I am expecting to get a very bias answer, but I'll ask it anyway.
But anyways, I was a heavy Jakks collector, and I really hated the look of Mattel figures. But I saw them in stores and I am very much leaning on getting some. But I don't want to have to start an all new collection, but I'm wanting to give it a shot. Should I? Even though I have a good size Jakks collection?

I stopped collecting Jakks WWE about 3 years ago. Didnt really like the Mattels when I first saw the protos. After seeing some pics of the actual figures I decided I would get Stone Cold and Elite Taker (they were my first Jakks BCA when I first started collecting aswell). At first I had no plans on collecting but after getting my hands on the first few I was hooked. I now have 19 Mattel figures. I dont even watch alot of wrestling anymore but there is just something about these figures that I like and will continue to collect.

Pickup 1 or 2 and see if they are too your liking. I like them and found them to be better in Jakks in many ways and inferior in very few. Test it out and see if you like them. So you invest $20......might be worth and might not be. If not, resell on ebay and easily get $10+ back.

Saying that you are/were a heavy Jakks collector leads me to believe you have the 'sickness'. You are addicted to the figures, the joy of finding them, the thrill of the hunt. You can tell yourself you're not..try to deny it..like many of us have, but it's a lie. Having sold off all but a few of my Jakks figures, I told myself I would stop. I told myself that my money was better spent on more sensible things or put away. I told myself I was only going to buy 3-4 of the Mattel figures. Just a few of my favorite Superstars - Edge, Austin, Punk, Beth and maybe one or two more. That was 17 figures ago. If you don't wish to start a new collection, you need to go cold turkey. If you 'give it a shot' as you say, you're finished, done, hooked again. Good luck.

Buying Figs is no different than buying sneakers , jeans , hats , cell phones , ipods etc. Sensible things are food , rent , those things are a must spend. Buying Figs is hobbie . Like buying new a cell phone every year cause they updated the style .

CablesV is right, its not common that people buy them and become so dissatisfied they stop completely. I know the mindset as well when you think "i'll only get a few, just ones that will fit" but its too hard not to cave and buy a stack of mattels. Just try them out i guess, havent got much to lose. Elite punk is a great place to start as is taker.

Niketalk Dot Com was one. Well , it was a sneaker forum. But its not a big deal . This is somthing not to be worried about.

You're not starting a new collection, you're just continuing your WWE collection into 2010. Get on it! These figures are great.

collecting Mattel figures is like eating Pringles, once you start you never stop! I agree. I was really into Jakks figures, but once I bought Mattel WWE figures I've become very addicted. I check at least 1 store for them every day on the way back from work or even when I'm on my way to see my GF I will take a little detour and look in the Target and K-Mart near her house! lol Mattel figures are just so awesome. I appreciate the detail that was put into them and FINALLY having figures in as close to realistic scale as we have ever seen before it AWESOME. For all those years we had figures like Rey Mysterio and Undertaker being the SAME SIZE. Now Mattel has corrected that problem. It makes me want to buy them more because I don't feel like I'm getting ripped off like Jakks leaving off the details or using the wrong parts and me having to spend EXTRA money to buy guys just for spare parts to fix the mistakes!
