just something i've been noticing,stewing about...seems like the distribution on these figures is all over the place....for example,i've been hunting these since January 1st,and this is what i've seen:
Wal-Mart #1 :
Flex Force series 1 - Taker,Punk,Hardy
Flex Force with accessories
Elite Series 1
2-packs series 1
Wal-Mart #2:
Flex force series 1
Flex Force with accessories
Elite series 1
Wrestlemania Heritage
Ringside Greats series 1
HHH / Orton Belt pack
2-packs Series 2
Wal-Mart #3:
Flex Force series 1
Wrestlemania Heritage
K-Mart #1:
Flex Force - Mysterio,Cena,HBK
Repaint Series 1 wave
2-packs series 1
Wrestlemania Heritage
K-Mart # 2:
Basic series 1
2-Packs series 2
Toys R Us:
Elite series 1
2-packs series 1
....now,i find it hard to believe every figure from the missing lines has sold out at these places...why are some places getting some waves,other places aren't? and it's nuts - Basic series 2 is hitting Wal-Mart's,and quite a few of them haven't even got series ONE yet?
what is going on here??!!

Here is comes...floods of people saying that Mattel is "killing teh line" because of shoddy distribution.
Sure, some stores have gotten more or different product then others, but these things have been hitting pretty much everywhere in substantial numbers.
If you can't get Basics 1 at "store A" yet, you can get it a "store B"
But at the same time "store B" may have Basics 2 already.
I see this as a good thing, as opposed to a shortage on overall product. When that happens, scalpers get hard-ons and things get ugly.
EDIT: mikey1974, I wasn't in any way directing anything I said toward you. It just seems that folks like to get on Mattel because of past mishaps on distribution, when in reality, they have been great for a couple years.

That sounds like it's a problem within the stores. Mattel ships it to the various stores distribution centers/warehouses...and they distribute them to their stores. If one Kmart has had basics but the other hasn't it sounds like that's a problem with Kmarts distribution. But part of the problem could be that the stores seem to be lumping Basics/Heritage/Repaints under the same inventory number. I've gone to TRU with a Basic Series 1 HHH UPC & Heritage Austin UPC and both come up on TRU's computers as the same inventory number of 337070. And Target has all 3 series under the same DPCI. So if the warehouse sends out case of basics to stores it could be any of those 3 series and not just basics.

That's because the Elites have their own inventory # becuase of the higher price point. Same as the 2-Packs. But Basics/Heritage/Repaints all have the same inventory # at the various stores. (not sure about WalMart). But if they scan the UPC barcode at TRU all 3 lines(Basics/Heritage/Repaints) come up in their computers as 337070 And at Target the Basics/Heritage/Repaints all have the same DPCI #. |

I have found everything easily. Except for Basic Series 2, I can't think of anything I couldn't go out and get right now.

stop your wining about not getting basics 2 please. I have only seen 1 elite and I have gone too 3 stores each 2x. 1 of the stores doesn't have anything. Walmart had 2 packs series 1, flex force and flexforce with acc., wrestlemania heritage and basics. Didn't even have the whole sets of either. Kmart had entrance greats, elite taker, wrestlemania heritage and basics, 2 packs series 1. I didn't find set 2 of 2 packs which I really want a primo. I didn't find the single jericho I wanted either. so yes they kinda are crapty.

I feel ya man...my local Wal-Mart only has Basic Series 1 and nothin' eles. I have to go to Memphis Wal-Mart,Target or Toys R Us. I dont really blame Mattel though. I blame $h*tty Wal-Marts  |

I think you have that backwards the 2-Pack has the brown trim on the chaps and Iwas told the singles has black trim on the chaps. I didn't know the boots were a different color though. Mattel has been and continues to be inept in distributing their JLU figures and DCUC figures and DC Infinite Heroes figures (and Cars!) and never seem to learn from their mistakes like the bungled 2002 MOTU line. I've found all the WWE figures they've made so far (except Wave 2 2-packs but they'll come out in due time) but as time goes by, we'll see if they can finally get it right. |

While I agree with you on the DC collectors lines (DCUC/DCIH/JLU) especially JLU which for the last couple years was a Target exclusive so there was no excuse for that not getting on the pegs. But with the WWE I have to blame the stores here. Because like I stated above at TRU if you scan either a Basic/Heritage/or Repaints figures UPC barcode they all register in the TRU computers as item #337070. And at Target the Basics/Heritage/Repaints all have the same DPCI #. So when the distribution center ships them to their stores they are thinking that all 3 are the same series instead of 3 different lines. So instead of getting all 3 lines at the store they could be getting all or 1 depending on which cases they put on the truck. |
