For all those anal enough to care, the 1/1000s are technically not 1/1000, as there are packaging variants.
I'm speaking of course in reference to those found at Walmart. Most Walmart 1/1000 finds will have a blue "Only at Walmart" sticker with a collector's guide inserted into the package. 1/1000s found elsewhere will not have this. Technically, assuming Walmart holds 50% of the USA's stock of 1/1000s, that would make the Walmart exclusive versions of the 1/1000s really 1/500.
However, with there being more retailers stocking Mattel: WWE products other than Walmart (Target, TRU, online merchants), we'd have to assume that Walmart would have somewhere closer to 1/3 to 1/5 of all the 1/1000s, thus making Walmart exclusive 1/1000 variants rarer.

from what the guy at walmart told me, no there are 1000 walmart versions and 1000 regular basic versions, so for example there are 2000 basic batista figures with belts..but he could be an idiot, which is what i tend to believe haha

I definitely get what you're saying about there being a specific "Wal-Mart variant" of the 1/1,000 figures. I'm not sure if they'd be more scarce, though.
If Wal-Mart had 1/3 of the 1/1,000 figures, wouldn't that make their version the most common? If we assume the remaining two thirds are divided up evenly among more than 2 stores, they would each have less than 1/3 for sure. I'm not sure about the 1/5 situation, because the only brick-and-mortar stores I can think of that carry them would be Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, and K-Mart.
I suppose if the 1/1,000s are also distributed to online retailers, that would really throw a wrench in the works.

Walmart figures have the variant packaging and are instantly recognisable.

What number are the 1/1000 Walmart figures including the insert people are finding. All the ones I have have seen so far are in the 800's - 1000's. Has anyone found a Walmart 1/1000 with the insert lower than this? If not could it be numbers 800 thru 1000 are only at Walmart?

Good eye Judge. I have found 3 1/1000 Batista figs at Walmart stores, thus far the ONLY 1/1000s I have found, and they're all in the 800+ number range.

Well, for the sake of people being able to find them, I hope Wal Mart has their own 1/1000 figures, 1000 of them. That would make it a bit easier to find!

What's with this obsession with the ugly chocolate coin belts, someone tell me... hey kangeroo, i agree the belts are not that good to look at. but for me, i love collecting wwe figs.. and the new mattel line has got me excited again.. with that said the 1/1000's are a nice thing for me because i of course would want all of the series 1 basic in 1/1000 form.. and most of the heritage set as well.. i do not care about the belt that much its just a chase that i must collect. i am glad mattel did something to start this set out.

I found a 1/1000 Wal-Mart John Cena tonight #827 / 1000 so there might be truth to the higher numbers being Wal-Mart only releases. The 1/1000 Evan Bourne I have I found last week at K Mart and is numbered #272 / 1000. Maybe someone can start tracking the known numbers we have found and the store purchased from in order to investigate? I am assuming these Wal-Mart editions will be similar to the Summerslam carded Hasbros from back in the day. A little RARER than most other series 1 releases, especially since they contain a collectors guide and Wal Mart only sticker.

BTW, two of those 1/1000 Batista figs I mentioned earlier are available for trade (for any other MOC Mattel 1/1000) if anyone is interested! [/cheap plug]

I got hhh at walmart and neither of them had the exclusive sticker. I'll double check later but I think they were the 600 range.

What's with this obsession with the ugly chocolate coin belts, someone tell me... its not the look of the belt people care about, its the novelty of it. Theres a lot of big collectors here, and this is the series 1 figure. People just want to find one so they can have it in theyre collection. I hate the look of the belt but ive still been skimming through all the pegs to make sure i dont pass one up to have in my collection.

It certainly seems as if the Walmart figures with the booklet are all in the 800 - 1000 range. If this is the case then the Walmart figures become 1/200 (in theory). They aren't as common on the secondary market as the regular 1/1000. Another cool twist in Mattel collecting.
