This isn't a "who do you want to see turn face/heel", run of the mill thread.
This thread is directed at 5 wrestlers who have gone as far as they could go as a face or heel, and would freshen up with such a change. Guys like Batista, Jericho, CM Punk and John Morrison are just a few examples of successful premise changes. So, what 5 urgently need to turn next year?
Mine:
John Cena - Full fledged heel
Randy Orton - Tweener/Badass fan-favorite
Cody Rhodes - fan-favorite (yeah I know i'm in the majority who favor him most in the legacy) I think Rhodes could prove himself with in ring abilities and mic. work.
Edge - fan-favorite (we can spot this with his pending return)
Gail Kim - ruthless heel (tough call) set on injuring the "divas" who can't match her wrestling and submission prowess.

MVP - THIS IS A MUST HAVE. Turn him heel on Smackdown, and have him feud with the Undertaker. Heel Mark Henry as his bodyguard or whatever is not neccessary, but could also work.
Jack Swagger - I think he would make a pretty good fan favourite, but please god, don't have him be all sucky up. Play him as a guy who knows he's got talent but is so good, that he gets cheers... like Kurt Angle. I would say "Don't make him smile", but that's his thing so don't take away that.
Edge - ONLY if he isn't 2004 suckish face. Make him a badass psycho face, like Austin and the crowd will love it.
The Legacy - I think Orton getting owned by his stable once again would be great. Everyone expects Ted to turn on his own, but a massive swerve were Cody joins him, would also be good. Cody Rhodes is much better as a face, and I think Ted would be pretty good too. Maybe not have them turn on Orton, maybe have Orton start calling them worthless or something and they finally have enough of it and ditch him.

Shawn Michaels - We've seen Heel HHH vs Face HBK, let's have the opposite at Mania.
Ted DiBiase - Come on, it HAS to happen.
Edge - See DiBiase. Have him feud with Jericho. Make him 1998 Owen Hart style, like attacking Jericho at every turn.
MVP - MVP sucks as a face. Turn him heel.
Beth Phoenix - She's practically turning face anyway, make it fully fledged.

HHH Cena Edge Christian Undertaker This. Edge, I am a little nervous about as a face, as long as they don't try to make him a white meat baby face, I think it would be ok. a bad ass face ala Austin would be cool.

I really want Triple H to turn heel. He's been a face since like 2006 and imo, he need to turn heel again.

1. Legacy - Legacy vs. Orton sounds sweet. A surprise heel return of Manu as Orton's bodyguard/lackey would make for some good storylines.
2. Edge - Edge vs. Jericho. It's just GOTTA happen. Also, would facilitate the Edge & Christian Reunion Tour I have a chubby for.
3. Mickie James - She's been a successful heel before and the whole Piggie James angle is a great jumping off point to make that happen again.
4. William Regal - A bad ass tweener face (Stone Cold) would work. Have him be a face without playing it up to the crowd. This guy is very talented and one of the more entertaining personalities on TV IMO. He deserves a final title reign (I say IC title) and some cheers from the masses before he hangs them up for good.
and one that is probably not very popular..
5. Rey Mysterio - His "pander to the kiddies/underdog good guy" schtick is getting old. Who wouldn't like to see something like a heel Rey vs. Kofi or Yoshi Tatsu?
HONORABLE MENTION
The Hart Dynasty - They have the right name to be fan favorites, and I think with a better push and a renewed focus on tag team wrestling within WWE, these youngsters could be long-term champions.

HHH as heel has been done to death.. the only difference between good guy HHH hitting you with a sledgehammer and bad guy HHH hitting you with a sledgehammer is one smiles afterward and panders to the crowd while the other growls, makes angry facial expressions, and acts like a intellectually- disabled bull.
Point being... Triple H as a fan favorite, imo, has a lot of untapped potential. It's to bad the most we get out of him at the moment is cheap shills, lame insider jokes, and almost no time in the title picture. We could have had him put on classics, but that's HBK's role.
I also gotta disagree about Kane... unless you guys are under the believe he's a full fledged heel, I think right now he's a tweener and that's where he needs to be. His monster who hates everyone days have hit the brick wall and it's about time he reaches out to his freaks that support him and his tiresome attempt at being world champion.

Edge - If he is that psycho badass like he was leading in to the HIAC with 'Taker. I think he should grow out the full beard again too.
Triple H - I'm getting tired of him as a face.
John Cena - Turns his back on the fans and becomes a full-fledged heel.
Matt Hardy - The only way he will be able to possibly move up into the main event scene.
Christian - Maybe him as a tweener again like he was before he went to TNA. -

I agree about Beth Phoenix. I mean you have the biggest heel diva on the roster in Michelle McCool, nobody cheers for her. Maryse gets half the arena cheering for her. They should have McCool stay champion til Wrestlemania, by then Beth can be a full fledged face. They are supposed to have a diva's royal rumble, beth can win that and feud with Michelle for the women's title and finally end her reign. It's easy to write. I mean they have slowly started it, plus I'd like to see Beth back where she belongs and then eventually move into a feud with Natalya, which would then be my two favorite women in the company against each other. Beth is my favorite woman currently in the industry and my second favorite of all time. I've been watching Beth since 2004.

DX/heel (yes both of them) MVP/heel (cause he sure ain't doing nothing as a face) Hurricane/heel (I miss the Gregory Helms version) Bourne/heel (a super cocky high flyer could work well) Orton/face (have Legacy turn on him and pound the heel out of him)

John Cena: Some argue this won't happen because he's such a draw. I argue he will draw as much, if not more because everyone will want to see him get his ass beat. Not only will the usual crowd hate him (older fans, the male demo), but the little kids will want to see him go down because he turned his back on them. I can argue that ratings, buy rates and ticket sales will go up, while merchandise levels or cools down. It's a risk worth taking at this point.
Edge: His heel character really has nowhere to go at this point. A solo heel Edge, quite frankly, is a boring Edge; he needs someone on his arm, be it Lita or Vicky. Turn him face and let him work the microphone in a way only he knows best. He has the ability to cut a great face promo without sounding like he's playing too much to the audience. He will also retain many of his fans from his lengthy heel run because he is, overall, very likable.
Shawn Michaels: A final heel run before he calls it quits is a necessity. Give him the strap and let him feud with Triple H. He could easily blame Hunter for ruining DX, taking it in an entirely different direction from what it was originally meant to be: an act of rebellion, a f*ck you to authority -- NOT a constant pandering to the child-aged fans. He could be bitter, angry and cocky. For the love of God, just get him out of DX and let him cut some more promos. He's good at it.
Randy Orton: This might end up being a complete character transformation, and it would take some time, but let him grow his hair back out. Have him ditch Legacy; they're fine without him right now, and he's done his job in establishing him. There is a ton of potential for him to be a not-so-serious face, maybe a wannabe ladies' man. Not so much a lovable oaf, but someone with a lot of confidence who can dominate a promo. Since adopting his "viper" persona, his ability to cut even a short promo has evaporated. Remember his RNN Updates? I want that guy. He was funny, charming, women loved him, men envied him, kids found him fantastic and he was a ton of fun to watch. Now he's boring, dry and in need of a spark.
Ezekiel Jackson: This dude has it. He's got size, power, some speed and a great look. I want to see him as a face sometime in the not-too-distant future. Let him go out there, dominate a few guys, maybe tag with some of the bigger names and let him have a killer run with a midcard title. He lacks a personality right now and kind of looks like Ahmed Johnson (kind of a lot), so change up his look, test him out on the stick, see if it happens. If it doesn't you can at least say you tried.
