Just curious to see this.
Who would you rather see play Boise St in the Fiesta Bowl?

Penn State is horrid that plays a weak ass cupcake schedule. Anytime they play any decent team.....they get beat. See Ohio St. and Iowa.

I thought about this for a few, considering all the tie ins (and who I THINK will win the last week of games) here's what I set up my bowl schedule like
National Title Game Alabama (SEC #1) vs Texas (Big12 #1)
Fiesta Bowl Boise St (At large) vs Iowa (At Large)
Sugar Bowl Florida (SEC #2) vs Cincy (At Large)
Rose Bowl Ohio St (Big10 #1) vs Oregon (Pac10 #1)
Orange Bowl Ga Tech (ACC #1) vs TCU (At Large)

I'd go with Penn State. I think it would be an interesting matchup seeing JoePa vs the 47-4 Chris Petersen

I just like Pryor from high school and a few other players like Dorian Bell and Corey Brown.

5-1 for PSU. Just shows people know nothing about college football and vote based on the team they heard of. Iowa beat PSU this year. Discussion over.

Iowa is ranked higher then PSU, beat PSU head to head AND you cant have 3 teams in the BCS from the same conference. OSU is a lock, Iowa is an at large. PSU goes to the Outback

While they may be voting that way it's not neccesarily an indication as to whether or not they know anything about college football. Maybe ask the B12 decision makers last year that chose Oklahoma over Texas or the Outback bowl committee that chose iowa over Northwestern even though they had the same record AND NW beat iowa head to head. The College football machine and the knowledge therof, has alot of basis in perception which is fuled by what we in this capitalist community like to call...money. Right or wrong, it is what it is, and certainly leaves the door open to many a discussion. G2-It's cap one probably.

Don't act like they're the only team who plays an easy non-conference schedule. At least they win those games (I'm looking at you Michigan, Notre Dame). And we pull starters against the "creampuffs" sometimes as early as the third quarter, because running up the score against small schools is a douchebag move (*cough* Florida *cough*).
But stop trying to use logic and reasoning to figure out the BCS. It makes no sense whatsoever. If they think PSU will draw more money than Iowa, it'll happen.

Florida, Alabama, texas, etc, they all have cupcake schedules. And I'll disagree that PSU is constantly overrated in the polls. If anything, the media hates Penn state and has so for years...see 5 undefeated seasons and no national titles, or 1994 and denied a national title in favor of nebraska. 3 years before, Washington and Miami split the national title. 3 years later-Michigan and Nebraska. As far as the polls, In 2008 with 3/4 of there starters back, PSU starts in at #22 while WVU, losing slaton and white comes in at #8...PSU to the Rose, WVU in the bowl. the polls are a joke and again always leans towards what is the "perceived" best teams. As far as being aweful? sure they lost to Iowa and Ohio state and I'd say Iowa was the better team, that day. Why might I say that? You wanna talk about aweful and playing cupcakes? Let's take a look at Iowa's body of work- How about 2 blocked field goals to beat Northern Iowa, or a 3 point win over Arkansas state, or a loss to Northwestern, a team we beat by 3 touchdowns! Or squeaking out victories over Michigan state, Michigan, and Indiana. teams we clearly handled. Again, Iowa was the better team that day, but play 5 games and penn state wins that series every time!

Easy non conference AND easy in conference. Outside of Ohio St and Iowa, 2 bottom half top 25 teams....they really play no one. PSU is notorious for this. Yes, Notre Dame had an easy schedule this year........but thats not the case most of the season, unlike PSU. I cant disagree with what you said. But PSU is freaking awful that plays a cupcake schedule and is constantly over rated by polls b/c of a national following. your personal disdain aside, as well as my personal bias, every team plays cupcakes. Florida and Bama have cupcakes on their schedule.....but to try and compare them to PSU's schedule is laughable. First off they play in the SEC, one of if not the best conference in college football. Secondly, even if they beat everyone on their schedule......they still have to play an SEC championship game.....usually against another top 10 school.....in this case, 1 and 2. So what if PSU returns their starters? If you return average players, you deserve an average ranking. But the polls show favortism and rank them #22, when they had no business getting a rank that high. You mention their trip to the Rose Bowl. It was more like lambs to a slaughter. They were annihilated by USC and proven why PSU does not belong in a big time national bowl game. There is no fun in that. But even the bookies love to give PSU the praise, as they made them just a 1 TD dog. Thanks bookies! I won a grand on Joe Pa and PSU's ineptitude and USC's dominance. In addition, I never said that Iowa was such a fantastic team. All I was doing was answering the question between Iowa and PSU. You talk about blocked field goals against Northern Iowa and a slim win against Ark. St.......those are all excellent points in how Iowa is but an average team and your boys at PSU got BEAT by this average team......2 YEARS IN A ROW. Face it....PSU is a slightly below average team....probably in the top 30-40 teams that pads its win column with Florida Atlantic, HACC and some school for the blind. They parlay those "wins" into a bowl game trip. Then if they face a team with any type of credibility like last year.....they get annihilated. If they play some D-II school and clobber them, fans of PSU go ape crapand talk about how they will win the national title next year.

If he was at PSU, he would sit his first season and then hit the learning curve in his second. He would be a senior before he would get any pro prospects, cuz Joe Pa doesnt like to start freshman. Thats so 30 years ago of him.

I know there is a lot of Big Ten fans here but the Big Ten really is over rated when it comes to strength of their schedules. They're about on part with the ACC (note I am an ACC fan).
On any average year you have OSU, Michigan and Penn State as your top teams. MSU, Wis are usally 50/50 teams. You never know what team is gonna show up on the field. Iowa seems to be good every 3-5 years and the rest of the league is just terrible.
The SEC is by far the toughest conference, I would go Big 12 next just because you usually have at least 4 ranked teams from there. Then ACC and Big 10 would be a toss up. I would choose ACC personally as our bottom dwellers Duke, Wake etc are still better then Big 10s of Indiana and Northwestern
