are basically treading water right now. April Lee beating Kelly Kelly was likely. Punk deserves better treatment, may I add. Edge beating Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton was good, but we now have a dire WWE Championship match with Kane and Edge. Passable idea for the WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble, but a decent show.

Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler stand in a studio as the show begins. Cole welcomes everybody to the best of Monday Night Raw 2010. Lawler gives the explanation that the World Wrestling Entertainment decided to bring back a classic end of the year celebration of their flagship shows in review of that year. Cole goes on stating that two moments from each month, one from Monday Night Raw itself and one from pay-per-view will be shown. He explains the majority of moments will not be shown in whole but rather highlights during the next three hours. Lawler says that it's time to get things started off with January 2010 where on January 4th, a huge appearance of a man who would become a Hall of Famer in March and a little one-time return to the ring along with a Royal Rumble Match that is sure to be remembered as the guy who won's success has completely gone down the drain today and the other guy who just kept on rolling along, bound and determined, and eventually became the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania.
The opening pyros go off for Monday Night Raw and Jerry Lawler along with Michael Cole welcome everybody to the show. The Rock makes his way down to the ring as the arena explodes. He gets on the mic and talks about being back and how great it feels to be back. He dishes out some harsh trash talk and is eventually interrupted by Randy Orton and The Legacy. He talks about himself and Evolution defeating Rock and Mick Foley at WrestleMania XX. Rock completely ignores the mention and tells Randy he is being quite rude and has yet to introduce him to his buddies. He begins to introduce the Legacy and he is cut off with "It doesn't matter what their names are! All that matters tonight is that the WWE doesn't have to here you talk. I believe that you may of just cost us at least, at minimum, 99% of our viewers, because honestly Randy you are boring us more to death than any of the guest hosts that appeared on Raw for the past six months!" General Manager Teddy Long eventually interrupts and sets up Randy Orton versus The Rock in the main event. Before the match begins, the referee ejects Legacy from ringside. Highlights from the bout include the repeated signature moves from both men and a kip-up from The Rock as both men are down for the count. A few quick, cheap attempts at a victory from Randy and a pair of People's Elbows from Rocky. The match comes to a final end after twenty minutes of battle as Rock avoids a punt kick and nails the Rock Bottom and snags the pinfall for the victory.

A sped up edition of the first twenty-four entrants and a few highlight eliminations are shown. Finally, Ted DiBiase enters at twenty-five. The Miz ends up entering twenty-seventh and he tries to get a speech out but is nailed with a kick to the face from Booker T. Continuing to highlights, Edge makes his return at number thirty for Smackdown but spears nearly everybody in the ring and eliminates Chris Jericho. Later on, Shawn Michaels eliminates his own D-Generation X partner, despite a falling out of the two occurring in recent weeks, with some Sweet Chin Music. Eventually, Big Show is eliminated by Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes, and John Morrison. Rhodes is taken out by Ted and the final two of DiBiase and Morrison remain. Tons of hot back and forth action from these young stars goes. Multiple attempts at elimination but nothing happening. Morrison even nails the Moonlight Drive, but they are both beyond tired and JoMo gets up first, attempting to eliminate him. The rest of the couple minutes of action is shown in full and comes to an end as Morrison tries to eliminate DiBiase with a hurricanrana. Ted breaks free and both men are back in the ring. DiBiase suddenly clotheslines The Guru of Greatness over the top and to the floor. DiBiase immediately begins to celebrate his win. Morrison gives him a handshake and hug before allowing the celebration to continue.

COMMERCIAL BREAKReturning, Lawler says that January was quite a strong way to kick off the year. However when February came around there was a lot more harsh and intriguing actions. Cole continues on by saying that at Elimination Chamber there featured a WWE Champion who really didn't care one bit about others, even those close to him. And a top dog in the WWE with a recent change of heart was desperate for a shot at the Deadman. Randy Orton, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Montel Vontavious Porter, Kofi Kingston, and Cody Rhodes make their way down to the ring for the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match. Rhodes and Kingston start off and go back and forth with some action on both the inside and outside of the ring. Triple H enters third and beats the hell out of both men. Rhodes ends up eventually hitting the Cross Rhodes. MVP ends up entering fourth and works with Rhodes a bit as a team. They are eventually cleared out though. Randy Orton enters fifth and targets Hunter and Kingston. In the midst of everything, Kofi ends up nailing the Boom Drop on MVP and pinning him for elimination. Orton ends up getting hit with the Trouble in Paradise right after, but he rolls to the outside floor. Shawn Michaels finally enters as the last man. Triple H storms right into the chamber before Michaels can even take a step out. Kingston is on the receiving end of a beat down from Rhodes and Orton as Hunter nails the spinebuster on the outside floor and ends up finishing HBK off with a Pedigree and eliminating him with the pin. Rhodes goes at it with Hunter as Orton takes to Kingston still. Orton ends up eventually nailing the RKO on him and gets the pinfall for the elimination. Randy then refuses to help Cody as he is met with a shot for each one he sends. After getting knocked down, Hunter begins to move towards Orton but is rolled up by Rhodes with the tights for the three. Exhausted, Rhodes catches his breath and rises to one knee. Orton, though, shows no mercy on his Legacy follower and punts him right in the skull. He pins him and gets the last elimination and remains WWE Champion.

Live from the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN on February 22 - Rest In Peace, Champ No Song(s) Used.
Santino Marella is making his entrance and suddenly John Cena attacks him from behind. He throws him face first into the steel post and Jack Swagger, whom was in the ring for a match with Marella, runs like hell. Cena gets on the mic as soon as he enters the ring. He says he wants an answer from The Undertaker right now about WrestleMania. After a short while of continuous call-outs, Smackdown General Manager Paul Heyman comes out to the ramp. He tells Cena that he isn't going to allow him to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania and that's final! Before any argument can be made, the lights go out and a few dongs go off. The lights return and Taker stands behind Heyman. He snatches the microphone from his hands and orders him to get out. Heyman argues but is grabbed by the throat. He complies and makes his way to the back. Taker tells Cena that if he wants to step into the gates where seventeen others have fallen to him, then so be it. Cena says this will be different than everybody else that has stepped down that ramp at WrestleMania to take on The Undertaker because he is better than Jimmy Snuka, Kane, Triple H, Ric Flair, and even Shawn Michaels. He will end the streak if given the chance. Taker stands still for a moment before saying that at WrestleMania XXVII, John Cena will Rest In Peace. |
COMMERCIAL BREAKReturning, Lawler says that the end of March or beginning of April host the classical WrestleMania. In 2010, it took place on March 28th. However, before that could even happen Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes teamed up once more to take on their opponent at WrestleMania, Randy Orton. Cole continues on saying that Orton picked a former bitter rival as his partner against the two who would also go on to be involved in one of the biggest matches in WWE history. Live from the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, OK on March 1 - One More Legacy Song Used In Highlights: "Legacy" by Kutless |
Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes come out separately for the main event of Raw. WWE Champion Randy Orton makes his way out and his partner is revealed to be none other than John Cena. The match ensues with Cena and Rhodes going at it, Cena having the upper hand for the opening minutes. Rhodes manages to slip off on an Attitude Adjustment attempt and regains control himself, making tags with DiBiase. Orton ends up choking Rhodes once they are both legal in the ropes and then fires away with multiple strikes on Ted. Cena gets tagged in to become the legal men and he works with Orton to double team Ted. However as Orton distracts the referee and Cena grabs his classical chain and prepares to strike, the lights go out. They come back on and Ted nails Dream Street on Cena and get the pinfall. Orton immediately drops down to the floor, takes his WWE Championship, and makes his way towards the ramp. Rhodes, though, comes up behind Ted and spins him around. He drops him with the Cross Rhodes and stands tall over him.

Live from the University of Phoenix in Glensdale, AZ on March 28 - Match of the Year (WrestleMania XXVI) Songs Used in Highlights: "Ain't No Grave" by Johnny Cash |
, "Perish in the Fire" by Monster Magnet The epic entrances of both men happen. John Cena mocks Undertaker at first before bursting out to the ring himself. 'Taker has a strange raining display and fire rising from the ramp, getting putting out within five seconds each time. The match begins and they lock up a couple of times, each getting one on each other. Cena motions "You Can't See Me" and gets blasted in the face with a big boot. Each man connects with punches to the other repeatedly and Taker goes for old school, Cena pulling down on the ropes and dropping the Deadman on them. They each nail some signature moves and get some near falls and brawl amongst the outside of the ring. Some very close calls following Tombstone Piledrivers, Chokeslams, Last Ride's, and Attitude Adjustments. However, Cena nails a third Attitude Adjustment in the match and goes right into locking in the STF. Taker struggles to find the ropes and Cena pulls back with all his strength. He gets back up as Taker gets close and drags him back to the middle of the ring. Taker rolls over, though, and pulls Cena into the Hell's Gate. Cena scrambles like crazy as the hold is completely locked in. Cena begins to fade in color and soon passes out, the referee calling for the bell. Taker rises to his feet and looks around the arena. He drops down to one knee and gives his signature taunt over number eighteen, John Cena.

COMMERCIAL BREAKComing back from commercial Cole says it's about time to round up the first third of the year with April. During the month things got extreme, especially when two former best friends attempted to be the last man standing and changes came with the traditional draft lottery. Live from the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, MD on April 25 - Stand Tall or Fall (Extreme Rules) Song Used in Highlights: "Last Man Standing" by Pop Evil (Also Royal Rumble 2011 Theme Song) |
The former friends of Triple H and Shawn Michaels make their way down to the ring. Strikes back and forth fly and the two go to the outside and use the barricade and ring itself as weapons. Both men go down multiple times and the referee reaches four, five, and six counts repeatedly. HBK uses the ring bell and a steel chair to keep HHH down, but he keeps on getting up before the count can be finished. HBK then hits a moonsault through the announce table, but The Game once again gets up at nine. Hunter then takes control and throws Michaels into the ring post and barricade and then finds himself a sledgehammer under the ring. He misses a shot with it back in the ring, though, and gets taken down with an atomic drop. HBK nails his signature elbow drop and then sets up for Sweet Chin Music. He hits it and both men are laid out. HBK gets up at six and believes he has one, but HHH still fights on and gets up at nine. HHH takes complete control as he tosses Michaels face first into the steel post, hits a knee drop, and the spinebuster. He then takes the sledgehammer and nails him in the gut and proceeds to go and hit the Pedigree right after. Both men are out but the King of Kings manages to get himself back up to his feet barely at nine and get the victory. EMTs come down to the ring to help Shawn to the back.

Live from the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, VA on April 26 - Changes Coming Song Used In Highlights: "Changes" by 3 Doors Down |
Monday Night Raw loses only three superstars during the draft show itself - but big losses in WWE Champion Randy Orton, United States Champion Jack Swagger, and Kofi Kingston. In the supplemental draft they lose Evan Bourne, Sheamus, Maryse, and others. However, they gain some such as Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre, R-Truth, Natalya, and World Heavyweight Champion John Morrison. In the supplemental draft they get themselves some power back with superstars such as Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith of The Hart Dynasty and "The Big Red Machine" Kane.

COMMERCIAL BREAKIt is an hour into the show as we return and Lawler says that in May things got even bigger especially following all the shake ups the draft gave. A very special edition of Raw took place as for only the second time ever it was commercial free. Later on in the month was Over the Limit and it was quite the event well a young and fresh World Champion in John Morrison defended against veteran Triple H, a legend made his return to the business after quite some time. The show kicks off with Cena and Miz in the ring. They bicker back and forth until Miz nails Cena with the Money in the Bank briefcase and then hits the Skull Crushing Finale. Christian defeats David Hart Smith, Serena defeats Layla, Drew McIntyre retains the Intercontinental Championship by pinning R-Truth in a triple threat match, Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes encounter each other but Rhodes backs down from a fight, Wade Barrett debuts with William Regal at his side and he destroys Curt Hawkins, Ted DiBiase is found unconscious and Cody is accused and he denies before nailing Ted with the Cross Rhodes, Big Show is celebrating victory but Chris Jericho interrupts and tells him to back down now or lose on Sunday and Show motions for a fight right now which Jericho doesn't come to, and a contract signing between Triple H and John Morrison takes place ending with Hunter hitting a spinebuster through the table on the World Heavyweight Champion. He raises up the championship over the downed body before the upcoming Sunday.

The Hart Dynasty are taking on Edge and Christian for the Unified Tag Team Championships. Christian is placed into a Boston Crab by David Hart Smith and Edge enters the ring. The hold is let go and Christian slowly gets back up, arguing with the Rated R Superstar. Smith then lifts Christian onto his shoulders and Kidd springboards off the top rope and the Hart Attack connects. The pinfall is made and we have new champions. After Edge leaves to the back, Smith gets on the microphone and says that it was eleven years ago today that a member of the Hart family passed away doing what he loved. Kidd says that they love the entire Hart family and during these past few months during times of trouble, they searched for help from their second families. Tonight, that man wants to show himself and enjoy a celebration with the new tag team champions. After a short while of silence, Bret "The Hitman" Hart comes out to the ramp as the crowd explodes. He eventually gets to the ring and raises Kidd and Smith's arms up in victory.

COMMERCIAL BREAKComing back Cole speaks of June being the half way point in 2010 and it was an explosive point to say the least. At the event of Fatal 4 Way, there were three world championship matches. The WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the ECW Championship. However, there were four title changes that night by itself. As well, the fans were put into control at the end of the month as Raw presented a three-hour special: Viewer's Choice. John Cena, John Morrison, Drew McIntyre, and Triple H all make their way down to the ring. We cut immediately to the end of the match where Morrison nails McIntyre with a springboard kick to the head that sends him to the outside. Cena then nails him with the Attitude Adjustment as soon as he is up. Triple H gets to his feet and he gets the AA as well. Cena then locks in the STF and after a struggle, The Game taps out. Cena stirs back up in pain, his neck seeming to be hurt quite a bit. EMTs come to the ring to check on him until "AWESOME!" blares around the arena. The whole plays erupts into boos as Mr. Money In The Bank, The Miz, comes down to the ring and gets his title shot. The referee and EMTs try to stop it from happening but Cena pulls himself to his feet as the match is announced by Justin Roberts. The referee asks John if he just wants to forfeit twice, but he says no - so the bell rings. Miz immediately clotheslines Cena in the corner and he falls down hard. He smirks to the crowd and drags him to the middle of the ring before dragging him up very, very slowly. Even slower, he applies the Skull Crushing Finale and sends him down to the mat quickly. He rolls Cena over and gets the slow three count. A new World Heavyweight Champion has been crowned as Miz is awarded the championship that he flaunts to the booing arena.

Live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 28 - The People's Voice Is Heard Song Used In Highlights: "We The People" by Mudvayne |
The show kicks off with Viewer's Choice being explained to all the people. In the first match, Drew McIntyre's opponent is voted to be ECW's Shelton Benjamin and he manages to defeat him. R-Truth defeats recent rival Matt Hardy in a fans voted Falls Count Anywhere Money in the Bank qualifier. Next, Triple H is interviewed by satellite and he ends up getting interrupted by a phone call. He asks what they want before going silent and finally saying it's sounds like one hell of an idea. He finally states that when he comes back, people better be ready to play the game. World Heavyweight Champion The Miz is then selected to face United States Champion Bryan Danielson and Miz cheaply gets the victory following a low blow. Champion vs Champion with voted Beth Phoenix vs Serena Mancini never goes underway as Laycool attacks. Backstage, Teddy Long takes the Intercontinental Championship away from Big Show. Ted DiBiase has Evan Bourne be voted as his tag partner against his brother Brett and Joe Hennig, and they come out the winners. Next, John Morrison gets Jack Swagger voted as his opponent and he defeats him with the Starship Pain. Bret Hart and Vince McMahon have themselves a confrontation right before Jayson Paul vs Tyson Kidd is selected as a match. Kidd comes out the winner. Lastly in the main event, Chris Jericho takes on John Cena and Cena is the winner following an Attitude Adjustment.

COMMERCIAL BREAKJerry Lawler speaks as soon as we return and he says that in July one superstar on Raw, a legend, shined the most. He made his return to the business after months of absence and seemed to be back to his old ways. But instead, he hadn't changed one bit. John Morrison and The Miz go down to the ring to team with each other, but they aren't happy about it at all. John Cena makes his way out to the ramp and says before he was rudely interrupted at the start of the show he was going to introduce his tag team partner here tonight. So he'll go ahead and just do it right now and tells everybody to welcome back The Heart Break Kid, Shawn Michaels! They both come down to the ring together now. Cena kicks things off with Morrison and he completely controls him. Miz gets the tag and he gets dominated as well. Cena keeps on going right through both of them with each tag that they make until Miz rakes the eyes and ends up with cheap momentum. Cena manages to tag Michaels in, though, and he takes Miz right out of the ring. Later on the match, Miz ends up knocking the referee down and low blows Cena with a kick before nailing the Skull Crushing Finale. The referee is still down so Miz makes his way over and tries to get him up. He eventually drags him to his feet and turns back to Cena, who is back up, and gets nailed with strike after strike. Miz goes to tag Morrison, but he drops to the floor and smirks. As Miz is in complete disbelief and argues, Michaels is tagged in and he tunes up the band - nailing the World Champion with Sweet Chin Music as he turns around and gets the pinfall. The two begin their celerbation on opposite sides of the ring. Cena climbs onto the turnbuckle and salutes the crowd. He comes down and turns to a huge superkick that makes the arena go completely silent. Michaels stands over Cena with a blank expression that explains nothing across his face.

The bell rings and Miz is immediately double teamed. Morrison and Cena then go back and forth with fast paced moves, and Morrison ducks a shot from Cena and dives out onto the World Champ. Miz gets tossed back into the ring and Cena grabs his foot, Miz kicking him off. He gets back up and Cena ducks a shot and hits a very early Attitude Adjustment. Morrison breaks the pin attempt afterward at two. Later on in the match, Miz hits the Skull Crushing Finale on Morrison but only gets a two count. He gets two more failed pin attempts right after and he argues with the referee. Cena gets up on the apron as Morrison gets up behind Miz, kicking him in the gut. Cena nails his signature leg drop and Morrison nails him with a kick to the chest and a standing moonsault. They continue with brawling back and forth till Cena gets the upper hand. He nails the throwback and the five knuckle shuffle and then nails the Attitude Adjustment. Miz, however, comes storming in and takes Cena out of the ring before snagging the pinfall for himself. Miz gets himself all the way up the ramp as Cena begins to rise to his feet. Suddenly, Shawn Michaels hops over the barricade and nails him with Sweet Chin Music as he turns around! Morrison then exits the ring and questions Shawn before checking down on Cena. HBK stares him down and backs off a bit. Morrison gets back up and turns to say something else, but gets met with the superkick too. HBK stares over both men with that blank facial expression.

COMMERCIAL BREAKJerry Lawler states that August rounds out the second part of the year of 2010. And during that month a huge match between Shawn Michaels and John Cena took place and the match was so huge that it is going to be shown as the single best part of Raw in August. Live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on August 15 - Are We Dreaming Again? (Summerslam) No Song(s) Used.
The bell rings as Cena steps out to the middle of the ring and extends his hand. Michaels steps out and looks at it, shaking his head and chopping Cena. Cena sends a quick strike back, and Michaels with a chop. They battle back and forth with chop and strike, chop and strike. Michaels ducks one and lifts Cena up, dropping him with the atomic drop. He hits another chop before hitting a quick dropkick. He pops back to his feet, Cena doing so as well. Michaels goes for a clothesline, but Cena ducks under it and goes off the ropes, coming back with a Thesz press and hitting tons of strikes to the head before Michaels tosses him off. They get back up and stare each other down as the crowd applauds the action. Cena offers his hand again and Michaels slaps it away. They lock up, Cena ducking under the arm and hitting the spin out belly to back suplex and pops up, motioning "You Can't See Me" and hits off the ropes, coming back for the Five Knuckle Shuffle only for Michaels to kip back up to his feet and stare at Cena. As they stare, HBK goes for another chop, Cena catching it and whipping him to the corner, HBK rolling up onto it. He stays there however and gets onto his feet on it, hitting a moonsault on the standing Cena. He hooks the leg, only getting a two count. They get back to their feet and Michaels hits a chop, Cena firing back with a strike and the series begins again before HBK grabs Cena by the back of the head and runs with him, tossing him over the top rope. Cena gets right back up and in the ring, ducking a shot and grabbing HBK by the back of the head and tossing him over. However, as he turns around and motions his hands in a 'cleaned up' manner, HBK has held onto the ropes and he skins the cat. However, in the middle of it Cena pulls him onto his shoulders and pulls him out to the middle of the ring, delivering the Attitude Adjustment. The crowd give a mixed reaction towards it, but still exploding. Cena hooks the leg, but Michaels just barely kicks out. Cena gets up and motions "You Can't See Me" and manages to hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle successfully this time. He gets up and goes to the corner, pulling himself to the second turnbuckle, sitting on the top. He straightens up as Michaels is getting up in the middle of the ring and he jumps off for the leg drop, but out of nowhere Michaels hits the superkick well Cena is in mid air! The crowd stand up and roar in approval of this. Both men are out and the referee checks on them, beginning a count. As he reaches 6, Michaels drapes his arm across Cena but at what seems like 2.9, Cena kicks out. Both men slowly roll to opposing sides of the ring and eventually get to their feet. Michaels runs at him and hits the flying forearm, kipping up to his feet and climbing to the top turnbuckle trying to get this one finished. He hits his signature elbow drop and stays on the mat, kipping up once more. He throws his arms around wildly and goes to the corner, tuning up the band. The crowd watch on in anticipation as Cena gets to his hands and knees, then to one knee, and finally to his feet. Michaels comes skipping over and goes for Sweet Chin Music on the turn, but Cena catches his foot and drops him to the mat, quickly turning it into the STF! Michaels scrambles quickly trying to find a way out but it is too late as it is locked in. He battles onward, the crowd chanting back and forth with "Cena" "H-B-K" chants. As about a minute reaches with the hold in, HBK manages to drape his hand onto the bottom rope. Cena collapses off him breathlessly. Cena rises to his feet, as does Michaels, and they stumble towards each other. They begin the chop and strike game again, Michaels going for a sudden superkick - Cena ducking under it and lifting him for the Attitude Adjustment. Michaels slips off and lands on one knee. He pops up to go for the superkick once again, but Cena pulls him onto his shoulders, Michaels scrambling. Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment this time and hooks the leg for the three count. Cena begins his celebration and aids HBK up. They stare down before shaking hands, hug, and raise each others arms. |

Batista rolls out of the ring and Cena talks some more trash to him and is hit with Dream Street from behind. DiBiase pins him to become the interim champion. Ezekiel Jackson enters as the fourth man and a stare down comes with Batista. Cena and DiBiase split them up though as they beat them down. A four-way brawl comes together until The Miz makes his way out. DiBiase eventually slides off Cena's shoulders and hits Dream Street, but gets nailed by the World Heavyweight Championship by Miz and he gets the pinfall to become the interim champ. Cena nails his Five Knuckle Shuffle and his leg drop on Miz but is then attacked by Jackson. Cena ends up throwing Zeke out of the ring and then tosses DiBiase right over and on top of him. After a brutal battle between the two and Cena coming out on top they faced off again on Monday Night Raw in a No Holds Barred Match. Then later on in the month at Bragging Rights, Team Raw and Team Smackdown would go at it to determine who would be the holder of the prestigious Bragging Rights trophy and hold brand supremacy for a year. Team Raw and Team Smackdown end up both barging into the ring and an entire brawl breaks out between them. Chris Jericho and Kofi Kingston, however, are legal. The teams spill to the outside but Alberto Del Rio pulls on Kofi's foot, hops onto the apron, and pulls him down on the top rope. Kingston spins and stumbles into the Codebreaker and gets pinned. Alberto Del Rio is next after being RKOed. Drew McIntyre is third after The Code Blue from Tyson Kidd. Kidd is eliminated right after by Angle following the Angle Slam. Angle is next via the Sweet Chin Music from Michaels. David Hart Smith gets eliminated following a Pedigree from HHH. Edge is taken out by Orton following an RKO. Orton is then pinned by HHH following a huge pedigree. In the end, Michaels locks Hunter in the sharpshooter as Bret locks Vince in it as well. Both of them tap out at the same exact time. HBK and Hart begin their celebration of their win. Following the match and HBK and Hart go to the back, McMahon gets on the mic and begins to complain to the crowd. He tells them to shut up and that everybody from Team Hart is pathetic. He claims Hart deserved to be screwed but he didn't tonight. A gong suddenly goes off and the lights begin to flicker purple and black. A theme song hits and the lights stay off for a few minutes. They come back on and The Undertaker stands behind him and ends up nailing the Tombstone Piledriver in the middle of the ring. The Dead Man taunts over the chairman to end the pay-per-view.

Live from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL on November 22 - Dead Man Rerises No Song(s) Used.
Vince McMahon makes his way down to the ring slowly with an assistant helping him get there. He demands the crowd stop laughing at him for being assaulted by not just Bret Hart last night, but the man he fired back in April - The Undertaker. After a pop for his name he orders everyone shut up. Footage cuts to the lights going out and The Undertaker making his way down to the ring. He snatches the microphone away from Vince to stop him from talking and tells him that he is back to make Vince just like he is - a dead man. Taker backs Vince into the corner and shoves away his assistant. Triple H and Kurt Angle, however, rush down to the ring and ambush the Deadman. They stomp down viciously as Taker can't even stir in a sitting position. They eventually drag him back up as Hunter nails the Pedigree in the middle of the ring. HHH, Angle, and Vince all stand over Taker to bring the episode of Raw to a close. |
COMMERCIAL BREAKWe return and Cole informs us that we are now at the point of December. The last month of the year in what has been reviewed as a spectacular year for Monday Night Raw. As things drew to a close two former WrestleMania opponents in what ended up match of the year and one of the greatest matches of all time took on the bosses proteges in a TLC match and a newcomer to Raw, the King of the Ring, set his sites on John Cena's WWE Championship and tried to prove it against "The Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels in one-on-one action. Key moments in the very long, epic match-up get focused on. Angle and Michaels go at it at the start on the outside as do Hunter and 'Taker. The Deadman hits the chokeslam on Hunter through the announce table and proceeds to take away the steel chair of Angle. He misses a shot though and gets his legs clipped and he is knocked to the floor. Angle and The Game set a table up in the ring and prepare to put Taker through it but HBK makes the save. Michaels gets sent through the table soon after though. Taker begins to destroy the two and ends up going for Old School on Angle. Vince McMahon comes down to the ring though and pulls down on the ropes, causing Taker to fall through a table on the outside. A little time goes and Angle hits two German suplexes on HBK in the ring, but Michaels rolls out on the third. He gets back up pissed off but Taker is right behind him. He chokeslams him on the turn and then nails the Tombstone Piledriver on the King of Kings in the middle of the ring, getting the pinfall victory right after. Following the match, Taker does his signature pose with HBK doing his own right behind him as the final pay-per-view of 2010 comes to an end.

Dolph Ziggler interrupts John Cena at the start of the show. He talks about being the King of the Ring and wanting his title match with Cena at the Royal Rumble. Later in the night, he goes up against Shawn Michaels. Ziggler is control at the start taking HBK down multiple times but is eventually taken control of by the veteran. Ziggler ducks the Sweet Chin Music, though, and nails the Zig Zag only to get a two count. He pulls HBK back up and fires away with shots but gets tossed over the top rope. Later in the match Michaels nails his signature flying forearm, powerslam, and elbow drop package. He stomps away in preparation for Sweet Chin Music, but as he goes to hit it he trips. This leaves an opening for Ziggler to hit the Zig Zag and get the pinfall victory. As Michaels returns to his feet in the corner slowly, Ziggler rushes up behind him and nails the Zig Zag once again. This leads to Cena rushing to the ring and scaring him off. Ziggler taunts at the top of the ramp with a smile to end the show.

Returning to the studios Jerry Lawler gives a simple wow. Michael Cole agrees as that one word can describe this whole year. It has been explosive and shocking. Lawler says that if the WWE Superstars continue with what they have been doing, he expects 2011 to be an even better year. Cole says that it definitely will be, especially if he is still the broadcaster. Lawler rolls his eyes and tells everybody to watch WWE this week as tomorrow night the finale of NXT will take place. Cole then says on Thursday Smackdown will host it's own Best of 2010 - but he doubts it will be as rememberable as Raw. Lawler thanks everybody watching and hopes to have everybody watching next year. The show comes to a close.

Live From the Blue Cross Arena on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 - "And The Future Is..."
INTRO: TUESDAY NIGHT NXT
The opening pyros hit as the show begins. Josh Mathews and Michael Cole at ringside as they welcome everybody to the finale of NXT! Eight rookies entered back in the month of August nineteen weeks ago and now only two stand: Alex Riley and Richie Steamboat. This season, however, has been very different experiences for the both of them. Alex Riley and his pro Jack Swagger share the jock like attributes of themselves and have worked well together over the coarse of the season. Riley has himself a 9-7 record. As for Richie, his pro Chris Jericho had a heated rivalry with his father back in 2009. That showed no different between these two, but Richie managed to pull himself together and also go 9-7. Tonight one of them will be voted the winner of NXT and receive a contract of their choice between Raw or Smackdown and will get themselves a title shot at the Royal Rumble.
Skip Sheffield and Santino Marella vs Percy Watson and Zack Ryder vs Darren Young and Shelton Benjamin

The bell sounds as Young starts off with Curtis. They each share some back and forth standing action and then make simultaneous tags to Watson and Sheffield. After ducking a clothesline attempt Watson nails a Float Over DDT and makes a tag to Ryder. He gets in the ring and seems intimidated as Sheffield gets up. Santino, however, yells for the tag and Sheffield gives it to him by dragging him over the top rope. Santino gets up and tells him that he hasn't learned anything! He turns around to the Rough Ryder and is pinned. Santino Marella and Skip Sheffield are eliminated. Ryder begins to celebrate his win as Young enters the ring behind him. Ryder yells at Percy that's how you do it and suddenly Ryder gets rolled up and the three is counted. Zack Ryder and Percy Watson are eliminated. Ryder immediately gets up and charges up to Percy. He asks him why he didn't help and Watson enters the ring. He shoves him back to Young who nails a dropkick to the back and Watson follows it with the Float Over DDT before exiting the ring. The Miz gets into the ring and trades shots with Young. He gets quickly knocked down multiple times though as a fight is given. Benjamin makes a blind tag and he takes Miz down as well. He tags Young back in and he sets up for a running powerslam. Miz manages to get free though and hit the Skull Crushing Finale. He gets the pinfall as Curtis enters the ring takes care of Benjamin by sending him to the outside.

 (8:30) **3/4

Following a little bit of celebration Miz gets on the mic. He says this is the guy who should of won NXT and this is the pro who should be raising his arm up in victory. Curtis nods in agreement and takes the microphone. He says that this is just proof to those in the Pro's Poll and at WWE.com who decided to vote against him that he should be here in the finale because he's Johnny Curtis - Miz takes the mic back - and he's The Miz and they are awesome.COMMERCIAL BREAKWe return to Chris Jericho and Matt Striker in the ring which now has a black mat and two chairs in it. Striker thanks him for being a part of this interview. Jericho says it is his pleasure to be here on the finale of NXT where he will defeat Richie Steamboat and then watch as he is voted the loser of this competition as he should of been voted out first. The crowd give a boo as Striker says he is glad he brought that up because one of the main things everybody wants to know is: Why the hatred towards Richie? Jericho says it is quite simple. It is because he hates seeing people come into this business and getting things handed to them because they are second or third generation. He hated Ricky Steamboat because he thought he was better than him. Now his son thinks he is better? He'll do exactly what he did to his father last April and make him look like the pathetic sap he truly is. Striker thanks him for his time and wishes him luck in his match later on. Jericho exits the ring slowly as Striker says NXT will be coming back for season two starting next week. The rookie and pro pairings for season 2 are revealed: Brodus Clay with John Morrison; Byron Saxton with Dolph Ziggler; Derrick Bateman with William Regal; Jackson Andrews with Goldust; Jerrelle Clark with Kofi Kingston; Joe Anoa'i with Carlito; Michael Tarver with Big Show; Tito Colon with Cody Rhodes COMMERCIAL BREAK Alex Riley w/Jack Swagger

The bell rings and the two lock up. Riley quickly takes Slater down and works him on the mat a while. Slater fights back when they return to their feet though, and takes Riley down multiple times with quick and rough shots. He gets a couple of near falls but never reaches three. He goes for a neckbreaker but Riley manages to slip free and kick him in the stomach on the turn. He nails the You're Dismissed and gets the pinfall.

 (6:12) **1/4

Riley begins his celebration as Swagger joins him. Morrison helps Slater out of the ring and helps him to the back. Swagger then takes the mic and says that this is going to be the winner of NXT and the only reason he's speaking rather than Riley is because he is saving himself for his victory speech at the end of the show. The crowd give a boo as Swagger raises Riley's arm up in victory.
We cut to the back where Matt Striker introduces his guest to be the second eliminated rookie of the competition, David Otunga. He asks about his experience on the show and what he plans on for the future. Otunga takes the mic from him and says he should be standing here tonight in the final two and being declared the winner. But that ain't going to happen so he plans on going to Jesse Ventura and he plans on going to Abraham Washington. He knows both of them will want The A-List on their roster so he'll just have to take the better offer. He shoves the mic back to his chest and walks off.COMMERCIAL BREAK Richie Steamboat

The bell tolls and the two lock up with each other. Jericho takes things to the mat early on and applies variations of leg locks. Steamboat continuously gets to the ropes only for Y2J to apply another right after. Steamboat eventually breaks free and gets out to the apron after one. He ducks a shot from Jericho and hits a shoulder to the gut. He goes for the top rope crossbody but Jericho rolls through for the pin only for it to be kicked out of just barely! Y2J is in shock as he gets up and waits for Steamboat. Once his rookie is up he goes for the Codebreaker, only to be shoved to the mat instead. Steamboat quickly hits off the ropes and returns with a clothesline. This goes a couple more times before he hits a huge dropkick that sends Y2J down. He goes out to the apron and climbs to the top turnbuckle again. He hits the crossbody and gets a two count before Jericho rolls through for a pin of his own, getting a two right back. Steamboat rolls through once again and gets the shocking three!

 (9:44) ***1/2

Steamboat pops to his feet in complete shock of his victory. Jericho sits up slowly and looks around wild eyed. He gets back to his feet and storms over to Steamboat, who ducks a clothesline. After returning to the other side Steamboat tosses him over the top and continues his celebration! Michael Cole is raging on commentary as Josh Mathews praises Steamboat and says that we will find out the winner of NXT next!COMMERCIAL BREAKWe return and Matt Striker is in the ring with Alex Riley and Richie Steamboat at his sides. He thanks everybody for being here for the finale and says that before we get to the voting a poll was taken on WWE.com to see who the WWE Universe would like to see become the winner of NXT. He reminds everyone that this vote is not relevant and will not effect the verdict given by the pros in the final vote. The titantron shows that Steamboat gets 77% of the vote and the crowd bursts into cheers for it. Some of the pros seem satisfied with it well others don't seem to care. Striker says he will ask each pro at the top of the ramp their vote for the winner and they shall announce it to everybody. First up - Jack Swagger. He stands up to boos and laughs a bit and says it is no contest: Alex Riley! One vote for Riley. Next up, Santino Marella. He says that he would like to solve the puzzle and the crowd gives a chuckle. Striker says that's a different show and wants to know who his vote for the winner of NXT is. Santino immediately says "Richardo Stumboat!" Striker assumes Richie so it's not a one to one vote. Next is Zack Ryder and he says it's no contest, 'bro', Alex Riley. Benjamin is next and says he agrees it is no contest - but for Richie Steamboat. The vote is now tied at two to two as John Morrison gives his vote to Richie as well. The Miz follows up by saying that despite the fact that his rookie Johnny Curtis should be standing down there instead of Richie Steamboat, he shall give his vote to Alex Riley. A huge shower of boos from the arena as it's a tie at three to three. Chris Jericho then stands as the boos continue. He makes his way towards the ramp and begins to walk down to the ring. He says that he just lost to his own rookie and he is willing to admit that. Alex Riley, however, never even dared to lay a hand on his pro and that just goes to show that he is afraid to stand up and prove himself. He is afraid to go through people to get something. The crowd begin to cheer as Jericho enters the ring and says that makes it quite obvious who he has to give the final vote to. The man who truly deserves it and didn't even need to work for it... Alex Riley. The arena's boos get heavier and heavier. Striker congratulates Riley who climbs up the turnbuckles pointing to himself and shouting "I'm number one!" over and over. Jericho smirks to Steamboat and begins to walk to the ropes. Striker congratulates Richie on being in second place and asks how he feels. He doesn't give an answer and shoves Striker away. He charges to Jericho and begins to club him across the back. He takes him to the outside and chases him off to the back. He stops at the top of the ramp and gets a huge "Richie" chant from the crowd. He gives a slow wave to them and gets some props from Morrison, Benjamin, and Marella. He makes his way to the back as Striker once again declares Alex Riley the winner of NXT. He asks what his thoughts are and which brand he'd like to go to. Swagger enters the ring and puts his arm around him with a huge cocky smile. Riley says he's going to have to choose the brand the "greatest pro on NXT" is on in Smackdown and he plans on taking the United States Championship from Rey Mysterio at the Royal Rumble. Swagger takes the mic away and says that everybody needs to take a good look at Alex Riley because he is the future of this business. Riley proceeds to climb up the turnbuckles again as the arena boos heavily. NXT Season One fades out to a close.

WWE NXT: Tuesday 28th December 2010...Final episode! Nice preparation for the finals with the introduction, nice fatal four-way elimination match, I really liked it and it would kill time greatly. I do love how you gave this an individual post, by the way. Good promo with Matt Striker, but it just promoted the latter half of this hour where Chris Jericho faces Richie Steamboat. Good idea to set up Season 2 all at once as opposed to doing it throughout. Nice lineup, a good blend of Season 4 participants, left out participants from Season 1 and potentially decent choices for NXT. Really bizarre combinations though. Alex Riley needed to beat Heath Slater, but should have fought a Pro since Chris Jericho is facing Richie Steamboat (Riley's fellow finalist). Good main event win for Richie Steamboat against Chris Jericho, shocking three but all for nothing as the final promo had Alex Riley win. Probably better have the seven Pros reveal their options, too. Overall, a decent Season 1, the better option probably won too. Just avoid Riley mixing with his Pro too much.

-A decent match between eliminated rookies and their pros. This had a good result too. Pumped to see who wins. -Alex Riley over Heath Slater was the right call here too. But this win doesn't do alot of wonders for him. -This one does. I pretty much see Steamboat winning the whole thing. I mean he beat Chris Jericho. -Sucks Richie didn't win. Yet it rocks that Riley won. -Good show.

- Great job on NXT really, I was expecting Richie Steamboat to win NXT but hey it's all good with A-Ri winning NXT that means he faces Mysterio for the US Title at Royal Rumble, I see Rey retaining his title though. Richie Steamboat 2nd generation superstar, the son of Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, I see Richie having a future in WWE regardless and his father is a WWE Hall of Famer so, why not? Richie Steamboat I can definitely see him turning heel in the future to join The Fortunate Sons stable with Joe Hennig and Brett DiBiase since he is a 2nd generation superstar
- Johnny Curtis, will he be The Miz's apprentice because if he is, then I can see that as an awesome match made in heaven
- The NXT Pros and Rookies for next season I love that lineup, looks really good

wow, glad to see this still going strong AJ. The best of raw, if I can comment quickly, was VERY well done and I love the format you used. Very nice rundown of all that has happened. Definitely effective. NXT finale..wow, shocked to see Riley take it all. I don't see him beating Rey though. Things are looking up in here man, I'm glad you are sticking to it!

Great job on the 2 years, Best Of Raw was really well written. Riley winning was unexpected. Honestly, I can not see him beating Rey Mysterio at Royal Rumble.

Apologies for how late this is! I do like the little introductions to start the show, it was a nice move. I expect to see Riley to take the title of 'Breakout Superstar', since Richie has been pushed as an underdog a little bit too hard for my liking. I like the four way elimination tag match with the rookies, and I like how the most coherent unit won out in Miz and Curtis. I don't expect to see Jericho win later on, as I reckon Richie will be given one more 'miracle win' tonight, despite the poor job Jericho has done as his pro. The interview was very Jericho like, which was great to see. The pairings for next season look very interesting, which is the way they should be in my opinion. Riley getting a win here tonight is good for his momentum for sure, and only boosts my expectation that he'll win despite whatever may occur with Richie tonight. Otunga's ability lies on the stick, and so i'm glad you kept him out of the ring, and gave him a microphone to express his thoughts instead. As expected, Richie gets a 'shocking' three. I really don't think that the aftermath was needed. It just made Jericho look a bit weak tbh. The closing promo was great, and I can see the emotion you put into it, good stuff. Glad Riley won out, just try not to stick him with Swagger, and honestly, I wouldn't put him over Rey yet. A solid season closing edition of NXT, good show!

Jim Ross and Josh Mathews welcome everybody to the show. Ross explains this is a special edition of Smackdown where the top moments from the year 2010 will be in review as we go to enter 2011. Mathews says he hasn't been a part of Smackdown much this year at all but he has watched every episode and knows it has been one hell of a year. Ross explains it'll be the same format as Raw. A moment from a Smackdown show and a Pay-Per-View each month.
Moments/Matches Included...
• January 15th at the James Brown Arena in Augusta, Georgia. The Brothers of Destruction, Kane and The Undertaker, teamed up to take on CM Punk's henchmen at the time - The Hardy Boyz. Kane and Taker win after a long, interestingly worked match. Following the match, Kane attacks his own brother and attempts to claim the bounty Punk has put on Taker. However, the Deadman ends up chokeslamming his brother first.
• January 31st at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The Undertaker and CM Punk do battle in a Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Tons of knock downs and weapons used throughout the match but the end comes as John Cena comes out in anger and hits the Attitude Adjustment on Undertaker. This leads to a ten count in CM Punk's favor as he retains his World Championship.
• February 12th at the Riverside Centroplex: Baton Rouge, Louisiana. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk hosts a "Straight Edge Enhancement" for number one contender Rey Mysterio. Punk talks trash about Mysterio's past history of marijuana and performance enhancers. Punk offers a retirement booklet to Mysterio after he comes out and Rey denies it and tells him he should look at Raw or ECW because he won't want to show his face after Elimination Chamber. They end up brawling and Mysterio gets the upper hand. Punk, however, manages to escape before the 619 can be delivered.
• February 21st at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. In the number one contenders to the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match Rob Van Dam, Drew McIntyre, Kane, Batista, Booker T, and John Morrison are pitted against each other. Morrison eliminates McIntyre, Booker eliminates Batista, Kane eliminates Booker with help from Batista, RVD eliminates Kane, and Morrison wins by eliminating RVD.
• March 5th at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Park City, Kansas. Edge comes down to the ring and talks about how he became one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions the previous summer but was injured not too long afterward. He says he was replaced by - with a laugh - the Big Show. He admits if he wasn't injured he and Jericho would probably be the champions right now. Jerishow interrupt and Jericho tells him that he is proving nothing each time he speaks and Show reminds Edge that Jericho didn't get to choose his partner and if he could he definitely wouldn't have picked a rock star wannabe like him. Edge ends up announcing who his partner will be at WrestleMania to take away the Unified Tag Team Championships - Christian! He gets to the ring and explains after his last day on ECW earlier this week he went right to Paul Heyman and got a contract signed and is here now. Edge explains it isn't about singles careers at this point, it is about taking away the tag team titles and bringing them home to true champions.
• March 28th at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. As shown on Raw, John Cena and at the time Smackdown Superstar The Undertaker go on in an epic nearly five star battle, but easily the match of the year. Tons of near falls from both men and tons of finishing moves that don't finish the match off as anticipated over and over. Things come to an end as Taker locks in Hell's Gate and Cena literally passes out.
• April 23rd at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. John Morrison and CM Punk come down to the ring for their contract signing for their "I Quit" match at Extreme Rules. They both grab for the contract to sign and Morrison tells Punk to do what he will on Sunday and quit it. JoMo tugs away the contract and signs it before sliding it over to Punk. He talks trash as Morrison continues to tell him to just sign it over and over. He gets more agitated with each word and Punk finally signs it. They stare down until Morrison says they both know it's only a matter of time before one of them jumps over this table and beats the Hell out of the other - so why not get it over with? He dives over and pounds down on Punk, who eventually gets free. He pops back up and trips over the table and Morrison continues to fire away until he exits the ring. They stare down from the outside and the ring as Morrison raises up his World Title.
• April 25th at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. John Morrison and CM Punk go at it in an "I Quit" Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Highlights of the match where each man has the other in a position to quit, but refusing. It cuts to Punk giving a speech about Morrison wanting to be like the frat boys in the arena by going out and partying. Things come to an end, however, as Morrison ducks a shot from the microphone and takes Punk down and plows fists into the head. He then takes a beer from one of the crowd members and pours it over Punk's head. He begins to flip out and shouts that he quits over and over. He begins to go up the ramp but Morrison ends up putting an exclamation point to it as he hits the Moonlight Drive on the ramp and raises up the World Championship once again to bring the entire pay-per-view to an end.
• May 14th at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York. WWE Champion Randy Orton takes on United States Champion Jack Swagger in a champion vs champion non-title match. Tons of back and forth and great action from the two. Swagger ends up avoiding a punt kick and later on in the match nails the Gut Wrench Powerbomb - Orton kicking out of a pin attempt. The match comes to an end via pinfall following a sudden, perfectly hit RKO.
• May 23rd at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Randy Orton defends the WWE Championship against CM Punk. Following tons of assistance from the Straight Edge Society, they get ejected from ringside. This leads to Orton getting a huge upper hand but ends up getting his RKO reversed and a clothesline is hit. After a bit of work from Punk, he goes for the GTS but stalls. So when he launches Orton off, the RKO is hit in mid-air and the pin is made.
• June 20th at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. Randy Orton defends the WWE Championship against Edge, Christian, and CM Punk in a Fatal 4 Way Match. The rivals (Christian/Edge and Punk/Orton) mainly go at each other throughout the match with some switch ups within. The end of the match comes as Orton goes to punt Punk but gets speared by Edge out of nowhere and pinned - a new WWE Champion crowned.
• June 25th at the Verizon Wireless Arena NH in Manchester, New Hampshire. Newly crowned WWE Champion Edge defends the title against the man he won it from - Randy Orton - on Smackdown. Great chemistry between the two and tons of back and forth action filled with signature moves on each other. As Orton nails the RKO and prepares for the punt, the Straight Edge Society come down to the ring. This gives enough time for CM Punk to hop over the barricade and guillotine Orton on the ropes and run. Edge then nails a spear and the three count is made off the pin.
• July 2nd at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. WWE Champion Edge hosts The Cutting Edge with his guest, Christian. They share some mocking of each other including Edge claiming the Peep Show is the highlight of Christian's career. After making fun of Edge some more, Christian gets hit with the WWE Championship right in the face. He is then met with the spear and the Rated R Superstar stands tall.
• July 18th at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Kofi Kingston, Shelton Benjamin, Drew McIntyre, Chris Jericho, Evan Bourne, and Sheamus all qualify for the Money In The Bank Ladder Match main event that night. Highlights of great spots in the match include Kingston wedging a ladder between two, hopping onto it, and nailing the Trouble In Paradise to Jericho whom is on the ladder. Towards the end, Jericho ends up putting the Walls of Jericho on Kingston atop the ladder. He tries to find a way to grab the briefcase at the same time but Bourne and Benjamin hop onto sides of the ladder. Bourne ends up kicking Benjamin off and he drags Jericho with him, Kingston falling right after. Bourne retrieves the briefcase.
• August 15th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. WWE Champion Edge defends against Christian in a ladder match. Both men constantly try to take each other out throughout the match and each get near victory each multiple times. Spots in the match include a spear to Christian through the barricade, another spear into a ladder, and lastly a Killswitch from a ladder through a table and Christian then retrieving the WWE Championship.
• August 26th at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho face off with The Rock - making a surprise appearance - is the special guest referee. Classic and great chemistry from Angle and Jericho goes on and things get heated up following an Angle Slam and a Codebreaker each. After Jericho can't get a three count, he argues with Rock and slaps him across the face. Big mistake - as Rock nails the Rock Bottom right in the middle of the ring. Jericho is stunned and once he gets back to his feet, the Angle Slam is nailed and the pinfall is made. Following the match, Rock raises Angle's arm up but then nails him with a Rock Bottom as well. He proceeds to taunt to the crowd upon each turnbuckle to bring an end to the Thursday return show.
• September 19th at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The Hart Dynasty are set to defend their tag team gold but have no idea who against. Mr. McMahon comes out and introduces his hand picked team of Kurt Angle and Triple H! The Game and the Olympic Gold Medalist destroy Kidd and Smith easily, controlling them throughout the match. The ankle lock and figured four get locked in and the Hart Dynasty tap out simultaneously.
• September 23rd at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Christian comes to the ring to start the show in celebration of his victory at Night of Champions. Alberto Del Rio, however, makes his debut and they trade trash talk. They eventually settle upon a match in the main event. In the match, Del Rio shows his aggressiveness and works the shoulder hard. Christian, though, fights back the best he can. When he goes for the Killswitch he doesn't hit it that hard due to the arm hurting. Things come to an end as Del Rio locks in a cross armbar and forces the champion to tap out as the pain is far too much.
• October 3rd at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Edge and Randy Orton face in a Hell In A Cell match. The two use the cell to beat each other up viciously. Some spots go including a rope-hung DDT from Orton onto a steel chair and Edge using the chair across Orton's back multiple times. Edge then forces Orton up and off the ropes and nails a spear, getting the pinfall and the victory over his now even more bitter rival.
• October 7th at the Landon Arena in Topeka, Kansas. A twenty man battle royal to determine the new number one contender for the WWE Championship is. In the early goings Primo, Matt Cross, Joey Mercury, and Zack Ryder get eliminated. Later on in the match Triple H and Kurt Angle get shockingly eliminated before many superstars. Rey Mysterio, though, shockingly returns and eliminates the man who beat him down and put him out longer than expected, Bryan Danielson. Things come to an end when CM Punk eliminates Kane following a ginormous GTS.
• November 21st at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Team Danielson (Chris Jericho, The Miz, Sheamus, CM Punk, and Bryan Danielson) faces Team Mysterio (Ted DiBiase, Evan Bourne, Santino Marella, Kaval, and Rey Mysterio). Santino gets eliminated by Sheamus as does Kaval. Sheamus then gets himself disqualified and Bourne then rolls Punk up to eliminate him. Jericho is the next one gone as he gets counted out. DiBiase is gone next as Danielson locks in the Cattle Mutilation and forces him to submit. Danielson goes next following a 619 and a dropping of the dime and the match comes to an end after Miz gets hit with the 619 and the Air Bourne from Evan and it finishes the match off.
• November 25th at the Veteran's Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. New WWE Champion Kane comes to the ring and says that it is not the era of Kane, but rather an era of careless destruction. After more talk, Randy Orton interrupts him and says that now that he placed Christian on the shelves he'd be more than happy to take that rematch clause to Kane and take away the WWE Championship right now. Orton comes down to the ring as Kane orders him to stay back, but the Viper doesn't listen. He goes under the ring and grabs a steel chair and tosses it into the ring. He gets onto the apron but GM Abraham Washington interrupts everything. He comes out and ends up announcing Kane vs Orton at TLC in a chairs match for the WWE Championship! Orton then turns to a chair shot straight to the face as Kane sickeningly laughs as Orton writhes on the floor in pain as the Big Red Machine drops down the chair and laughs stronger.
• December 19th from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Kane defends the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in a chairs match. Orton uses a chair all throughout the match. As soon as Kane sets his in-ring pyros off, Orton is using it. However, the Big Red Machine over powers the Viper within the match as well and doesn't allow himself to get defeated. He shoves away on an RKO attempt and brings things to an end with a Tombstone Piledriver on a chair and gains the pinfall to stay WWE Champion.
• December 23rd from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Edge, Drew McIntyre, and Randy Orton face in a number one contenders match to face Kane at the Royal Rumble. Orton hits the RKO on McIntyre early on. Orton and Edge go at it up until McIntyre works Edge strong. Some triple threat action goes on between them that actually ends up fairly well, but things come to an end after Orton hits the RKO on McIntyre and Edge spears Orton and snags the pinfall on McIntyre. After the match, Kane comes down to the ring and goes for the chokeslam on Orton but Edge comes storming in and spears the hell out of Kane! He and Orton show approval of each other and nod and taunt to the crowd to end the show.
J.R. and Josh Mathews thank everybody for being a part of Smackdown in 2010. Josh hopes that everybody comes and joins next year as well and J.R. says that he expects many more huge moments and he bets it'll be a hell of a year. The show comes to an end.

Really good write up for that. Even for just a best of, you put in a ton of work. Kinda filled me in on the missing pieces I may have overlooked.

As of today, January 1, 2011, it will be effective immediately that the following superstars head to their new brand of Raw or Smackdown. Following discussion over night by Jesse Ventura and Abraham Washington, the general managers, they finally came to terms of agreement to shake things up for the new year and have some roster change ups heading down the stretch to WrestleMania.
CM Punk will be bringing himself over to Monday Night Raw along with Duke Rotundo and Maryse. Meanwhile, going over to Thursday Night Smackdown will be the expected-to-return-soon beast of a man, Ezekiel Jackson, along with R-Truth and Serena.

Kind of a lopsided trade if you ask me, but excited to see Punk on Raw!

Live from the Frank Erwin Center at Austin, TX on Monday, January 3, 2011 - "Start Up The New Year!"
| Duke Rotundo defeats Santino Marella; Kenny Omega defeats Kaval An easy and quick match for Rotundo in his debut for the Raw roster on Superstars. Marella gets very little offense in and is eventually finished off with a running seated senton; Inter-promotional action for the Superstars main event. Kaval controls the mid-match area with his brutal kicks and hard strikes. Omega, however, is able to avoid the Warrior's Way and then pop to his feet and nail the Croyt's Wrath to finish things off and get the pinfall. |

INTRO: MONDAY NIGHT RAWThe opening pyros hit the stage as Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler welcome everyone to the very first edition of Monday Night Raw in the year 2011! Last week was about celebrating 2010, but now it's time to get things completely warmed up as we are just twenty-seven days away from the Royal Rumble which not only will feature the first ever 40-man Royal Rumble match, but John Cena versus Dolph Ziggler for the World Heavyweight Championship! But tonight, Cena goes up against one of Raw's newest acquisitions in that six man trade on New Year's - CM Punk! But first, we start off with a bit of past vs present. The Miz

The bell tolls and the two lock up. Michaels gets the upper hand early on as he takes Miz down a lot and works him in the corner. His veteran experience is a big factor as Miz doesn't get in anything in for a long while. He rakes the eyes in the corner at one point though and begins to fight back hard. He takes out HBK with suplexes, kicks, hard strikes. He ends up hitting the Skull Crushing Finale, but Michaels manages to get his foot on the bottom rope. As Miz continues to work him, HBK suddenly turns the tables and gains momentum. He eventually hits the flying forearm, the powerslam, and the elbow drop. He begins to stomp away for Sweet Chin Music, but Miz ducks the kick once he's up and rolls him with up with the tights for the three.

Winner of the match via pinfall, The Miz (9:13) ***

Miz quickly scurries himself out of the ring and raises his fists up in celebration. Michaels, meanwhile, sits himself up in disbelief at the cheap victory from "The Awesome One". He gets to his feet and leans across the ropes as Miz makes his way up the ramp mocking the Heart Break Kid.COMMERCIAL BREAKWe return and Dolph Ziggler brings himself out to the ramp, being followed by an unknown blonde girl. Ziggler taunts a bit before walking down to the ring arm and arm with the girl. She even holds the ropes for him as he enters and he gets in with a cocky grin across his face. He gets on the mic and tells everybody to soak in the image of this beauty. He stalls a moment before saying he is of course talking about himself. Then he moves over to the girl and introduces her as Kaitlyn, his girlfriend, and he has gotten her a contract here on Monday Night Raw so she is officially a part of the roster. He says it's time to move onto bigger things - those bigger things being, not John Cena, but the World Heavyweight Championship itself. He claims that he will head into the Royal Rumble pay-per-view and show no mercy on John and he will be on his way to WrestleMania after winning that world title. Then he will challenge whoever dare step up against him and defeat them too. He then vows that he will embarrass Cena so much at the Royal Rumble that he won't even want to stay in the company and show his face at WrestleMania so nobody will have to worry about seeing him once again in the main event of the grandest stage of them all where Dolph Ziggler belongs! He tosses the mic away and climbs to the top turnbuckle and taunts to the booing crowd. Cutting backstage, Michelle McCool and Gail Kim are making their way down to the hallways for diva's tag action - up next. COMMERCIAL BREAK Layla and Maryse

The bell rings with Maryse starting off with Kim. They go back and forth a bit and work on the mat. After a couple of minutes, Maryse begins to make tags with Layla back and forth and they work Kim until she tags in McCool. Layla backs down immediately and tags in Maryse, who enters the ring and begins to fire away at McCool, but gets met with a shot right back each time. McCool ends up taking full control and hits the Faith Breaker, getting the pinfall after.

 (5:20) **

Layla quickly drops from the apron as McCool comes near her and she hurries up the ramp. McCool gets her Diva's Championship and proceeds to celebrate with Kim as Layla screeches at McCool that the Diva's title will become hers. She storms off to the back.
We cut backstage where Todd Grisham introduces his guest at this time to be the Intercontinental Champion, Wade Barrett. He asks about holding onto the championship for almost five months now and how he has felt during his reign - which could end tonight. Barrett stares at him before telling him that there is no chance tonight he will lose the Intercontinental Championship. Especially to a fool like John Morrison - somebody he has already defeated twice on pay-per-view. Now he wants this Falls Count Anywhere match, and he has it. But it's a mistake because all it will lead to is further embarrassment by Wade Barrett. He then says he will not lose the Intercontinental title until he decides to give it up when he becomes world champion. He walks off.COMMERCIAL BREAKFalls Count Anywhere Match for the Intercontinental Championship |
John Morrison vs Wade Barrett©

The bell rings and Morrison immediately takes Barrett to the outside with a dropkick. He goes to the outside and pounds on him viciously. He uses the barricade, steel steps, and announce table in the opening minutes. He goes for a springboard moonsault from the apron but Barrett, however, moves out of the way and he hits the announce table. The champion goes for a pin but gets a two count only. He then drags Morrison off and takes him around the ring, lifting him up and slamming his back into the steel post. He tosses him around to the barricade, post, and steps. He then grabs a steel chair and waits for him to rise. The chair wraps around the post though as JoMo ducks away and shoves him into it. He goes to roll him up, but only gets a two count. They both get up and brawl up the ramp, Morrison throwing Barrett into the WWE Logo. Morrison then climbs onto the logo and jumps off at Barrett only to be caught on his shoulders and dropped with the Wasteland. Barrett staggers a bit before going for the pin, only getting the two count. He can't believe it and complains to the referee before dragging Morrison back up. He lifts him up for the Wasteland again but then moves towards the edge of the stage. JoMo begins to fight though, and gets off of him. Barrett then turns to a dropkick and he falls down into all the equipment below. Morrison staggers back up and looks around the arena and backs up before rushing to the end of the stage and diving off onto Barrett. The referee then counts three from the stage.

Winner of the match via pinfall and NEW Intercontinental Champion, John Morrison (10:40) ***1/2

Morrison rolls around in all the destruction on the floor and then staggers up to his feet slowly, raising his fist up in victory. The referee returns from down towards the ring with the Intercontinental Championship and he awards it to Morrison, who climbs onto the stage once again and raises it up with a smile across his face. He then raises it towards the edge where Barrett is. Morrison throws the belt over his shoulder and heads to the back.COMMERCIAL BREAKWe return and Vince McMahon struts his way out to the ramp with a grin across his face. He raises his arms up to the booing crowd and he makes his way to the ring and gets right on the mic. He says that as Jim Ross likes to say over on Smackdown, business is about to pick up! Because this is a new year and he feels great! First of all he picked up some new theme music as people may have noticed with some more pep to it, and then he had himself a vision the other night where he and The Undertaker stood in the ring together. He smiles some more and says not as opponents, but as business associates much like the Corporate Ministry from years way back. He says he'd like to invite the Dead Man to the ring so with this new year and this atmosphere where things are so fresh to shake hands and agree to put everything behind them. He continues to smile and the arena continues to fill with boos until the lights go out. The Undertaker then emerges from the back and slowly makes his way to the ring in his classic and eerie way. Once in the ring, he glares across the ring at McMahon who still keeps the smile across his face, even though it's obvious he is afraid. He tells Taker that he wants to clear everything up. First of all, he is going to apologize for firing him last year - his mind wasn't in the right place. What was he thinking? He then says that when he put him through that table at TLC, he wasn't thinking even more because he shouldn't be trying to harm his top superstar, right? He admits to it being bad business decisions on his behalf but things can be all right in the world of the WWE Universe once they put this all behind them. Taker steps closer to McMahon and puts his hand out. Vince goes to shake his hand but Taker snatches the microphone away as the arena roars. He pulls it up and tells Vince that he may be a dead man walking, but so is Vince. He's lucky he doesn't take his soul right here in front of everybody for all the Hell he has attempted to put him through. He continues on saying that the Hell he went up against was nothing. He has had a lot worse experiences throughout his entire life and career. But that doesn't mean payback is pushed aside and Vince gets a free pass. Once you step into the yard of the dog, the dog doesn't let you get back out. The gates are closed and you're not getting back out into the free world until that dog's appetite is filled up. It's time for McMahon to rest... in... peace. He rolls his eyes back and McMahon spits in his face. A loud "ooh" goes as McMahon begins to yell towards Taker, who turns back to him with his eyes widened. He steps closer but McMahon rushes himself out of the ring and up the ramp as fast as he can. Taker then rolls his eyes back and raises his arms up - pyros hitting the stage to stop McMahon. They go away though and McMahon continues to scurry himself to the back in full fear. COMMERCIAL BREAK Sheamus and Mason Ryan w/Paul Heyman

The bell sounds as Kidd and Sheamus start things off. The Celtic Warrior overpowers early on, keeping Kidd grounded and not able to use his agility. However, Kidd manages to break free after a little while and get some moves in. He makes the hot tag to Smith and he beats the hell out of Sheamus until Ryan is tagged in and he monstrously overpowers Smith. Kidd, however, gets fed up after a little while and goes for a top rope crossbody, only to get slammed. Smith then stands behind Ryan, ready to nail him with some move. Sheamus, though, rushes in and nails the Brogue Kick. Ryan then pins him.

 (6:30) **1/4

The odd, yet extremely powerful duo ensue in separate celebration of the victory. Kidd gets into the ring though and begins to fire away rapidly at Sheamus. Ryan, meanwhile, stands away in the corner with Heyman. Smith soon gets up and joins in on the double team of Sheamus. They end up backing him against the ropes and clothesline him over. Ryan then stares at them before exiting the ring slowly, not wanting to deal with them now.COMMERCIAL BREAKWe return at ringside where Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole reveal the next five men to fill out the first half of the Royal Rumble match. Those five are going to be Wade Barrett, Mason Ryan, Sheamus, Duke Rotundo, and the man who won it all last year - Ted DiBiase! Chris Jericho

The bell rings and DiBiase immediately goes to work on Jericho, who pulls away through the ropes to stop the attacks. Y2J then attacks from behind and beats down on the third generation superstar. He works him on the mat and in the corner, especially the back as it seems he's preparing for the Walls finish to things. DiBiase shows his heart and determination though as he uses his strength, going through the pain, to take Jericho down. He even nails the Dream Street, but only gets a two count. He takes Jericho right back up and works him a bit more, getting him down hard. He sets up for Dream Street again but Jericho gets free and ducks a shot. He then nails the Codebreaker and then applies the Walls of Jericho right after. Some scrambling from DiBiase, but it is way too much pain for him to bear as he taps out rapidly.

 (7:25) ***

Jericho begins celebration of his victory as he demands a microphone. Once he is given one, he barks at the crowd that the Royal Rumble is one of the only things in his career he has yet to accomplish. This year - he feels it - will be his year. He plans on going into that Royal Rumble match, thirty nine other men, and taking the entire thing whether he enters at number one, number forty, or number sixteen. It doesn't matter. Royal Rumble is Jericho.COMMERCIAL BREAKWe return and a back is turned to the camera. The man turns around and it is Duke Rotundo. He smiles and says that all that people are talking about in this trade is CM Punk. But the fact of the matter is that he is a part of that trade and he is going to be doing bigger and better than CM Punk. Especially now since he was hand picked to be in the Royal Rumble, he shall enter it and prove to the world that he "ain't need nobody". He walks away from the camera.
Cutting to a different part of the arena, World's Greatest Tag Team are walking down a hallway. Suddenly, The Fortunate Sons come in and attack them from behind. They begin to stomp away viciously until the Unified Tag Team Champions, The Dudebusters, come in applauding them. Hawkins steps up in front of Trent and Caylen and congratulates them on attacking their opponents for a number one contenders match. Now neither of them will be getting the shot at their gold. The three laugh until Jesse Ventura steps into the scene. He says he begs to differ. Benjamin and Haas get up and Ventura puts his hands out telling them not to fight now. He says since The Fortunate Sons want to take things like this to get a title shot - they can have it. But also will the World's Greatest Tag Team. He announces next week on Raw will be a triple threat tag team match for the Unified Tag Team Championships! The Dudebusters and Fortunate Sons can't believe it, Ventura walking off in the process of their bickering. Then the World's Greatest Tag Team says they'll be seeing all of them next week and they'll be the ones with the tag team gold above their heads in the end. They walk off.COMMERCIAL BREAK World Heavyweight Champion John Cena

The bell tolls and the two lock up. Cena backs Punk into the corner and gets tossed right back into it. Punk fires away with vicious shots and kicks. He takes him out from the corner and brings him to the mat, applying various submission holds. After a couple of minutes, Cena fights back and ends up hitting his signature spinout inverted suplex. He then nails the Five Knuckle Shuffle and goes for the Attitude Adjustment, but Punk slides off and escapes from the ring as a commercial break interrupts the match. Returning, Punk is in control once again, working Cena's arm hard in the corner. Moments from the break are shown where he pulls Cena arm over the top rope and bashes it against the steel post as well. Back to the match, Punk ends up hitting the GTS dead center of the ring and goes for the pin, but Cena just barely kicks out. Punk gets frustrated and drags him back up. He tosses Cena to the corner and hits him a few times before backing off. He returns with a knee t the jaw and a bulldog. He pops back to his feet and awaits. Once Cena rises, he lifts him up once again but Cena slips right off and ducks a shot and hits off the ropes, nailing the throwback on the return. He then makes his way to the top turnbuckle and hits his top rope leg drop. He comes back to his feet and awaits Punk. Once up, he hits him with the Attitude Adjustment. He then drops down for the STF and he pulls back on it strong. However, as Punk seems to be at the point of tapping out, Dolph Ziggler comes into the ring and dives down onto Cena.

Winner of the match via disqualification, John Cena (11:13) ***3/4

Ziggler fires away with shots onto the World Champion. Cena gets up and is met with more shots. He takes him into the corner and bashes at the head until Cena pushes him off to the side. Ziggler comes storming back and gets tossed to the outside. Cena then makes his way to the middle of the ring where he trades shots with Punk. He ends up losing the battle and Punk lifts him for the GTS once again. He takes too long, however, and Cena manages to slip off and fire away with strike after strike before getting him to the ropes and clotheslining him over. He raises his hands up in his signature taunt as the crowd gives a momentary boo as Ziggler comes right into the ring and nails the Zig Zag from behind! He demands the referee get him the world title and he does. Ziggler places a foot on Cena's chest and raises up the gold high above his head, bringing it down for a kiss finally to bring an end to Raw.

Michaels vs. Miz was a nice quick paced opener it seemed to start off RAW. Interesting that Miz got the win too, maybe that'll go somewhere? Nice promo by Ziggler, good way to get the crowd to hate him. Not too sure on Kaitlyn being his manager, though. They don't really mesh. The falls count anywhere match was insane! I don't think they could have kicked out of all that, but really awesome match nonetheless. Happy that Morrison won the title in such a cool fashion. I liked the segment with Vince and Taker, glad Vince got a new theme haha. But I don't know if Vince would have the balls to spit in Undertaker's face like that. Ryan and Sheamus are on some icey waters, man. I liked the whole thing with Jericho beating the previous winner and saying that it's his this year, really cool. Cena and Punk had an epic match, and I liked most of the aftermath. Not too sure on Cena taking his eyes off of Ziggler just to taunt, though. Overall it was a good show, keep this going.

-Great start to the show, Michaels looks to be now somewhat someone who loses to up and coming stars to give them something big to brag on. -I liked Ziggler's promo. It looked like him alot, and it's nice to see Kaitlyn coming into RAW now. -Morrison winning the Intercontinental Championship is epic. He showed that Morrison that beat CM Punk back in 2010. Great match. -More hype for the Undertaker/McMahon feud. It was me really excited for what's gonna happen. -Sheamus and Ryan would make a nice team, I hope they allign. -Cena going over via DQ makes Ziggler and Cena strong. Smartest way to go. -Good show.
