They had me at "Hello". I knew they'd do phenomenal work and they didn't disappoint. And today I thought I'd give it a try to see if any stores restocked.
Nanuet NY TRU -had nothing in stock
Rt4 - Had nothing in stock
RT17 Paramus NJ - had 16 Basics showing in the computer as to being on the floor, but we couldn't find them. The manager even went into the stockroom looking for them. He thinks they might have been bought this morning and the comptuer didn't update it yet.
TRU Express in the Palisades Center - had nothing
Target Palisades Center - Had nothing, but the UPC I brought with me did scan as an item they'll be carrying.

I was always pretty happy with how Mattel was going to tackle the WWE line.

With the Basics, no. I want to see an Elite John Cena in my hands before I answer the question for sure.

I was sold day 1, but after picking up series 1 in TRU in West Virginia, I am Extremely won over. They are great. They look so much better in person and are very well detailed. Good work Mattel.

I still abhor the heads, but the knowledge that I can switch them with Jakks heads has made the transition easier.

No. Mattel has some minor pluses... - detail in attires - scale - display stands - mobility without looking goofy like the Jakks DA knee joints but some major negatives... - everyone looks anorexic - most guys have way too much muscle definition (so many people complain about Jakks' figures not looking realistic...Mattel's are even LESS realistic, but they're "111000xxxxs better thank Jakkzzz" ) - most scans are goofy looking - no accessories I've come to the conclusion I will be buying a very few figures by Mattel. I'll pick up an Elite or 2, and since they are relatively in scale with Jakks I'll buy guys they make that Jakks didn't get to (Sheamus, Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder's current look, etc.) but in no way, shape, or form do I think they are better than Jakks or that I will be selling my hundreds of Jakks figures to re-start a new collection with Mattel

If I am reading Optimus' post correctly, concrete and real improvements and facts such as attention to detail and real scale are 'minor plusses', but subjective judgements and opinions such as 'goofy scans' and 'everyone looks anorexic' are MAJOR negatives?
Okay....

When I first saw the new Mattel figures I was thinking that there was absouloutly NO WAY I was going to buy them but today I have been looking at them and im starting to think that they are alright. They have excellent bodies but they need to fix Triple H's and Shawn Michael's hair colour. I hope they are same size as Jakks figures. I still prefer Jakks figures though.

If I am reading Optimus' post correctly, concrete and real improvements and facts such as attention to detail and real scale are 'minor plusses', but subjective judgements and opinions such as 'goofy scans' and 'everyone looks anorexic' are MAJOR negatives? Okay.... they are minor because Jakks has been doing relatively the same thing for the last 6 years. There are HUNDREDS of Jakks figures will loads of details, and most guys are scaled accurately (Rey shorter than Cena, Cena shorter than Big Show, etc.) body types don't fit here because most of Mattel's figures have the same torsos, arms & boots. and yes, if I think the scans look goofy and the bodies look anorexic how could that NOT be a major negative to me. You're acting as if what I said was a concrete fact and not just my own opinion. This thread topic is "Has Mattel won YOU over yet?" which would mean any answer/response to the topic would be in said persons own opinion. Isn't that what we all spew on this board...our opinions?

I was happy from Day 1. Finally figures in scale with each other with detailed attires.

The details being above and beyond Jakks is what won me over. When did we ever get logos on elbow pads? We're lucky to get back designs these days. So the attention to detail, and even more stuff on the Elite figs, won me over. I still love a lot of the Jakks figs, though.

voted no, only becuase I have not seen them in person yet. Although come Jan 1st I'll be ordering a few. I like the scale idea, but its the heads that let the figures down. I'm really looking forward to a long haired Hurricane and hope they create a good scan of him

Pretty much. The elite figures look great. Lets just see what they're actually like.
