I figure since we're almost a week out from this event, let's get the talking started now.

Only a complete and utter schooling will get Kongo cut. While I'm not a fan of his at all, I just think that someone of his ilk, the kind that likes to do nothing but brawl and try to KTFO people, will always have a home in the UFC because a large portion of the UFC's fanbase loves a good brawl. Stranger things have happened than a Maia/Marquardt moment with Mir/Kongo. The second this goes to the ground Kongo is toast, though. But who knows, maybe he'll score that lucky punch. That said, I can't  ing wait to see "The Prodigy" prove once and for all that the best Diego could ever hope for in ANY division is to be a gatekeeper. |

DAMN...I can't wait for this one. I like watching Diego fight because the guy is intense...
1. Welterweight Bout: Kevin Burns vs. TJ Grant

8. Lightweight Bout: Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida- I would normally pick Florian. But I think him not training with Mark Delagradi anymore is going to show in a negative way in this fight.
9. Welterweight Bout: Jon Fitch vs. Mike Pierce
10. Heavyweight Bout: Frank Mir vs. Cheick Kongo- If Brandon Vera can TKO Mir I think Kongo can murder Frank Mir. Frank is obviously going to want to take this to the ground where he has a significant advantage but getting in close enough to get the takedown is going to be interesting to see. I hope Kongo KO's Mir. The guy is too cocky. All his sh** talking on Fedor makes me not like the guy. He comes off extremely smug. Kongo will get the KO in the first.
11. Lightweight Championship: BJ Penn (c) vs. Diego Sanchez- I always say I'm not going to bet against BJ Penn anymore..but it is hard to bet against Diego Sanchez because if anyone at the LW division is going to take over I would like to see someone like Diego take it. I know I am going to be the ONLY ONE picking Diego but whatever. I don't see Diego making BJ tap or knocking him out...and I don't see BJ doing that to Diego either. I see this one going to decision..I just hope the decision is in favor of Diego.

burns, demarques, palhares, hendricks, nelson, gouveia, struve, kflo (motn), fitch, mir, bj.
dont know about knockout or sub of the night... if kongo beats mir, thatll likely be knockout of the night, id assume... since thats how hes gonna have to win.

I really can't vote against Diego. I know he is the underdog but I don't see BJ winning this (only if it goes to a decision). I'm really hoping for a new champion and I truely feel like BJ will not be the first man to finish Diego Sanchez. I'm looking forward to this show alot, good way to close out the year. Hopefully in 2010 there will be a new Lightweight champion. Diego is going to finally live his dream (no pun intended).

I know there is the possibility of ANYTHING HAPPENING in mma...but BJ knocking out Diego is probably at the bottom of the "anything can happen" list.

I think its ridicolous to think BJ Couldnt finish Diego. I dont think that fight will go to decision and I think BJ will win. Hell he finished Sean Sherk by TKO. Only one other person finished Sherk and thats GSP. Penn will win this fight and if he doesent then Ill admit I was wrong and I dont doubt Diegos abilities. He is an elite LW but I dont ee anyone in LW beating BJ at this point... But I could deffinatly be wrong. We'll see...

I'm in the same boat as you. I really really really don't see BJ losing just yet. I don't see deigo taping out either so i'm gonna go with BJ with a TKO.

I think BJ will win by underhanded means. Big Country will win the six figure deal on Saturday, then he'll do a run in during the Penn/Diego fight and knockout Diego with his moon belly after the ref takes an accidental bump. The ref will come to and call the match setting up a Penn versus Big Country bout where Big Country tries to cheat the scales in increasingly humorous fashion.
