First off we have a DA NWO Muta. With his pants I went for a paint splatter look. This is more of a combination of a few different pants from him with a little of my own tweaking. With the left leg I just tried to do a simple paint splatter look, and the entire pants have speckles of white paint too, though it almost looks like glitter. The right leg I tried to get a little cute, with the NWO on the upper leg and the rising sun flag on the lower leg(NWO Japan, get it?). I attempted to make the flag have a run effect. I dunno, worth a shot now and again. The head is a cast I made of the Warsman version. It's just easier to cast my own heads so I don't have to buy the same ones over and over-
Second on hand is the Pennywise the Dancing Clown I did for that Thanksgiving show. Now let me address a few things. First, I agree with Becca, I do not like the head. Now I know the pointy teeth look is more popular but I wanted him to be the normal clown, where he's still human but still really creepy. I used a Sheik head cause I thought that with the smaller face the top of the head would look larger, but once the hair was added it didn't look that much bigger. The shape of the face isn't right, I didn't take the time to try and shape it like Curry and that's my biggest complaint about the head. I also dislike the lack of texture to the hair, it's too uniform, I should have done it like I did Joink's hair but that's a-whole-nother conversation.
I tried to use dry brushing a lot more in this, with the yellow and orange both having two different colors. I think the pompoms show it better, it has the depth I was looking to give it, but the yellow looks more solid, I guess the yellows weren't different enough.
Speaking of the pompoms those are my favorite part of the figure. I would have preferred them to extend away from the body more, but I think they have good texture.
Now the reason I used that torso with the crotch is because I wanted his waist to be really wide, and I figured that with a smaller torso on a larger crotch that once I sculpted it together it would give that effect, what I didn't take into consideration is the fact that I couldn't achieve that look since the shoulders are so wide, so instead of it having a large waist it just looks straight up and down. An R3 torso may have been a better choice or so, if I had to do him again I would've tried a different angle.
The vest is the wrong color, I wanted a shiny dark blue but the silver I used was too light not making the blue nearly dark enough. The trim on the vest is also wrong, I have a really good pink I was gunna use for him but I couldn't find it so I made my own and it looks more purple.
Thankfully he sold decent enough so that it wasn't a complete waste. I like working on things non wrestling related but if I'm stuck with them afterwards I really don't see the point. I should make more popular people if I keep accepting these non wrestling stipulations.
For a bonus here's a Crush head I did. Yeah, I know, everyone does Crushs now, but I made a mold of his head and wanted to give him different hair since the hair the Jakks one has works for only a part of his career. This is my bandanaless DOA/NWO Crush head. I figured that since I can make as many as I want i might as well try some different ones, but since the market is flooded with him who knows if he'll sell.
