Not only did JCF's recent post on Mattel inspire me to check my local Toys R Us' but it also inspired me to get back on the boards I posted on as a young kid. I stopped collecting figures other than 1/500's and certain classics recently but with Mattel's innovation and [minus poor jack swagger] their dead-on likeliness and elite collection figures, I've gotten back into collecting for a bit, full-throttle.. anywho.. On what could be called the luckiest week of my entire collecting days [since 1 year old] i managed to grab a 1/500 Triple H from RA 43 at a local Toys R Us Shoppers Express. Saturday night, I go to target after a few drinks and find RA 42 HBK 1/500!! [Yes, did not think it was real haha]. Being the avid follower of this forum I am, i came on to annually check any updates. Read JCF's post and decided to go to my local Toys R Us. To my utter shock, they may not have had any Mattel figures out, but i grabbed this bad boy.. Sorry for the terrible quality. Only have a cell. And i also snapped the UPC but its non readable. The # is 027084786293. Thanks for reading guys.

The ring looks great, how do jakks look in it? Are the ropes really better than ones we've been getting? Thanks for the pics & any answers.

pwsphil, the ring is a bit smaller than a stunt action, but it looks absolutely phenominal. Minus the bit small size the ring is near perfect to me. Its very glossy paint, thought you cant see it in the picture. Looks almost like the revolving lights above the ring are shining on it. The ropes dont have ties [thank god] and are extremely durable. Much tighter of a fit than Jakks were. Jakks' were a bit loose and floppy, figure would fall out of the ring if they were heavier [Show, Khali, Gonzalez], where as Mattel definitely put the ropes to the test. We've finally gotten a ring with ropes with playable likeness to real ring ropes, not rubber bands. It should make for great playability [At least for the smaller guys .. Kofi, Cena, and Bourne. Might as well add too, the ring post click in and are very well supported, unlike Jakks' where theyed come right out the inserts at times and the posts would get leaned forward. Jakks figure looks a bit goofy in there, but they look a bit goofy to begin with compared to any Mattel product IMO haha. A bit too large, but theyre mass and width are much broader than Mattel for the most part. Well see though, can't wait to get my hands on Series 1 and Elite.

Wow very nice! Glad to hear a long time collectors opinion on it, the tighter ropes sound like a big plusm mattel was hyping their rope technology. The ring looks great, even the ringskirt textures. A lucky week for you indeed, congrats on the finds and welcome, officially, to the boards.

Awesome 1 of 500 finds man. I also found Mattel series 1 at TRU today in Barboursville west virginia by the Hunington mall. I got Kofi, Batista, evan, and cena. "No HHH or big show left" I cant believe how great these figures look in person.

Little update, I literally went to 5 different stores today, absolutely no luck whatsoever. Certain stores must have put them out disregarding the release date, while others carelessly [for our benefit] put them out.

I will be trying once more tomorrow and if nothing, I think I'll give it up until after Christmas. I am really, really wanting Cena and Kofi though. If I find the set tomorrow and there's no Kofi or Cena, I don't think I'll be a happy camper! Cool stuff there though man. At least you got the ring, which looks very nice. Congrats on the 1 of 500's too!

Being theyre are many better releases of Tista, Cena, Triple H, and Kofi ... I'm primarily collecting Elite but would love to get my hands on Bourne and Big Show as theyre are no re-releases to my knowledge so I've been frantic looking for them. It seems like its luck of the draw, never know what you're finding here in Jersey, and they keep popping up almost only here. I will keep my eyes peeled for a Kofi and Cena for you JCF !

I don't know I think Triple H is the best version ever released to date. He blows any Triple H Jakks ever released away.
