If I was a tattoo getting man, i think I'd get this, just 'cause the design is impeccable:

I definitely am going to get some tattoos when I am of age. I know I want a cross and a Nor-Cal star, other than that I don't know what others.
And a question... can someone, to the best of your ability, describe the "pain"?

It's probably different for each individual person.

And a question... can someone, to the best of your ability, describe the "pain"? I think this guy puts into pretty good perspective: Edit: If I HAD to say something, I'd pretty much say that I've had plenty of other things hurt worse... stubbing my toe, catching my head on the corner of a wooden cabinet, stepping on a thumbtack - those ALL hurt plenty worse. I think the main reason is, I'm expecting the pain when I get tattooed, I know it's coming and with those other things, they're so sharp and surprising, it all hits you at once. And to be completely honest, I can tolerate the pain of getting tattooed just fine - however, I HATE putting 'medication' (for lack of a better word) on it for the first couple of days. To me, that actually hurts worse.

To me, the pain of getting a tattoo is JUST above the level where you can ignore it. I couldn't quite get used to it enough to put it out of my head, but it was almost there.
Doing the colored in parts with a single point, though... that was pretty much hell. I wanted to punch someone in the face while he was doing the ankh and taijitu, not fun.

It's hard to describe the way a tattoo feels. More or less it's just an irritating feeling.
If you've worked all day, haven't had much sleep, feel kind of sick, etc...It's going to hurt a heck of a lot more.
Some areas don't feel bad at all, while others are excruciating. Then you have to factor in that it's a little different for every person.
For me, my chest and the pit of my elbow hurt like hell. Everything else kind of breezed by.

As for the pain, it's not too noticeable. You can tell something is going on, and when filling in some areas it can sting for a second, but it isn't that bad.
