I never really got the appeal of the Hardys from a 'mark' perspective. I mean I think they're talented and all, but when I was 10 I was much more a fan of the Acolytes who just  ing killed guys than the Hardys who seemed kinda girly. |

I'm not a kid. Jeff Hardy is one my favorites.
He has an uncanny ability to make each person in the arena feel like he is there for them. Not many wrestlers make that kind of connection with the crowd.
As much as we make fun of the .gif with the poofy haired emo kid, those emotions that those people had were real. Very few wrestlers were able to invoke the fans to make an actual emotional investment in them. Jeff Hardy was able to that.
Just my opinion.

He puts himself through a table every now & then ... and leaps off a ladder. Kids love that type of stuff

Kids don't know he's a washed out druggie.
He's full of energy (well he used to be), he jumps off of ladders and other high platforms, he sometimes wears facepaint and he comes out to cool purple strobe lights.
That's cool.

Who cares if he's a drug addict? Jeez, no need to get personal. The guy is a great wrestler, always puts on a great match and simply looks cool. That's all there is too it. And before you say they made his drug addict public, well that's their fault. His life, and he can snort coke off Matt's belly for all I care. role models are suppose to be just that, kids look up to him so him being a druggie is a big deal specially when it makes headlines. Guy has had multiple chances and just can't seem to bury his demons, which i have no doubt one of these days they are gonna bury him. |
