After my New Year's Day hunting spree, I came away with one of everything I wanted EXCEPT for the two I wanted most - Elite Punk & Edge. I found them both at a Target, but they only had one of each and Edge had a black smear on his chest (presumably from his coat). But Punk on the other hand... his facial paint was off and his mustache was crooked and coming out of the corner of his mouth. It looked like he had either been eating chocolate cake or *gasp* his own mustache. Is this common to all Elite Punk figs or just a random slip up?

I haven't seen anything major wrong yet. I have had to take some nail polish remover to a couple with black smudges.. But what line of figures won't have a few that has something wrong? I'm sure you'll find some others that will be fine.

i've had a few paint problems with various figures my beth phoenix had a smudged design on her left leg, finlay had smudged paint on his left leg, and elite rey had a smudge on his right leg.

I've seen a few paint issues, but honestly JAKKS had much more frequent paint issues. The only real mess-up I saw was a few Basic HHH's with real messed up faces. My loose 2-pack HBK has a few paint smudges on his pants, but there's so many designs and paint apps on it I can forgive a few smudges.

i was gonna buy an elite punk myself on 1/1 at TRU - but there was a big black smear on his wrist tape and on his other arms tats - then i ordered one from ringside, i hope it's better.

I know there will be some paint issues with any figures - they are mass produced, after all, and not lovingly hand-painted by an army of Peruvian children. I didn't mean my post to be any kind of criticism of Mattel.
Thanks for the tip with the polish - wish I had gotten that Edge now. I just wanted to make sure that all of the Punks weren't mis-painted like that.

Nah, just a random mishap with the paint at the factory. All the elite Punks I've looked at, including mine, look good.

i'm the guy standing in the action figure isle with 4 of the same figure, staring at them trying to figure out which is the best one! i've been collecting gi joe's, wrestling figs, and many other things since i was a kid. i'm 28 now and let me tell you, i haven't changed. but yes, i had to look at a couple cm punks to get one i wanted. and one punk i was looking at had his lip ring on the side of his face and his facial hair was completly off!! so keep searchin, you'll find one. i go through this with any figure line i'm collecting. in fact i bought another elite rey at k-mart last night because i found a better looking one there! i hadn't opened mine yet so i'm just taking the other back today. keep huntin'!!

no but a bourne I saw at TRU today had red crap all over his arms. I think it's funny how critical we all are now and how we are checking over the figures and everything for loose joints and smudges and everything before we buy them. Where as before we'd find the figure and just snatch it up immediately.
