-Decent promo. Benjamin/Dreamer should be good. -Jackson and Goldust over Regal and Burchill via DQ is fine. -RVD over Archer is good since he just returned. -Dreamer over Benjamin is good. Two extreme rules matches in two weeks might be a too much. -Good show just not sure about two Extreme Rules Matches in two weeks.

-Wow, Tommy Dreamer as a heel? Great idea to be honest -Weird combination of Jackson & Goldust. Liked Burchill looking dominant at the end -Rob Van Dam over Vance Archer was the right call, not sure about RVD saying Christian can't beat Archer though -Love that Wade Barrett is being brought in as the next big thing on ECW it seems -Dreamer bringing Extreme back to ECW is a great angle in my opinion. Not sure if he should be the focus of the show considering you have a huge ECW Title match this Sunday
Good show, a few things I disagree with, but overall a good read.

Charlie Haas Defeated Dolph Ziggler | What many expected to be an easy win for the Intercontinental Champion turned into a nightmare as a well timed distraction courtesy of R-Truth led to Haas rolling Ziggler up for the shock win. |
Following the intro video we are taken to Todd Grisham and Matt Striker who run down tonight’s card, featuring a tag team main event with Edge & John Morrison clashing with World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and Batista, plus The Undertaker versus Drew McIntyre in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match and CM Punk taking on Montel Vontavious Porter plus so much more. They’re interrupted by the music of the World Championship himself. Chris Jericho makes his way down to the ring, being handed a microphone after entering. He taunts the fans, holding up the World Heavyweight Championship that he successfully defended against The Undertaker last week. Jericho begins talking about that exact match and how he proved to everyone his World Heavyweight Championship win wasn’t a fluke because he is the greatest wrestler on SmackDown. He turns his attention to his challenger this Sunday, John Morrison. Jericho states that Morrison is just a warm up match for him as he marches into WrestleMania where he intends to prove himself as the greatest World Champion ever. John Morrison interrupts as he hits the stage, microphone in hand. Morrison mocks Jericho, making a few jokes at his expense and stating that this Sunday the era of the Friday Night Delight begins as Morrison wins his first World title. Jericho and Morrison go back and forth, arguing about who is the better man before Morrison gets the last word, telling Jericho that in tonight’s tag match, he’ll show everyone that he can pin Chris Jericho. Morrison walks to the back as SmackDown cuts to commercials. Matt Hardy Defeated Carlito | Matt Hardy has been one upped by Chavo Guerrero twice in the past two weeks so he was definitely looking to come out on top here. A back and forth match saw both men get plenty of offence in but it was Chavo Guerrero who was once again the difference maker but not in the way he would have liked as an attempted distraction led to Carlito arguing with him to leave before turning straight into a Twist of Fate from Matt for the win. Matt Hardy taunts Chavo who is furious at ringside as we fade to black. |
We cut to the locker room of Montel Vontavious Porter, who is getting ready for his match with CM Punk later tonight. The Straight Edge Society walk into the locker room and MVP is immediately on the defensive, preparing for an attack. Punk tells him to calm down and that he’s only here to warn MVP about getting in his way this Sunday in the Elimination Chamber match. Punk calls headlining WrestleMania his destiny and that if MVP gets in his way there will be trouble. MVP laughs, telling Punk that he doesn’t back down to anybody and that they’ll see each other later tonight. The Straight Edge Society leave as MVP watches on as we cut to commercials. Beth Phoenix, Maria & Brie Bella Defeated Michelle McCool, Layla & Serena | The recent feud between Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and her challenger this Sunday Beth Phoenix was on display in this six Diva’s tag team match. While the main focus was of course on McCool and Phoenix Serena played an important piece as she constantly argued with her own teammates about their lifestyles. The ending saw Phoenix his the Glam Slam of Layla to get the pinfall. Phoenix signals that she is coming for McCool this Sunday as we fade to black. |
We open up on Theodore Long’s locker room when Drew McIntyre comes storming in, shouting at Long about being booked against The Undertaker tonight, saying that Vince McMahon doesn’t approve. Long points out that he’s the general manager and that Vince isn’t here tonight, so McIntyre will face whoever he decides he will face. McIntyre is furious, but tells Long that he’s going to prove them all wrong about him by defeating The Undertaker and qualifying for the Elimination Chamber match this Sunday. Long wishes him luck but McIntyre just storms out. Montel Vontavious Porter Defeated CM Punk | In a preview of the Elimination Chamber match this Sunday CM Punk was on his own with Serena already having been in action and Gallows scheduled to compete later tonight. Porter came into this match determined to prove he deserves to be in the Elimination Chamber match and he did exactly that in a very competitive match. Both men went all out and either could have won. Punk looked like he had it in the bag when he set MVP up for the GTS but Porter slipped out and connected with the Playmaker to get the pinfall. Post match Porter celebrated the win having built momentum in the build up to No Way Out. SmackDown cuts to commercials. |
We return from commercial to see Courtney Taylor standing by with the man who will face Batista this Sunday, Edge. Taylor asks Edge what he thinks about the stipulation of the match – if Edge loses then his title match at WrestleMania becomes a triple threat match including Batista. Edge states that he doesn’t really have any worries because he knows he can defeat both Batista and either World Champion but that he doesn’t intend to take that risk so his focus is currently on defeating Batista this Sunday. Courtney also asks Edge when he’ll reveal which Championship he’ll be challenging for at WrestleMania. Edge grins and says that he’ll make that announcement this Sunday at No Way Out. Edge walks off as we cut to ringside. Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match | The Undertaker Defeated Drew McIntyre | The final Elimination Chamber match ahead of the big match this Sunday saw Drew McIntyre face his biggest challenge yet. The Undertaker was focused and angry here after losing out in his World Heavyweight Championship rematch to Chris Jericho last week and he took that anger out on McIntyre here, slowly tearing him apart throughout this match. McIntyre got in his own offence and was made to look like a match for The Undertaker and even came close to winning the match a few times but it was The Undertaker who came out on top following the Tombstone Piledriver. The Undertaker did his signature pose in the ring, promising to be a dominant force this Sunday. |
We cut backstage where Theodore Long is once again sat in his office when Batista comes in, grinning to himself. Batista mocks Long, telling him that he clearly doesn’t know a good thing when he sees it. Long asks Batista what he wants and Batista says nothing, because as he proved last week when he wants something he goes out and gets it himself. Batista tells Long that he’ll regret not giving him what he wants when he defeats Edge and goes on to win a triple threat match to become the new World Champion. Long asks Batista if that’s it and Batista simply says “for now” before walking out as SmackDown cuts to commercials Luke Gallows Defeated Eric Escobar | There wasn’t much to this match as Escobar’s career continues to fizzle out on SmackDown. Gallows is looking better than ever and he could really be looking at a big push in the coming months along with the Straight Edge Society. Gallows dominated a large portion of this match, eventually putting Escobar away with the Gallows pole. Following the match Rey Mysterio rolled into the ring from behind Gallows and nailed him with a Dropkick followed by the 619, obviously getting revenge for Gallows costing him his match with CM Punk last week. |
We cut backstage where R-Truth is seen wishing John Morrison luck as Morrison heads towards the ringside area for tonight’s tag team main event. Suddenly Dolph Ziggler attacks R-Truth from behind, slamming his head into the wall. Ziggler screams at R-Truth, telling him he should never had crossed him before nailing him in the head with the Intercontinental Championship. Ziggler grins and walks off as backstage staff check on an unconscious and hurt R-Truth. A video package airs promoting the No Way Out Pay Per View, which airs this Sunday! It focuses on the World Heavyweight Championship match between Chris Jericho and John Morrison. SmackDown then cuts to commercials. Edge & John Morrison Defeated Chris Jericho & Batista | A preview of two separate matches this Sunday and a potential preview of some of superstars who could be involved in SmackDown’s WrestleMania 26 main event. Edge tried to keep his mind on Batista but with former tag team partner and potential opponent Chris Jericho in the ring he looked cautious, knowing the damage both could cause. John Morrison looked right at home with the main eventers in the ring and may very well be a legitimate threat to the World Heavyweight Champion this Sunday, especially if the ending is anything to go by as Morrison capitalised on a Spear to Jericho by connecting with Starship Pain to get the pinfall. |
John Morrison celebrates the victory having done exactly what he said – pinned the World Heavyweight Champion. Batista enters the ring and prepares to hit Morrison with a Spear but Edge comes out of nowhere with one of his own on a charging Batista. SmackDown comes to an end with Edge and John Morrison raising each other’s arms, standing tall over their No Way Out opponents as we fade to black.

-A shocker on Superstars. If this leads to Haas coming back, it should be nice. -Good promo with Morrison and Jericho. Won't hurt me at all whoever wins but it looks like you're leaning on Edge/Jericho considering what they've done in real-life. -Nice to see Hardy over Guerrero. Hardy is a better competition and I hope this leads to a push. -Happy to see the heels win. Hope to see Serena take the gold. -Great first hour main event. MVP over Punk was fine either way. -The Undertaker over McIntyre was an obvious call. Either could've been the main event but still I like it. -Gallows over Escobar keeps SES strong since Punk already lost and Serena won. -Good main event to showcase No Way Out. Edge and Morrison standing tall is nice.

- A solid opening promo. Expecting Jericho to win on Sunday, however. - Chavo costing Carlito the match is interesting, but either way - a Hardy win is great. - A typo in the result there as you have it say the heel divas winning and Beth getting the pinfall. - MVP defeating Punk is good. He needs more momentum into Sunday, although I don't expect him to win. - Taker over McIntyre was the obvious call as McIntyre shouldn't defeat Taker until the far future ahead. - Escobar jobbing out to Gallows is good as Escobar is really nothing anymore except on his way to future endeavors. - A good main event, and Morrison picking up the win over Jericho is huge. But once again, I expect Y2J to get the win.
A good show.

21st February 2010 | ST. LOUIS, Mo. |
Following a video package we get a big pyrotechnic display, followed by the introduction of the three announce teams. ECW is represented by Joey Styles and Byron Saxton, who hype the ECW Championship match between Christian and Rob Van Dam. SmackDown is represented by Matt Striker and Josh Matthews, who promote Chris Jericho defending the World Heavyweight Championship against John Morrison, Edge versus Batista and the Women’s Championship match. RAW is represented by Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, who hype the Street Fight between WWE Champion Big show and John Cena, The Miz defending the United States title against Sheamus, and of course tonight’s main event – an Interbrand Elimination Chamber match for the right to challenge a World Champion at WrestleMania. WWE United States Championship Match | Sheamus Defeated The Miz [C] via DQ | The Miz has been ducking Sheamus for weeks and it’s easy to see why as when these two finally met one on one in the ring Sheamus was really gunning for The Miz wanting to not only defeat him but take him out completely. Sheamus was actually getting a good reaction here after his recent work as a tweener while The Miz was generation insane heat. These two put on a solid match, going back and forth with Sheamus focusing on his strength and power advantage while The Miz tried to avoid Sheamus and attack him with quick moves and underhanded tactics. Sheamus came close to winning a number of times and at one point it looked certain that we’d have a new United States Championship when Sheamus connected with the Brogue Kick on Miz but the force sent him straight out of the ring stopping Sheamus from making the cover. Sheamus exited the ring and grabbed Miz but he sent him crashing into the ringside steps, giving Miz time to catch his breath. Miz grabbed the United States title from ringside but was caught off guard by Sheamus, who nailed him with a right hand and threw him into the ring, the title still in his hands. Sheamus entered the ring and set Miz up for the Celtic Cross but Miz escaped the move, landing behind Sheamus and grabbing the United States title once again, this time nailing Sheamus in the skull with it, causing the Disqualification. |
Following the match The Miz celebrated as if he has just won the match. While Sheamus may be the victory The Miz retains the United States Championship thanks to the DQ finish. Sheamus slowly gets to his feet without The Miz noticing and when Miz turns around he is met with another Brogue Kick, this one knocking him clean out. Sheamus stands tall over The Miz to a good reaction. He may not have won the title, but he certainly looks like the victory here tonight. We cut backstage where Todd Grisham is standing by with John Morrison. Grisham asks Morrison about whether he is nervous going into his World Heavyweight Championship match later tonight. Morrison states that of course he’s nervous because this is the biggest match of his career so far but that he’s confident he can go out there and put on the performance of his life and walk away as the new World Heavyweight Champion. He continues to say that Chris Jericho may think he’s the biggest thing on SmackDown but that the only big thing about him is his ego, and that Morrison intends to deflate that ego here tonight. Morrison heads off as we return to ringside. ECW Heavyweight Championship Match | Rob Van Dam Defeated Christian [C] | ECW’s offering tonight pitted one of the most successful ECW Champions in history against a man who personifies Extreme and with these two in the same ring, this one promised to be an excellent match. The crowd didn’t know who to get behind although there was a clear section of real ECW faithful who were firmly behind Rob Van Dam. These two gave it everything they had unloading with every move in their arsenal. Van Dam’s kicks were a clear factor in this match, hitting so hard that each one rocked Christian. Christian fought back and connected with a picture perfect missile dropkick to turn the tide of the match. The pair went back and forth giving it everything they had before Christian managed to connect with the Killswitch making it look certain that he would retain the title. Somehow Van Dam managed to kick out however and the match continued with RVD connecting with the Rolling Thunder only for Christian to kick out. Van Dam went up high aiming for the Five Star Frog Splash but Christian rolled out of the way at the last minute, Van Dam crashing and burning right into the mat. Christian attempted the pinfall but Van Dam kicked out once again. A frustrated and desperate Christian once again went for the Killswitch but Rob Van Dam managed to counter it, pushing Christian into the turnbuckle before connecting with a big jumping roundhouse kick when Christian turned back around. RVD followed this up with the Five Star Frog Splash, this time managing to connect with the move and get the pinfall! |
Rob Van Dam slowly gets to his feet, using the ring ropes for assistance, and the referee hands him the ECW Championship. Van Dam lifts the title high, getting a massive pop from the crowd and a huge chant of “ECW” right around the arena. Christian climbs to his feet and comes face to face with the man who has just ended his six month title reign. Christian offer out a hand and Van Dam takes it almost immediately, getting another pop from the crowd. Christian raises Van Dam’s arm as the victor before leaving the ring, giving Rob Van Dam his moment of glory. We’re backstage with Todd Grisham who is standing by with the man who will go one on one with Edge later tonight, Batista. Grisham asks Batista for his thoughts on his match tonight and who he would prefer Edge to choose if he was to win. Batista asks Grisham why he said ‘if’ when they both know that he is going to leave tonight victorious. Batista says that Edge still isn’t 100% and that they both know it, and that they’re match tonight is just a formality. Batista goes on to say that he doesn’t care who Edge chooses to face at WrestleMania because he’ll be right there as well and that no matter if it’s Big Show, John Cena, Chris Jericho or John Morrison, it will be Batista walking away as World Champion. Batista leaves as we return to ringside ready for the World Heavyweight Championship Match. World Heavyweight Championship Match | Chris Jericho [C] Defeated John Morrison | The third of five title matches here tonight and with the champion having lost both of the prior two matches the odds weren’t looking good for Chris Jericho. It didn’t help that John Morrison had a lot of support from the crowd, everyone pulling for him to win the title tonight. These two were pretty evenly matched as they squared off and both spent the opening moments trying to scout the other out and find some weak point which certainly wouldn’t be easy. Jericho took control early thanks to his experience edge, neutralising Morrison with submission holds that kept him from getting in much offence. However Morrison wasn’t just going to throw away his big chance and soon managed to counter a sleeper hold and send Jericho face first into the turnbuckle before following up with the Flying Chuck to take Jericho out and give Morrison time to breathe. From there the two men really went at it and Morrison held his own against the World Heavyweight Champion and this could be the start of a big main event run for the SmackDown star. One of the top spots in the match saw Jericho retreat outside the ring only for Morrison to leap onto the top rope and connect with an insane Shooting Star Press onto Jericho, sending both of them crashing into the announce table. Morrison recovered first and rolled Jericho into the ring, setting him up for the Starship Pain but when Morrison went for the move Jericho stuck a foot up the went straight into the ribs of Morrison. Jericho followed up with the Codebreaker and went for the pinfall only for Morrison to kick out! A furious Jericho proceeded to lock in the Walls of Jericho and while Morrison tried to hold on he eventually had no choice but to tap out, giving Chris Jericho the victory. |
Chris Jericho gets to his feet and is handed his World Heavyweight Championship following a successful title defence to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Morrison slowly gets to his feet but he’s met by another Codebreaker from Jericho to the anger of the crowd. Suddenly Edge is behind Jericho and when he turns around he’s met by a massive Spear, leaving Edge standing over a completely out of it Chris Jericho. Edge raises the World Heavyweight Championship, making his decision perfectly clear about which World Champion he will be challenging at WrestleMania, but will Batista be joining him to make it a triple threat? We’ll find out later tonight. We cut backstage where Rob Van Dam, holding the ECW Championship on his shoulder, is shown being congratulated by long time friend Rey Mysterio about his ECW Championship win. Tommy Dreamer walks up to them, congratulating Rob Van Dam but telling him not to get to comfortable with the belt, because he’s next in line for the title. Van Dam tells him to bring it on and Dreamer says he will, stating he’s already taken out two ECW competitors across the past two weeks and that he’s willing to destroy the entire ECW roster to show them all when Extreme really means. Dreamer taps the ECW title and walks off, leaving Van Dam and Mysterio confused about his change in behaviour. Women’s Championship Match | Beth Phoenix Defeated Michelle McCool [C] | The recent feud between Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix has been anything but respectful as McCool really made things personal with a brutal attack on Beth Phoenix three weeks ago on SmackDown. Because of that Beth was clearly looking for revenge and she isn’t a woman you want gunning for you as McCool found out in this match. As soon as the bell rung McCool attempted to charge at Phoenix only to have her head taken off by a vicious clothesline. McCool managed to fight back and the match went back and forth, McCool using every trick she could think of to try and win this one while Beth relied on her clear strength advantage. Mid way through the match Layla tried interfering but all she got for her trouble was Beth meeting her at the bottom of the ramp with a clothesline followed by a Glam Slam onto the steel of the ramp. McCool used this to her advantage nailing Beth with a heel hook kick before rolling her back into the ring and connecting with the Faithbreaker only for Beth to kick out of the pinfall attempt. McCool picked Beth up and was preparing to try for the Faithbreaker again but Beth stopped the attempt dead with a vicious right hand that rocked McCool and made her easy pickings for the Glam Slam to give Beth Phoenix the pinfall and the Women’s Championship! |
Beth Phoenix is handed the Women’s Championship and raises it above her head having finally gotten the better of Michelle McCool. McCool is pulled out of the ring by an equally hurt Layla and the pair slowly help each other up the ramp while Beth taunts them from the ring with her newly won Women’s Championship! We’re now with Courtney Taylor who is alongside CM Punk and the Straight Edge Alliance, getting his thoughts on the Elimination Chamber match later tonight. Punk says that the Elimination Chamber is a barbaric structure and that somebody of his calibre shouldn’t need to be locked up inside such a monstrosity along with five sinners. Punk mocks all five of his competitors, calling Triple H a ‘part time cripple’, Montel Vontavious Porter a ‘street thug’, Ted DiBiase a ‘rich kid with no talent’, Randy Orton ‘the blandest man on the planet’ and The Undertaker a ‘delusional freakshow’. CM Punk promises to overcome all of his opponents and go on to WrestleMania where he can show the Straight Edge lifestyle to the biggest crowd possible. The Straight Edge Society walk off as we return from ringside. A video package airs promoting the upcoming match between Edge and Batista. It chronicles Edge’s injury eight months ago and how he had to forfeit the Unified Tag Team title he co-held with now World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho up to his Royal Rumble return and victory, before cutting to how Batista attacked Edge in order to get this match. If Batista Wins, He is Added to WrestleMania’s World Heavyweight Championship Match | Batista Defeated Edge | The ramifications of this match were made fully apparent just earlier tonight when Edge revealed his WrestleMania opponent would be World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho. As a result if Edge won this match he would face Jericho one on one while if Batista won it would become a triple threat match. This meant that there was everything to fight for in this match with Edge knowing full well his chances of become World Champion would be a lot harder with Batista in the match and Batista wanting to ‘get the big money’ as he put it the past few weeks on SmackDown. Batista had a clear game plan from the very beginning of this match and that was to target the ankle of Edge in the hope that Edge’s Achilles tendon still was not 100%. Edge did everything he could to ensure that Batista didn’t get that opportunity but there’s only so much you can do when a monster of a man has targeted you. Edge came out fighting though and you’d find it difficult to say that he still doesn’t have plenty left in the tank. Batista’s strategy seemed to start working mid way through the match as Edge found it difficult to put pressure down following a press slam from Batista that purposely had Edge landing on the leg in an awkward position. From there Edge was on the defensive as Batista slowly worked away at him. Edge nearly got the win after a Spear out of nowhere but Batista managed to kick out and connect with a Spear of his own. Edge had little left to give as Batista connected with the Spinebuster followed by the Batista Bomb to get the pinfall! |
Everyone is shocked as Batista celebrates the victory, having gained his way into the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania, which will now be Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Batista. Edge slowly gets to his feet and as Batista turns around he is met by a big Spear courtesy of Edge, a little payback for the Rated R Superstar. However Chris Jericho rolled into the ring behind Edge and as Edge turned he was met by the World Heavyweight Championship straight to the skull as revenge for Edge’s earlier attack. Jericho holds the World title up high with both Edge and Batista laid out as we fade to black. We cut backstage where Todd Grisham is standing by with the man who will challenge for the WWE Championship next, John Cena. Grisham asks for his thoughts on the match and Cena tells him to shut it, because he isn’t in the mood for laughs tonight. Cena talks about how up next he will compete in what promises to be one of the toughest matches of his career, a Street Fight against the giant Big Show. Cena says that he may be outmatched in height and weight but that he has the passion and the desire to take back his WWE Championship. John Cena says that he is the man everybody came to see and that once he defeats the Big Show tonight he’ll be watching the Elimination Chamber match since he’ll be the one who has to face the winner. Cena marches off as we cut to a video package. A video package airs promoting the recent feud between John Cena and Big Show. It shows how the Big Show defeated John Cena back at the Royal Rumble pay per view to become the new WWE Champion and how ever since Cena has been on the warpath in order to get his rematch and prove he can topple the giant. Street Fight for the WWE Championship | John Cena Defeated Big Show [C] | The feud between these two has been going on for the past two months and it finally came to an end tonight in a match that has no rules meaning there had to be a winner. Cena came into this match more focused that ever, determined to win back the WWE Championship that he lost last month to Big Show but it certainly wasn’t going to be easy because his opponent was the man with the knockout hand, Big Show. These two had clear gameplans and they came into play early on in this match. Big Show was focusing on just destroying John Cena, ripping him apart both inside and outside of the ring while John Cena worked at taking out the Big Show’s biggest weapon – the knockout hand, knowing that if he could eliminate that hand then both the Knockout Punch and the Chokeslam from the Big Show’s arsenal. Because of this, and the clear determination from both men to win no matter the cost, weapons came into play in this match and in a big way. Cena tried to use the steel steps to take out the hand and it worked in a way, just not the way Cena would have wanted, as Big Show punched them straight back into the face of Cena. The fight was taken all around the ringside area and ended up by the announce tables. Big Show grabbed Cena around the throat, preparing to deliver a Chokeslam to Cena straight through the table. John Cena managed to escape the giant grasp and then did when many seemed impossible, lifting Big Show up for the Attitude Adjustment and delivering it straight through the announce table! Big Show was completely out of it as Cena somehow found the strength to pick Big Show up and roll him into the ring. Cena went for the pinfall and got the three, winning back the WWE Championship he lost last month! |
John Cena slowly gets to his feet, battered and bruised from the match. The referee grabs the WWE Championship from ringside and hands it to John Cena, who begins celebrating in the ring, having once again become the WWE Champion for a sixth time and having achieved exactly what he said he would – he defeated the mammoth Big Show and proved that he deserves to be the WWE Champion. Before we cut away from the scene Michael Cole points out that due to Edge’s decision to challenge Chris Jericho at WrestleMania whoever wins the upcoming Elimination Chamber match will face the WWE Champion, currently John Cena, at WrestleMania! A video package plays, running down the Elimination Chamber match. It highlights past Elimination Chamber matches and runs down what it takes to win. It ends promoting that the victor will challenge for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 26! Elimination Chamber Match to Challenge the WWE Champion at WrestleMania 26 | The Undertaker Defeated CM Punk, Triple H, Ted DiBiase, Randy Orton & Montel Vontavious Porter | This was it, main event time with a lot of on the line as the winner would go on to challenge for the WWE Championship at the grandest stage of them all. Triple H and Montel Vontavious Porter started things off, two fan favourites going at it inside this giant steel structure. MVP managed to hold his own against a man who has competed in more Elimination Chamber matches than any other and the pair put on some great action. CM Punk was in third and he immediately went after MVP, trying to create an alliance with Triple H but Triple H was having any of it, delivering a swift right hand to CM Punk. Triple H and MVP took the fight to CM Punk, who managed to deliver a nice dropkick to MVP to take him out of the fight temporarily and make it one on one, but that didn’t really help as Triple H threw CM Punk around the Chamber. CM Punk managed to hold on as the fourth entrant was revealed to be Randy Orton. Orton didn’t hold anything back as he immediately went after MVP and did it in style, stalking him in the ring and attacking whenever he could while Triple H continued to brawl with CM Punk outside on the steel plating. Orton threw MVP to the outside and proceeded to deliver a thunderous RKO right on top of the Steel. It was then simple work for Orton to get the pinfall. (Montel Vontavious Porter Eliminated) Orton then went after Triple H, forging a loose alliance with CM Punk to double team him, visibly weakening The Game. No matter what they tried however they just could not put Triple H down for the count. CM Punk went for the GTS but Triple H managed to slip out the back. Triple H then went for the Pedigree on Punk but Randy Orton stopped the move, somehow connecting with the RKO! Orton went for the cover but once again Triple H refused to give up, kicking out of the move as Ted DiBiase entered the match. There was a tense staredown between Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase before the two finally came to blows while CM Punk continued his attack on Triple H. Surprisingly Ted DiBiase really held his own against his former mentor but Orton eventually got the upper hand, his experience winning through. The two fought all around the Chamber but eventually Orton looked set to take DiBiase out after he threw him clean into one of the pods, breaking the door in the process. Orton threw DiBiase back into the ring and prepared to deliver the RKO. As he went for the finishing move however something shocking happened. Ted DiBiase countered the move and rolled Orton up to get the three count and to eliminate his former mentor and Legacy stablemate! (Randy Orton Eliminated) Randy was obviously furious at these latest turn of events and without even hesitating delivered an RKO to DiBiase. Punk saw this and pounced to get the pinfall, Randy Orton having been instrumental in eliminating Ted DiBiase. (Ted DiBiase Eliminated) That’s when it happened. Triple H and CM Punk came eye to eye as the final entrants pod opened and The Undertaker was unleashed into the match. Triple H and CM Punk knew they couldn’t handle the Deadman alone and forged a very tense alliance to go against him. They seemed to be doing an alright job but The Undertaker was just too strong for them despite the numbers game. There was always that tense feeling that CM Punk was going to turn on Triple H as they fought with The Undertaker and that did happen, but not before something even more shocking. Triple H’s Degeneration X partner Shawn Michaels walked down to ringside, staring emotionlessly at Triple H. Triple H was distracted by Shawn’s prescence, not sure why he was out there which meant when he turned around he turned straight into a GTS from CM Punk, allowing Punk to get the cover. (Triple H Eliminated) Shawn Michaels continued standing outside the chamber, the fans shouting at him for apparently costing Triple H the match. Punk is grinning having eliminated Triple H but he doesn’t realise what that means until he turns around straight into a Chokeslam from The Undertaker. The Undertaker followed this up with a devastating Tombstone to put CM Punk away and win the Elimination Chamber match! |
The Undertaker slowly gets to his feet while Triple H exits the Chamber. Triple H starts shouting at Shawn, asking him why he came out here. Michaels doesn’t say anything, instead just staring at Triple H before beginning to walk away. Suddenly Shawn turns and delivers a massive Sweet Chin Music to the chin of Triple H, knocking him out. Shock and confusion emanates from the crowd as Shawn just stares at him, before nodding as the fans begin to boo. Shawn shouts at Triple H, telling him that this is his own fault before walking away up the ramp. Back in the ring The Undertaker does his signature pose as the lights dim down, Jim Ross shouting that The Undertaker will challenge for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 26. As No Way Out goes off the air he repeats that at WrestleMania 26 it will be John Cena vs. The Undertaker for the WWE Championship!

-Sheamus over Miz via DQ is a good way to put both guys over. Wonder if this feud will continue. -RVD as the new champion sounds nice. RVD/Christian sounds like a WrestleMania Quality match. -Chris Jericho over John Morrison is a good call. I wonder where this will lead Morrison now. -Beth winning the Women's Championship sounds better at No Way Out than Mania'. -Batista being added to the World Heavyweight Championship is interesting. Considering he didn't have much business in the Rated Y2J feud, I kind of like it. -Cena over Show makes me extremely happy. I think this makes Cena a 10 time champion or nine time but either way I love it and hope he retains it at Mania' -Okay screw that last comment. Undertaker winning the Elimination Chamber is good. Just wish it didn't have to be Cena to lose to him at Mania'. But this does set put together an HHH/HBK match for WrestleMania. -Great PPV; Mania looks solid from what I've been reading.

-First off, fantastic graphics. They look amazing -Sheamus as a face is a very intriguing concept. Miz retaining due to the disqualification is good and I can see this repeating at WrestleMania maybe -Loved the ECW Title match and glad Rob Van Dam won it. I can see RVD/Dreamer at 'Mania considering Dreamer's bring the Extreme back to ECW angle. That match would be great and Christian could maybe win Money in the Bank -Surprised to see the World Title go on so early, but this could go down as a show stealer. Obvious that Jericho would retain, but good stuff nonetheless -Edge challenging Jericho for 'Mania is great, hope it's a singles match -Beth Phoenix winning the Women's Title is great, should lead to something really good at 'Mania -Dislike Batista winning as I feel Jericho/Edge was good enough for Mania -Figured Cena would regain the belt, never felt like he should've lost it at the Rumble. Hopefully we see him face a new opponent at 'Mania -I can see HHH/HBK at 'Mania as well as Cena/'Taker. I expect Cena to lose in a great match at WMXXVI
Very good PPV, sets up some great stuff for WrestleMania. I'm coming up to the same PPV, so I look forward to some friendly competition.

-No Way Out -Alright R, You have a solid diary here, which should be replied to more often. -Miz retaining the title by DQ is a great way to get heat on him. Sheamus getting the upper hand post match sets something up at Mania. Great booking there. -RVD winning is great. RVD vs. Dreamer at Mania? Please. -Not a fan of the World Title match so soon, but great match anyone and good to see Jericho retain. -I must say these graphics look great! -Beth Phoenix winning the Women's title is awesome. -I'm going to be honest I really don't like Batista winning. Edge vs. Jericho would have been a perfect match. -Giving Cena the belt was alright, but odd for Show to have the belt in the first place. Why give it to him? -Taker winning is excellent and Taker vs. Cena should be epic. I think that Taker will win, so instead of giving Show and Cena one month with the belt, just should have had Cena retain. -Great show anyway, and Mania should be great. With the expected HBK/HHH, Triple Threat, and Cena/Taker it should be great.

WWE No Way Out: Sunday 21st February 2010...Your advice about my happening on Facebook made me want to reply, Dale. I am liking the graphics, even though for me half of them are dead but odds are it is my computer. Not too fond of the WWE United States Championship opening up as both are heels from what I can tell, and a good match but the disqualification finish to close the match in the opening match on the card is not a positive step. I haven't really understand this angle though, either, not since the start. But it kept Sheamus strong and The Miz a sneaky champ. Rob Van Dam beating Christian is a solid match, should have opened because here it's as though the ECW Championship change isn't important and in the filler match point on the card. Decent decision though, must admit. Next up, solid win for Chris Jericho against John Morrison, good opportunity for Morrison but didn't expect Jericho to lose the World Heavyweight Championship really. Beth Phoenix beating Michelle McCool is alright, but this is the fourth title match in a row and definitely should have been used as filler. Would have been a good match regardless, good WWE Womens Championship win. Batista beating Edge is alright, not fond of his role increasing to a triple threat match at WrestleMania XXVI for the World Heavyweight Championship much though. He doesn't fit that well with Chris Jericho and Edge. And this is where time constraints play a big problem. Too many matches to fit into a three hour pay-per-view when one of them are an Elimination Chamber match. You should have done away with maybe the Womens and US title matches for better room in my opinion. Plus, too much going on because we've had too many big matches in a row without any time to cool down and relax. But acceptable win for the WWE Championship, never saw why Big Show was champion anyway, good predictable win for John Cena in the street fight. Interpromotional Elimination Chamer main event seems alright, a pretty good match I guess, but The Undertaker winning is nothing special. Also extremely predictable because you know The Undertaker will probably end up leaving as WWE Champion even though he's facing Cena. Massive match, but you'll need a lot to convince me Cena will be able to take 'Taker's streak at 'Mania. A decent show, but so much going on, the booking schedule wasn't that great and there was some things I disagreed with.

WWE News & Notes- There have been numerous calls among creative that the WWE need to change up the product in order to draw in a wider fan base. Vince seems to be coming around to the idea, especially now that he is actually listening to Paul Heyman who is one of the most vocal members of creative. The feeling is that WWE can’t just focus on the PG fan base because they are alienating long term fans. That doesn’t mean they will return back to the attitude era, but rather it looks like WWE will be willing to add edgier material if it is needed for a storyline. It is also expected that younger talent may be used in main event feuds on weekly tv since they don’t get ring time at Pay Per Views as often as they would like and it would allow WWE to preserve big name main events for future pay per views instead of giving them away on free television. - World Wrestling Entertainment have announced the releases of RAW personality Tony Atlus and SmackDown superstars Eric Escobar and Kung Fu Naki. They were ‘future endeavoured on WWE.COM earlier today. - World Wrestling Entertainment are planning to bring back a number of wrestlers previously released from the company. It is believed that Paul Heyman has been pushing them to sign back a few ECW Originals to continue the recent change of product that the show is undergoing with Heyman at the helm. It is unknown whether Heyman will get his request granted, although Vince McMahon has given Heyman considerable more freedom with the ECW scripts since he returned to the company. - Speaking of returning wrestlers WWE have been in contact with a former WWE star who is now part of TNA. It is rumoured that this individual’s TNA contract is up for renewal within the next month and that WWE have interest in bringing him back to compete on the ECW brand. No clues on who it could be at this time but we’ll keep you updated.

I dislike the opener man, heel v heel should never open up a show! If anything, this match should have been used as a cooldown for the crowd before the Elimination Chamber. The DQ finish keeps both men looking strong, and sets up a possible Wrestlemania rematch. Sheamus laying out Miz and getting a positive reaction for it? I see a face turn in the works? If so, this feud could be good for that. I know Morrison won't win tonight so there's no point me getting my hopes up. The interview was well written though. The ECW Championship match should have opened up as opposed to the US Championship one. I like RVD winning the match, and I see him defending against the new 'extreme' Tommy Dreamer at Wrestlemania 26. I like Batista's interview, but I hope he doesn't beat Edge tonight. As expected, Morrison loses to Jericho. I'm ot too fussed by this, however, as I expected it. The codebreaker after makes Jericho seem very heelish, and Edge spearing after setting up himself versus Jericho is fantastic! Phoenix retaining versus McCool I like very much, and her getting the better of Layla makes it all the better. Punk's description's of his opponents made me smile, especially Triple H's. "Part Time Cripple", what a fantastic way of describing him! Ahh no dude, what an earth is going on there? Batista winning the match! Not a fan of that at all! I hope you have some master plan to make this work. Cena being certain of victory made for a very Cena like promo, which I always like seeing. Cena beating Big Show is fantastic, and him in the title match leading to Mania is good stuff. I expected Undertaker as the victor of the Elimination Chamber match, and that will make for a fantastic headlining main event, and the outcome won't be as predictable as it is in most diaries either. There was two defo Mania matches also set up by the chamber in DiBiase v Orton, and Michaels v Triple H. I look forward to those as well. Overall, I enjoyed everything on this show except Batista's victory, though I'm sure you can as I say, style it out. A minor complaint is that there were too many matches for a card with an elimination chamber headlining, but it doesn't matter too much. Well written show that was very enjoyable, good work dude!

WWE Superstars Taped Match | Jack Swagger Defeated Kofi Kingston | Superstars main event featured two stars who have to be considered certainties to be included in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match. A great back and forth match was ended when Swagger connected with the Gutwrench Powerbomb. |
Prior to the normal opening video we are shown a highlight package from last night’s No Way Out Pay Per View. It focuses on John Cena once again becoming the WWE Champion by defeating the Big Show in a street fight, as well as the events of the Elimination Chamber, which saw Shawn Michaels turn on Triple H and The Undertaker come out victorious to gain a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 26. ‘The Time Is Now’ hits and the arena goes electric as the new World Wrestling Entertainment Champion John Cena makes his way to the ring. Cena requests a microphone, unable to stop grinning as the crowd continues with their rapturous applause. John does the ‘Champ is Here’ line which gets a great reaction before he goes on to talk about how last night he fought in one of the toughest and most physically draining matches of his career, but that he came out the other end as a six time WWE Champion and that now he has the title he doesn’t intend to let it go, which brings him onto The Undertaker. Before he can talk about the daunting task of facing the Deadman at WrestleMania he is interrupted by Big Show, who tells Cena that he has his championship and that he wants it back. Cena tells him that if wants some, he can come get some and Big Show says he will, tonight, because he is cashing in on his rematch in tonight’s main event. Cena nods as Big Show stares him down, the fans going crazy. In tonight’s main event, we will see John Cena defend the WWE Championship against the man he beat for it last night, The Big Show! Evan Bourne & Chris Masters Defeated Mike Knox & Primo | Evan Bourne & Chris Masters are now being pushed as a tag team because they made their entrance together to some spliced music and Michael Cole spent a good portion of the match promoting how they intend to challenge for the Unified Tag Team titles together. A good match with the focus being on Bourne & Masters, who picked up the win following a Masterlock Slam/ Shooting Star Press combo to Mike Knox. Bourne and Masters celebrate and signal their intentions to come after the Unified Tag Team titles as we cut backstage. |
We cut backstage where The Miz is bragging to Alicia Fox about ‘retaining’ the United States Championship last night against Sheamus. Alicia and Miz are clearly flirting but they’re swiftly interrupted by RAW general manager Bret Hart. Miz tries getting in Hart’s face but Bret doesn’t budge, not intimidated by The Miz at all. Bret tells The Miz that he is correct, he is indeed still the United States Champion, but that he never defeated Sheamus. Miz says that Sheamus has had plenty of shots at the title and that he doesn’t deserve any more. Bret says that he may be right, which is why next week it will be The Miz vs. Sheamus but not for the United States Championship, but in a Money in the Bank qualifying match! Bret tells Miz to have a nice night before walking off, leaving Alicia to try and calm down a furious Miz as we cut to commercials. Gail Kim & Natayla Neidhart Defeated Maryse & Jillian | We’re treated to Diva’s tag team action next as Diva’s Champion Maryse found herself up against an opponent she hasn’t met before in the form of Natayla, who was clearly gunning for Maryse in this match, and Michael Cole mentioned that she has made it her mission to become the new Diva’s Champion by WrestleMania. A decent back and forth that could have been improved by giving them more time, but that’s become the common problem with the women of the WWE. Maryse and Jillian double teamed Gail Kim but both were taken out by a double clothesline from Natayla, who followed it up with the Nattie by Nature on Maryse to get the victory. Natayla celebrates the win, standing tall over Diva’s Champion Maryse. RAW then fades to black. |
A video package plays, showing the events between Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase at last night’s Elimination Chamber. During the match DiBiase eliminated Randy Orton only to receive an RKO, leading to his own elimination. We cut backstage where Randy Orton is talking to Cody Rhodes about the events of last night’s Elimination Chamber match. Orton asks Cody where his allegiances lie, with him or that traitor Ted DiBiase. Rhodes finally shows some backbones, telling Orton that he isn’t on either of their sides, that he’s finally looking out for himself. Orton tells Cody that if he gets involved in what he plans to do to DiBiase then his career will be over before it really starts. Rhodes nods, saying that it’s their problem and that he has a match to get ready for. Orton walks off as RAW cuts to commercials. Sheamus Defeated Randy Orton | The first hour main event was a big one tonight as the recently face turned Sheamus faced off with Randy Orton, who was furious following his elimination in last night’s Elimination Chamber match at the hands of Ted DiBiase. This wasn’t the first time that Sheamus has faced off with headline talent and he proved that he has no problems with doing it again, holding his own against Randy Orton. There was a lot of hype towards next week’s grudge match between Sheamus and The Miz and it was no surprise that The Miz made an appearance, coming down to the ring and distracting the referee. Orton tried to capitalise with a steel chair that Miz threw into the ring prior but suddenly Ted DiBiase showed up, grabbing the chair from Orton and quickly exiting the ring. Orton then turned around right into the Brogue Kick! Sheamus hit another Brogue Kick on Miz, sending him flying off the apron, and got the pinfall to get a massive victory over Randy Orton. DiBiase walks backstage grinning while Sheamus celebrates the big victory as RAW fades to black. |
A video packages airs showing a clip from last night’s No Way Out pay per view. It shows Shawn Michaels coming down to the ring, distracting Triple H and leading to his elimination from the Elimination Chamber. It finishes with Shawn Michaels delivering a shocking Sweet Chin Music to his friend and tag team partner Triple H. We return to ringside to see Triple H walking to the ring. After the commercial break, we will hear from the man who was turned on by his best friend! We return to see Triple H standing in the ring, suited out, and looking more than a little dejected. Triple H says that last night, his best friend turned on him and cost him a possible WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 26. Triple H continues, mentioning that Shawn Michaels has a history of turning on his tag team partners, but that he thought that was all in the past, he thought that he could trust Shawn Michaels. He understands that Shawn has been going through some troubles recently but he never imagined he would do something like Superkick him. Triple H says that since they have been friends a long time he is going to give Shawn a chance to explain himself right now. There’s no sign of Shawn Michaels however despite repeated attempts by Triple H to call him out. Triple H tells Shawn to meet him in this ring next week to explain himself, otherwise he’ll have to come and find him. RAW cuts to commercials as Triple H exits the ring, looking almost broken up about the situation. Money in the Bank Qualifying Match | Cody Rhodes Defeated Santino Marella | A decent match but you have to feel that the result was a foregone conclusion from the very beginning. Santino continues to flounder when it comes to in ring competition and it’s his comedy segments and the fact the fans love him that he’s still around. Cody Rhodes on the other hand is one of RAW’s fastest rising stars and this match showed that as he put on a stellar performance. The action was back and forth but Rhodes was clearly the focus as he showed off a lot of his offensive arsenal in the match, eventually putting Santino away with the Cross-Rhodes to get the pinfall. Rhodes celebrated the victory following the match, shouting that he is going to be Mr. Money in the Bank 2010. |
A video package plays promoting the twenty-sixth annual WrestleMania. It states that there is only five weeks to go until the biggest Pay Per View of the wrestling calendar. We return to ringside to the sight of the Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty on their way to the ring. They request microphones and David Hart Smith begins speaking about how since they won the titles from Degeneration X back at the Royal Rumble they haven’t had a proper challenge but that they realise WrestleMania 26 is just weeks away and that this is the perfect time to really prove they deserve these titles. Tyson Kidd speaks next, saying that they are fighting Champions and that they realise the tag team division is spread across all three brands, which is why they have spoken to RAW general manager Bret Hart as well as Vince McMahon and they have organised a four way elimination challenge match for WrestleMania. Smith says that they will defend their Unified Tag Team Championships against one team from each brand in the same match and that they still intend to come out victorious, because they’re the best tag team there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be! The Hart Dynasty drop the microphones and raise the belts as the crowd pop loud after what they’ve just heard before RAW cuts to commercials. We return to the backstage area to see Big Show heading towards the ring for his rematch against WWE Champion John Cena. His path crosses with that of Sheamus, who is getting ready to leave the arena. The two stare each other down for a minute, before Sheamus wishes Big Show luck, telling him not to get beat too badly by John Cena tonight. Big Show tells Sheamus to watch what he says because he’s still the new guy around here, and if he isn’t careful he’ll find himself knocked out at his giant hands. Sheamus says that he’d like to see him try and walks off, leaving Big Show angry as he heads towards the ring. WWE Championship Match | John Cena [C] Defeated Big Show | A great main event and while it was hindered by both of these men being a little bit worse for wear following their Street Fight last night they still worked hard to make sure it was entertaining. Many people thought that there would be no chance that Big Show would walk away as Champion but there was that feeling in the air that we could see yet another shocking title change. Cena wasn’t going to let that happen if he had anything to say about it, fighting like mad but the Big Show is a tough opponent and overpowered Cena numerous times throughout. The entire match followed the same kind of formula as their Street Fight last night, focusing on back and forth action with John Cena trying to find ways to topple the giant, be they a barrage of punches or a shoulder block off of the top rope. Cena couldn’t life Big Show for the Attitude Adjustment during this match but he soon found an alternative, locking in the STF to get a big submission victory and to retain the WWE Championship. |
Following the match John Cena is handed his WWE Championship and celebrates overcoming the mammoth threat that the Big Show poses. It looks like it will be a joyous night for the WWE Champion when suddenly the lights dim and an ominous, but familiar, gong is heard. Suddenly fire bursts up from the stage, staying there as The Undertaker appears. The Undertaker holds out a hand and the fire parts, showing The Undertaker standing tall on the ramp, staring at John Cena. Cena appears nervous in the ring, trying not to show any fear at the threat that The Undertaker poses to his WWE Championship as RAW goes off the air.

-Good promo for the match between Cena/Undertaker despite the obvious outcome. Cena/Show should be good. -Bourne and Masters over Knox and Primo was obvious. Masters is really popular to the crowd in real-life so glad he's on the card. -Kim and Natalya going over is fine. So it's a good call. -Sheamus over Orton is good for Sheamus' rebound on the US Championship Match. Hope he gets into MITB or faces HHH or something. -Rhodes over Santino was an obvious call. Hope that DiBiase his chance to prove before WM as well. -Four Way Elimination for WrestleMania sounds interesting. So that sounds good so far. -John Cena over Big Show is the right call considering I don't know why Show won the title in the first place. Didn't make sense for a 1 day reign for Cena so it's great. Undertaker/Cena sounds very awesome though. -Great show; Mania looks like a long way from now but I wish it were today in this diary.

- Solid opening promo that basically promotes Cena/Taker, and also sets up the main event. - Bourne and Masters beating Knox and Primo is pretty much the obvious call - Knox and Primo are irrelevant. - Kim and Neidhart getting the win over the heels is a nice call. - Sheamus defeating Orton is huge. DiBiase getting involved also pretty much sets up Orton vs DiBiase at Mania. - Like Shawn not answering to Hunter; expecting him to give answers next week as it's pretty clear of the match at Mania. - Rhodes getting into Money in the Bank is good. Expecting Orton to cost DiBiase a qualifier sometime. - Nice little promo from the Unified Tag Team Champions that basically says they'll face anybody, and sets up the Mania match. - Obvious call to have Cena go over as he just won the belt. I'm going to guess Show is retiring soon, therefore, he got the belt originally. Taker's appearance after the match basically propels onward towards him vs Cena, which is needed.
A good show.

-Figured Show would use his rematch clause and I fully expect Cena to retain tonight -Original idea to use Bourne and Masters as a team. Not sure how I feel about it yet, although the finisher idea is nice -Miz/Sheamus in a Money in the Bank qualifying match sounds great to me. Not sure who will win -Solid Divas tag action -Sheamus beating Orton is huge for his career. Liked the interactions of Dibiase and Miz. Plus, I liked Cody going out on his own -Fully expect HBK/HHH at WrestleMania, which could steal the entire show -Love Cody Rhodes qualifying for Money in the Bank, would love to see him get a great push -Like that the Hart Dynasty got promo time and a Four Way match at WrestleMania sounds great -Cena retaining was obvious and the start of the build for the uber match between Cena & Undertaker was solid
Very good Raw, I'm liking this diary more and more every show

The Dudebusters Defeated Zack Ryder & Goldust | A very unusual pairing here and that’s what made things so easy for The Dudebusters. Ryder and Goldust just couldn’t work together and argued throughout, making them easy pickings for The Dudebusters. Croft pinned Goldust after Ryder turned on his own partner, nailing him with the Zack Attack! |
We open up with Joey Styles and Byron Saxton welcoming us to the show and plugging how Rob Van Dam is the new ECW Champion having defeated Christian at No Way Out. They promote that tonight we will see the rematch as Rob Van Dam battles Christian one on one with the ECW Championship on the line! They are interrupted by the music of ECW Original Tommy Dreamer as he makes his way to the ring. Tommy Dreamer hits the ring, requesting a microphone. Dreamer congratulates Rob Van Dam on winning the ECW Championship, saying that at least this means that somebody who actually knows how to go extreme has the title and that he won’t have to win it off some pathetic ‘wrestler’ like Christian. Dreamer is soon interrupted by Shelton Benjamin, who is still a little banged up from their Extreme Rules match last week. Benjamin tells Dreamer that last week they fought in a match of Dreamer’s choosing, a match that suits him far more than it does Benjamin. Because of that Shelton Benjamin challenges Tommy Dreamer to a match, telling Dreamer that if he thinks he is better than him, then to prove it in a wrestling match. Dreamer, not one to back down, accepts the challenge and Benjamin says good, because the match is going to take place right now! Tommy Dreamer Defeated Shelton Benjamin | Tommy Dreamer is a veteran of the ring so when Benjamin charged the ring referee in tow Dreamer was ready for him, pouncing on him as he entered the ring. What happened next was definitely a fight and no matter how hard you try to make Dreamer a wrestler it’s never going to happen, Tommy Dreamer is a fighter through and through and that’s why the fans love him. A good match overall and it was clear what creative were aiming for in this match as Dreamer showed that he can keep to the rules of a match if he really wants to and despite the obvious advantage that Shelton has in terms of wrestling ability it just wasn’t his night as Dreamer came out on top following the Dreamer DDT. Following the match Dreamer delivered another big DDT much to the anger of the fans as ECW cuts to commercials. |
Returning from commercials we come to Josh Matthews standing by with the new ECW Champion Rob Van Dam to get his thoughts on winning the title at No Way Out. Rob Van Dam calls it a dream come true, saying that he returned less than a month ago and now he’s back on top here in ECW. He says that tonight he faces Christian who has arguably had one of the best runs here in ECW since it’s revival, maybe even better than Van Dam himself but that now he has the title there won’t be anybody that can take it off of him, not Christian, not Tommy Dreamer, not anybody. Van Dam promises that he will be the greatest ECW Champion that this company has ever seen and walks off, ECW returning to ringside. Ezekial Jackson Defeated Paul Burchill w/ Katie Lea | Last week Paul Burchill attacked Jackson with a chair during a tag team match, and then tried to injure him, much like he did to Yoshi Tatsu weeks prior. Jackson was looking for revenge here and when a man like Jackson is after you, it’s best to watch out. Burchill isn’t a small man by anybodies standards and he held his own against Jackson, the two putting on a decent back and forth match. Katie Lea was a factor as always, trying to distract Jackson and stopping a pinfall at one point. That just motivated an already focused Ezekial Jackson and it wasn’t long until Burchill found himself the victim of the Book of Ezekial, giving Jackson the victory. |
Following the match Ezekial Jackson celebrates the victory, unaware of Katie Lea passing Paul Burchill a chair. Burchill gets to his feet and as Ezekial turns he finds himself the victim of a chair shot to the head. This only manages to send Jackson down to one knee but another chair shot sends him straight to the mat. Burchill pushes the chair under Jackson’s head and as we’ve seen numerous times recently prepares to deliver a Curb Stomp to Jackson onto the chair. Suddenly Burchill is sent flying forwards by a dropkick to his back. He turns around to come face to face with the man he put out of action weeks ago – Yoshi Tatsu. Burchill charges at Tatsu only to receive another dropkick that sends him flying out of the ring. Burchill and Katie Lea quickly back up the ramp while the returning Yoshi Tatsu signals that he is coming for Paul Burchill! ECW returns from a commercial break with Wade Barrett in the office of ECW General Manager Paul Heyman. Barrett is complaining how he hasn’t been given a chance to show all of these pathetic fans exactly why he is the future of ECW, and that he’s getting bored of sitting backstage talking when he could be kicking some loser’s head in. Heyman agrees, telling Barrett that he is a future ECW Champion and that he deserves a chance to show everyone why, which is why next week he will have his debut match on ECW! Barrett brightens up at this, happy to be in competition, and tells Heyman that he won’t regret bringing him here as ECW returns to the ring for our big main event! ECW Heavyweight Championship Match | Rob Van Dam [C] Defeated Christian | For the second time in three days these two competitors clashed over the ECW Championship, only this time there was a complete reversal with champion and challenger. The fans were split on this match just like they were last night but the chants for Rob Van Dam won out in the end. This match followed a similar formula as last night’s with Van Dam working away at Christian with vicious kicks and his signature moves while Christian just went all out from the start, aiming to set Van Dam up for the Killswitch and end this as soon as he could. A great main event with plenty of back and forth action built to a very close climax as both men almost hit their finishers. In the end Rob Van Dam countered the Killswitch, connecting with a vicious kick to the head that sent Christian down to the mat and allowed Van Dam to connect with the Five Star Frog Splash to get the victory and to retain the title. |
Rob Van Dam is handed the ECW Championship and begins celebrating a second massive win in the span of three days. Van Dam holds up the ECW title when suddenly Tommy Dreamer rolls into the ring behind him. The crowd are going crazy but Van Dam hasn’t seen him yet as Tommy just stands behind him, staring. Van Dam turns around right into a kick to the gut. Dreamer follows this up with the Dreamer DDT, laying Van Dam out in the centre of the ring. Dreamer picks up the ECW title, stares at it before dropping it onto the unconscious body of the ECW Champion Rob Van Dam. The crowd are in complete uproar as Tommy Dreamer stares down at a man who he once called his closest friend, Rob Van Dam.

Drew McIntyre Defeated Kane | A big match on Superstars featuring two of SmackDown’s top midcard talents. Both men put on a great match and either could have gotten the win, but in the end McIntyre took out the knee of Kane when he attempted the Chokeslam, and connected with the Future Shock for the victory. |
We are welcomed to the show by Matt Striker and Todd Grisham, who talk about last night’s big Elimination Chamber match last night. They announce that coming up first is a big Money in the Bank qualifying match between Matt Hardy and CM Punk, plus Rey Mysterio will clash with Luke Gallows! Before they can say much more they are interrupted by the music of Batista as the man who defeated Edge on Sunday makes his way to the ring. Batista is handed a microphone and begins talking about No Way Out, how he walked into the ring to face Edge and did exactly what he said he would do – he defeated Edge and gained entry into the World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 26. Batista says that he is in the WWE for one reason and that is money – WWE is where the big money is and being the World Heavyweight Champion means being the highest paid superstar in the WWE and that is exactly what he intends to be come WrestleMania. He is interrupted by the current World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, who tells Batista that he may have beaten Edge but that means nothing, because Edge wasn’t going to win at WrestleMania anyway. Jericho says all Batista has done is added another loser into the World Heavyweight Championship match, another hypocrite for WWE’s saviour to defeat. Batista tells Jericho that his mouth is writing a cheque his body can’t cash, and challenges him to a match tonight! Jericho accepts, telling Batista that he just made the biggest mistake of his career because now he won’t even make it to WrestleMania. The two stare each other down as SmackDown fades out. Commercial Break.Money in the Bank Qualifying Match | Matt Hardy Defeated CM Punk w/ Serena | SmackDown’s first Money in the Bank qualifying match pitted a ladder match veteran against one of the hottest acts in the WWE right now. Luke Gallows wasn’t present at ringside for this due to his match with Rey Mysterio later tonight. CM Punk looked strong here despite being involved in a gruelling Elimination Chamber match just days prior while Matt Hardy continues to labour along in his WWE career, always on the fringes of a decent push but never quite making it. Chavo Guerrero tried to get involved in the match following his recent feud with Matt Hardy but John Morrison made an appearance, pulling Chavo off of the ring apron and levelling him with a right hand. Morrison’s appearance distracted CM Punk as he began arguing with Morrison. Punk turned around right into a kick to the gut from Matt, followed by the Twist of Fate and the pinfall. Matt Hardy celebrates his victory while Serena checks on CM Punk. Morrison backs up the ramp with a cheeky grin as SmackDown cuts out. |
We cut backstage where Courtney Taylor is standing by with Edge, looking to get his thoughts on his loss to Batista Sunday night at No Way Out. Edge says that he can admit that Batista was the better man last night but that’s only because he got lucky and targeted his injured Achilles tendon. Edge admits that he still isn’t 100% but he’s been assured by his doctors that come WrestleMania he’ll be as good as new and he intends to show it by becoming World Heavyweight Champion for a record breaking sixth time. Edge says that Chris Jericho and Batista are both great competitors, but they are nothing compared to the Rated R Superstar and that at WrestleMania, he’ll show them exactly how a real superstar goes big time. Commercial Break. We return to the backstage area to see a limo pulling up. Out of it walks the Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty, along with Natayla. The crowd give The Hart Dynasty’s surprise arrival a nice reaction as Courtney Taylor catches up to them as they walk into the arena, asking them why they are here on SmackDown tonight? David Hart Smith reminds everyone of their open challenge for WrestleMania where one team from each brand will challenge them for the Unified Tag Team Championships, saying that they’re here tonight to scout out the talent. Tyson Kidd issues an open challenge to any team on SmackDown to face them tonight. Natayla says that they are the greatest family in wrestling, and that The Hart Dynasty will prove that tonight. The Hart Dynasty walks off as we return to ringside. Beth Phoenix Defeated Layla | The new Women’s Champion was in action here following her victory over Michelle McCool Sunday night at No Way Out. There was no sign of the former Women’s Champion out at ringside tonight which was definitely bad news for Layla as Beth just focused all of her attentions on completely dominating this match. In fairness it was quite back and forth for the most part but Beth Phoenix was booked to look like the new Women’s Champion, so it was no surprise when she hit the Glam Slam to get the victory. |
Following the match Beth Phoenix begins celebrating her victory when she is interrupted by the screams of former Women’s Champion Michelle McCool. McCool screams at Beth to give her back the Women’s Championship, saying that she’s pretty sure Beth shouldn’t even be classified as a women. McCool walks down to the ring, continuing to insult Beth and while Beth’s attention is firmly on McCool she is jumped from behind by Layla. Beth manages to fight off Layla before McCool can make it to the ring and Beth delivers another Glam Slam. This stops Michelle McCool in her tracks and she shouts that if Beth won’t give her back the title she’ll just win it back, before storming back up the ramp while Beth holds up the Women’s Championship in the ring. Commercial Break. We return to see CM Punk and the Straight Edge Society backstage. CM Punk is shouting about how John Morrison cost him the chance at entering Money in the Bank and winning it for a third straight year. CM Punk says that John Morrison crossed a line tonight and got involved in the business of the Straight Edge Society, and that he needs to be taught a lesson, the same lesson that Rey Mysterio will learn right now when Luke Gallows destroys him! Gallows agrees, saying that Mysterio will be taken care off, and Punk says that he’d better. Gallows says that ‘they’ will have no problems and leaves the locker room, while Punk and Serena grin, clearly knowing something we don’t. Luke Gallows Defeated Rey Mysterio | Rey Mysterio has been targeting Luke Gallows for the past few weeks after Luke Gallows cost Rey Mysterio an Elimination Chamber qualifying match against CM Punk. A very good match, Gallows has come a long way since his days working the Festus gimmick and he’s generating a fair amount of heat recently even when he’s not with CM Punk. Mysterio was the clear favourite for this match but it was obviously going to be difficult with the clear size and strength advantage favouring Gallows but as always the underdog role worked for Rey and with the fans behind him he slowly built up momentum and took control of the match. Mysterio managed to connect with the 619 but when he went for the move he was yanked from the ring apron by a hooded assailant who then threw him back into the ring. Gallows quickly connected with the Gallows Pole for the pinfall victory. |
Following the match the hooded assailant enters the ring and shakes hands with Luke Gallows while CM Punk and Serena walk down to the ring. With the whole Straight Edge Society in the ring the hooded individual removes the hood and reveals himself as former WWE Tag Team Champion Curt Hawkins! Curt Hawkins is the newest member of the Straight Edge Society! Hawkins poses in the ring with the rest of the Straight Edge Society as we cut backstage. We cut backstage where Michelle McCool is talking to Layla, both very anxious about what happened with Beth Phoenix earlier tonight. Layla is complaining that Michelle didn’t come and help her and McCool said that she didn’t want to risk Beth injuring her with her horrible man hands before she could win back the Women’s Championship. Suddenly The Hart Dynasty walk past them heading towards the ring for their open challenge to the SmackDown roster. Natayla stops, looks at McCool and Layla and laughs, saying that if this is what the Diva’s on SmackDown look like then she’s glad she’s on RAW. The Hart Dynasty walk off laughing while McCool and Layla stand there shocked with a look of ‘Oh no she didn’t’ on their faces. Commercial Break. We are then taken to the office of SmackDown general manager Theodore Long, who is sitting at his desk with the Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler in the office with him. Ziggler asks why he was told to come here. Long tells him to wait a minute and R-Truth walks into the office. Ziggler is on edge immediately, shouting that R-Truth shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near him! Long tells him to shut up, he’s the general manager and he’ll make the decisions around here. Long goes on to tell them that next week they will finally go one on one with Intercontinental Championship on the line! R-Truth nods while Ziggler is simply furious, screaming that this is an injustice and that Long is going to lose his job for it. Long tells him to get out of his office and Ziggler storms off but not before being told by R-Truth that he better keep hold of the title, because next week it goes around the waist of R-Truth. The Hart Dynasty w/ Natayla Defeated Cryme Time | The open challenge of the Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty was answered by Cryme Time, who haven’t really been doing much of anything in recent months. This match was built around the four way Elimination match that The Hart Dynasty announced for WrestleMania so there was the question on whether Cryme Time would be one of those teams involved if they could win this match. The Hart Dynasty were the stars here showing excellent teamwork and really controlling this match but a lot of the crowd were behind Cryme Time during this match and they did put on a good showing against the Champions. The Hart Dynasty picked up the victory following The Hart Attack on JTG. The Hart Dynasty are handed their titles and raise them in the air, signalling their current dominance of the tag team division. |
We are taken backstage where Rey Mysterio is sitting, holding his neck following his loss to Luke Gallows earlier tonight. He finds himself face to face with Drew McIntyre, who stands there smirking at the hurt Rey. Rey asks McIntyre what he wants and McIntyre says he doesn’t want anything from Rey, he just thought that maybe Rey would want to see what a real winner looks like. Rey takes offence to that, threatening to take out McIntyre right here, right now, but McIntyre tells Rey not to bother, he’d hate to injure him this close to WrestleMania. McIntyre walks off, leaving Mysterio staring at him, furious at having been disrespected. Commercial Break.Batista Defeated Chris Jericho via Count Out | The main event of SmackDown was a preview of what we can expect come WrestleMania 26 and if this is anything to go by then the World Heavyweight Championship match may be one of the most entertaining bouts on offer at the biggest show of the wrestling calendar. Chris Jericho came into this looking to prove his credentials as World Heavyweight Champion as we begin the build to the triple threat match between these two and the 2010 Royal Rumble winner Edge but his overconfidence proved to be one of the biggest factors in this match as Batista caught him off guard with how dominant he was. The match was given plenty of time to entertain and it did that with plenty of back and forth action and numerous near falls but as the match continued Batista slowly took control and this clearly got to Chris Jericho as the match went on and it would be this that led to the cheap finish of the match. As Batista started dominating the match he set Jericho up for the Batista Bomb only for Jericho to escape out of the back and roll out of the ring. Chris Jericho refused to get back into the ring, grabbing his World Heavyweight Championship from ringside and headed up the ramp, not caring that he was counted out. |
Following the match Chris Jericho grins and points at his head, indicating that he has gotten one over Batista by depriving him of a clean victory over the World Heavyweight Champion. Suddenly Edge comes from behind, knocking Jericho to the ground. Edge throws Jericho into the ring and rolls in after him. Jericho gets to his feet only to be met by a Spinebuster from Batista and Edge follows this up with a Spear to the World Heavyweight Champion. Edge gets to his feet and is suddenly met by a boot from Batista. Batista follows this up with a Batista Bomb, leaving Edge out cold in the centre of the ring. SmackDown comes to an end with Batista standing tall over both Edge and the World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho, making sure that it’s going to be a long and vicious road to WrestleMania 26.
