This has to be one ofthe worst days in my 17 year life.
Well first this morning getting ready for work, I get news that my gran has died (It wasn't totally a shock as she was getting on and was deteriorating in hospital), so this really affected my concentracion in work today.
So on my way home from work my dad phone's me to tell me that some vandals had set fire to the garage, of course All my figures amongst other things had been put in here while my room get's decorated.
So I got home and checked on the mess, Almost everything in there was charred. Alot of my Dad's stuff and My ENTIRE Figure collection was burnt way beyond repair along with some posters, a few of my Dvd's and one or 2 things that were autographed. The only things I managed to dig out where: an RA Viscera Figure, No Way Out PPV Edge Figure and a steel chair.
My Dad has obviously reported this and police will be checking the CCTV in our area, and doing whatever they do. I just can't believe how bad a day I've had, and with a funeral coming up it's not going to get any better just yet.
10 years of my life have just went up in flames.
I have decided I am going to give away the 2 figures that were found in the mess because I don't see a point in keeping them now. I shall do the giveaway later on in the week.

Wow that's awful. I am so sorry for both of your loses. Look at this as an opportunity to start over new with mattel. Also, if you have insurance that should cover some costs

Really sorry to hear this.
That's sucks....no other way to put it.
Sorry about both of your losses....mostly of your family member as things can be replaced but people can't.
You can always rebuild a figure collection. Or start new with Mattel.

If you have house insurance an adjuster should be able to come out and estimate the damage. Putting togethier a list of each individual figure you had along witht the doller value may help you get a portion of the value back, depending on your coverage for collectables.

TBI, I'm extremely sorry to hear about all of this.
I woke up on Christmas morning to find out that I had lost my Grandmother. I am still trying to get over everything, but things are getting better slowly. If you ever need to talk, shoot me a PM.
Regarding your figures, it's a very unfortunate loss indeed. As a collector, I know how much time, money and effort is invested into acquiring everything. Maybe take some time to reflect on your family first, celebrate your Grandmothers life, then see how you feel about collecting after things have settled down.
Things will look up soon.
