OH AND JUST CAUSE I FEEL LIKE SAYING SOMETHING
dude, you were one of the shittiest customizers ever back in the day. you posted so much shit. you have no right to complain about people posting things subpar.
you have such a skewed way of thinking it annoys the piss out of me tbh.

Haha... that reply is exactly what is wrong with the customs board. BRK's customs may not have been the best but at least he f***ing tried. From head to toe he tried. It was obvious that some were sloppy but it was also evident how much effort went into the customs. I used to be extremely against fixups and diva customs..but honestly if those weren't posted we would have threads from 5 months ago posted on the front page with 6 replies. Nobody agrees with me, and that's fine, but I honestly feel customizing on wf died when the idea of not using a skintone was not only acceptable but it became the norm. When people decided that trying to do as little to a "custom" as possible was the way to go and then ridiculed customizers who did paint from head to toe as well as sculpted on the figure. It made things look mundane and repetitive instead of unique. You had 50 Jeff Hardy customs with the same exact recipe with no altercations besides perhaps a headswap, painting on some armbands, and painting his face. So of course people are going to lose interest in looking.

Welcome back--
"The trumpets shall sound upon the return of the Messiah."
I have to call you on a few discrepancies. Who has the ultimate (subjective, mind you) "power" to judge the work of others? Is it the Moderators? The people who consistently post to gain entry into the Classifieds? YOU? ME? That is what this is all about. I post my customs, often hesitantly, but constructive criticism is to be expected. I agree with you that people think very highly of themselves, but exercise a bit of introspection for a moment, to ensure the pot is not calling the kettle....
There are people who post things that don't grab my attention (but they view it as great), but should I "judge" their work as inferior to another person's work? No. One man's trash.... well, you know the old adage.
Also, the entirety of your post speaks of your distaste for people claiming to be elite judging others. Read your initial post once again... is that what you are doing?
Lastly, I would rather see a "fix-up" posted any day of the week, and twice on the Sabbath, as opposed to a post "on the customs board" *where photos of work are placed* where a person complains about the problems with the customizing board.
The irony...

I think its a 'nerdherd' mentality. I mean the guy that started this thread has 500 posts already and he just signed in in October of '09! All it is maybe 7 or 8 guys posting custom figs, that they sell and then complain and fight about EVERYTHING to do with other peoples customs. So what if its a fixup or it sucks most of the people here are younger trying to have fun. Then you get the 'angry' guy who deems people arent worthy to post fixups cause we're customizers here. Its like the geek squad that plays d&d in their basements on Friday night but belittles you if you dont know how to play, they come off with that elitist attitude because they are making up for their social and financial shortcomings. Look at Gate, who just got banned again I might add, his last post was if anyone wants to buy my heads thay can go fudge themselves? Its like I can make this you cant so nanananah? Grow up already. I have dealt with a few customizers here who are truly talented and classy people, Titantrap,Warsman, Naparo and a few others who are great to deal with. Who is anyone here to judge someone else on their ability or know how,its a forum about TOYS! Go look in the competition forum or the discussion thread its the same 4 or 5 guys posting everyday spamming and fighting. One guy on here has over 11,000 posts in three years(he's not a customizer) thats like 8 posts every day! I am in no way trying to say anyone, customizer or not is at fault it just seems like there is a lot of fighting here with the same people all the time.

as you said yourself the fix-up board got closed because it wasnt active, and also as you said this board isn't active, so my making another board for fix-ups this section would be even less active.
anyway, as for things not belonging here, this topic dosen't belong here, though it is to do with customs, it isnt actually a custom figure.

head choice is terrible. paint is really chunky too, try adding a little bit of water to it.
sorry not a very good one, 4/10. Keep trying though!

You don't have to paint a skintone to make a "custom", in my eyes. However, I don't think changing the colors of CM Punk's stars counts as a custom.
Customizing has ups and downs, just like everything else. It's kinda down right now but I think once the Mattel figures and the TNA figures start coming out, a boost will be soon to follow.

I think everybody just needs to lighten up. Honestly as somebody said previously in this post, if not for the fix ups and crappy customs this board would die. We have tried the whole customs only thing with a few other boards(Elite and GFC to name a couple) They failed. I'll be honest when I say I haven't posted a ton of stuff here lately, just haven't been motivated to finish stuff. I have a lot in the works just need to take a few hours and finish them.
I come here because I enjoy seeing and making the customs. Yeah, some aren't as good as others, it's no reason they shouldn't post their work though. Yeah some people are dicks and thrash some of the newbies, which probably makes them afraid to ever post anything again. I see lots of people in the discussion thread talking about all these fixups and what not they have done and all these figures they have made, but I never see them posted. The reason they don't post them I feel is being afraid of being ridiculed if it's not perfect.
Enjoy the board, lighten up, remember we have a lot of kids on here that are just getting into this stuff, if you shut them down they may never reach their potential. Instead help them out, give them advise, and maybe you'll see the next top customizer. Skills are developed for most, natural for few.

I don't think the problem is thoughtless comments, subpar customs, or what have you.
It's that SOOO many posts are "Custom Macho Man, Sting, and Jeff Hardy... now on eBay!" It seems that the custom boards are flooded with customs of the same three or four wrestlers, all using the same methods, and all for sale on eBay.
Do people still make custom figures for the sake of customizing anymore, or is it all just to make some quick cash? I know there are people here who are great artists and do it for the love of the hobby, but their posts seem to be few and far between tons of eBay threads.
Personally, I'd rather see an interesting fix-up than the five-hundredth Crow Sting for sale.

whatever happened to just having fun on these boards? who cares if someones custom is crap or great, they have a right to post it here. ppl take this crap waaaay to seriouosly cmon now I'm in complete agreement with this. These boards belong to everyone who has an account with the WF Forums, and to be honest, the reason I still come back here is to look at the customs. I don't care if some are bad. In fact, the bad ones make the good ones look that much better, but to be honest, there are only 1 or 2 customizers whose work REALLY impresses me, despite the fact that I've never made a custom in my life. I appreciate the effort EVERYONE puts into making their customs, and will never bash a custom for that reason. But if I feel like saying "4/5. Nice work" to a custom, I have every right to do so. As we speak, I'm trying to get advice so I can make my first custom. And I hope I'll be able to post it on here without you all being complete asses about it and just encourage me so I can get better. Tell me what I need to do to make it better for next time. Some of the best figures on here are fix-ups, btw. That guy who posted an Orton and a Lesnar DA did phenomenal work, and that Orton was definitely just a fix-up. Get over yourself OP.

I'm gonna say this because I can. First of all I made a custom Sting fig a couple days ago. Now I know it wasn't the greatest because IT WAS MY FIRST. I put it up for suggestions to make my next customs better. For the people that said it was the best thing ever well you're wrong, and misleading. thanks for the high spirits but "best custom ever" is not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for ways to improve on my custom figs. If I remember right in the rules it states that replys like "best ever 4/5" is spam correct? well HELLO that's SPAM and i got a lot of it in my post on my Sting and it was a little more than a bit irritating. Thank you for those who did compliment and criticize my work fairly and told me what I needed to work on for my next coming customs but for those who just said 4/5 or whatever didn't do me any good. If those people had said 4/5 great job and said WHY they didn't give it a 5/5 then that would be cool and I'd definatly accept that. Now Barry White, I know I'm a new customizer but you are one of the better responses I got. you said you rated it a 3/10 and gave me what I needed to know about why you gave it that rating and that's what I need and that's what us new customizers need from these people on here that do rate and reply and criticize people's work. So in the future at least on my custom posts, if you're gonna spam it and not give me some help to be better, leave it at the keyboard.

I use to come on here every other day to see the great customs people have to show. Now a days it seems as if people are just posting any old type of thing. But then again not many people are posting full blown customs anymore. I miss that. Really the only reason I look at the fix-up post is to see if someone has an idea and whether i can use that idea and make it my own. But I do totally agree. I'm not bashing the beginner work but There's a different between posting a figure that is may have taken days or weeks to make and a figure that looks like it took 10 seconds of sharpie doodling to make. Buuuuuut that's just me lol. ;D

I used to not mind giving people advice when they would use it but nowadays, you tell someone how to improve and they say, Oh ok, awesome then they do the same crappy thing on the next figure.
