hdmi cables bring higher quality (but which one to buy is depending on your tv [ 720p or 1080p, the latter being the higher quality]) and yes you do need an extra one for your 360 (your tv should have more than one hdmi port). Also, are you watching HD channels?
Hdmi cables are way too overpriced at retail stores, look on amazon or ebay, they tend to range from a couple cents (plus shipping) to a few dollars. Unfortunately, there have been reviews that those give out within a few days. I've had mine for about a year and still working though.

SO hdmi cables will sharpen the pic quality on basic channels and i'll get a crisp pic with HD broadcast shows like ESPN/ WWE/TNA or do i need to watch everything on the HD channels, meaning I need to order HD on my cable provider? PS-thanks for the help. Be quiet yerp

If you want to watch WWE in HD, you have to watch it live depending on where you live. (Ex. I live in California so Raw starts for me at 6 on USAHD rather than at 9 on USA). Yeah, like I said early, look of HDMI cables online, unless you're loaded with cash and want to buy the $50+ monster cables at a retail.

Ebay is the cheapest place to buy HDMI cables. Don't get anything over $5 and make sure it's 1.3. Cables are all the same except for the name on the packaging.

Unless you want to constantly unplug and re-plug the cable in between your cable box and 360, you will need a separate cable. If you have a separate sound system, then you will need to have to either have the system output both video and audio to the TV (if it's possible) or you're going to need to look into connecting them to both, which will likely require using two cables.

Does your tv have a HD tuner in it? What I mean is if it has that than you can get ABC,NBC,CBS,UPN,FOX, and the channel smackdown is on without a HD box. Like in my area they are channels like 4.1,5.1,5.2,7.1,7.2,9.1,9.2........................... You get the idea.
If you have that you just need to plug in your co-ax cable into the tv and you automatically get those.

i bought the Westinghouse 32inch at Target on Black Friday.
Answered my question about the cables, but one other thing I was wondering.
what's the difference between HDMI & HDMI - DVI cables? I have both hookups on the back of the TV

Answered my question about the cables, but one other thing I was wondering. what's the difference between HDMI & HDMI - DVI cables? I have both hookups on the back of the TV HDMI cables have male HDMI ports on both ends (usually for dvd players, xbox, cable box etc.) HDMI to DVI cables are ones with Male HDMI port on one end with a Male DVI port on the other (used usually if you want to connect your pc to the television because some pc's have female dvi/mini dvi ports) hope that helps. HDMI-DVI HDMI

Also, depending on your TV provider's box, you can get HD through component cables, those are the red, blue and green. I work for AT&T uverse and I can tell you the component cables are a little lower quality, but are cheaper and more dependable than HDMI cables. If you already bought an HDMI, use it until it fails, then get component.
