Anyone else think this? I mean look back when Jakks first came out i remember BCA series 1 and 2 both on the shelves at the same time. Also they both had stands that came with the figures. With that i'm very excited to see what else Mattel pulls out.

I was thinking about something similar when they first came out about how they will evolve.
A year from now will we look at all the series one's and think the head and faces are complete crap compared to what they will be putting out then? Will they do away with Basics completely at some point? Will they change molds for arms and torso's, rendering some of them vastly obsolete like the Batista SHW torso from RA2? Will tattoo's on wrestlers such as Batista and Rey Mysterio improve to a realistic appearance? These are some issues I try to remember while looking at the new line.
Triple H's figs are pretty bad right now, I refuse to buy one, just because there is so much room for improvement.
I've bought Elite CM Punk, MVP and Undertaker without a care because I really don't think they can improve on those figures drastically in the next few releases.
I'm also waiting to see HBK's head/face improve... right now it's mostly the hair coloring, lack of beard and length of his hair, but it does need an improvement.
I'm happy to see the figures taken into a more realistic appearance, but I also appreciate the height scale. It's a no brainer, CM Punk and Edge Jakks figures look ridiculous now with their large legs and taller frame.

For the time, Jakks was good. The detail and scale are far superior on these new Mattel figures. These are perfect for collectors.
I do think that they may not hold up as well for kids playing with them. They do not seem as strong and seem to "scuff" easier. I was always able to clean up my son's Jakks figures using a Magic Eraser. I dont think these will be as easy.
Anyone have any thoughts?

The one thing that I'm afraid of is Mattel switching styles on us ala Jakks. From BCA to TTL to R3 to RA, I hated starting over and over....lol

I think they will change over time as technology comes out with these. Look at Jakks started with BCA and this was back in 1995,1996 when no technology was out like today. So i think we will see improvements and different changes.

So i think we will see improvements and different changes. That's to be expected of course but I for one hope it isn't too drastic or at least keeps the same scale as what we have now with Mattel. Might be a lot to ask but I for one hated have a bunch of BCA mixed with TTL an so on and so on....lol
