Thank you for doing all of that. Very interesting and helpful. It's so strange, I just can't bring myself to take apart these figures...
And, that Beth figure looks amazing with the gloss. I think I'll do the same thing.

That's awesome, man. Thanks!
I've taken a Mattel figure apart but I just couldn't do a torso split. Mattel pretty much stole the design for an RA figure and used it for their figures.
Also, I've tried some hybrids and they don't really work. I put the Mattel Jericho kick pads on a Jakks Jericho figure. It looks good but it makes Jericho as tall as a Jakks Big Show. That's where I discovered why I hate the Mattel figures and why they look so strange to me. They're the same size as RA figures but their legs and boots are waaay too long.

very cool of you to do that. definitley surprised to see such similarities between Jakks and Mattel on the inner workings.
Alot of Mattel's pieces are smaller, which...to me...would seem to make for more difficult customizing. Overall it seems to be the same style switching legs, lower arms, and hands as Jakks
Two things Mattel did better... shoulder joints & head. - I like how the head peg is connected inside the torso, this makes the head pop off by itself without the stupid peg getting in the way. - The shoulder joints have no visible connection on the outside which is a smart move and something I always wondered why Jakks never figured out. It makes shoulder tattoos much better (like Edge's sun)

Thanks for the pics, was very interesting to see and kudos to you for taking one for the team. The mattel figures, both externally and internally appear to be better made and seem like an upgrade of the RA style. The shoulder joints in particular are brilliant and its great the peg is connected to the body so there is no chance of the peg coming out with it or trying to mess around with pegs. Thanks for showing this. Oh and by the way, beths attire looks amazing coated in gloss, very nice idea.

Thanks for the pics, really helpful. Glad that the parts can still be removed with hot water. I look forward to mattel headswapping if better scans come out in the future. Also do the joints become loose when you replace them back in?

Good to see that the figure won't be all that hard to take apart. Just need to figure out what superstars i need to get so I can make my custom.
How hard is it to crack the torso? Like how would you begin without destorying the body?

Kudos, my friend. I've been curious about taking apart a Mattel figure and was too much of a chicken to buy one and try it. Do you think it's possible to switch parts or do you pretty much have to use a whole figure because of the parts?

Awesome. Thanks for the pics.
Does anyone know if there is a video or something on how to crack a Mattel torso?
I wish there was pics of a disassembled Elite figure. Anyone know of any?
Thanks!
