Finally bucked up and bought the TRU Cena/Edge 2 pack with belt. I really really wanted that Edge.
So I get it home, unbox it and see that Edge's legs are all warped and the whole figure bends to the left and barely stands up with the stand, and Cena's left leg is all jacked up, it doesn't touch at the seams and it looks like there is about a 1/4" offset between bottom leg and shorts. This makes it impossible to even stand the figure.
So I take it back to TRU, they wont take it back at all because it is open. They told me I have to contact the manufacture for a replacement.
So I get home, call Mattel, and the rep on the phone told me that Mattel doesn't even make wrestling toys. I ask for a supervisor and when the supervisor gets on the phone she insists that Mattel doesn't sell or make wrestling figures.
Anyone have any contacts or know of any ideas to try to get a replacement Edge and Cena?
Thanks guys!

You can't get replacement figures. With Mattel normally all you can do is get a Man. coupon for the price to get a new one. Mattel's Cust Serivce probably doesn't have it in their systems yet. I know they were about a month behind with their Batman items when they started the 6" line. You can call them again and give them the Mattel Item # on the back of the box and probably the # on the figures to get your coupon. (I know with the Batman stuff I called about I had to gve the Man # from the box as well as a # on the batmobile) But you should be able to take it back to TRU and exchange it for a new one as long as you have the receipt.

I've never heard of TRU doing that before. I open figures and if I don't like them or change my mind I just return them with no problems. I'd try again at TRU. Or call in and talk to a manager. Good luck.

Places should always let you return faulty items. I'm fairly sure Toys R Us would have no problem exchanging something you bought from there if it was defective. (As for toys you've opened and not liked, I don't think they should take those back... That's how so many people get away with putting old Jakks figures in Mattel packaging and returning them.)
Do you have any pictures of the figures?

Do you have any pictures of the figures? Exactly this. The store should have a company policy allowing you to return a faulty product providing you have the receipt. You may have just had a lazy employee who didnt want to go through the process. Mattels customer serivce, as reported so far, seems to have been good unlike in your circumstance which is a bit odd.

I don't know what can be done with Cena, some pics would probably help me diagnose the situation. As for Edge, mine had the same problem. It's all because these figures are not put into that internal plastic mold that other figures are put into. Instead they are produced, placed in plastic bags and placed loose in the box.
Here are my two recommendations - 1) heat Edges legs in hot water or some use a air dryer. Then place him flat on his back and but something between his legs to hold them in place and keeps them from 'closing in on each other'. let it cool for awhile. 2) and probably best - If you have an figures empty box/package/blister card or whatever they are called, heat the legs and place him in the internal plastic mold they are packaged in. Allow it to cool and then remove.
I have used both techniques in the past and they have both worked. good luck.

Simple. Put the figures back in, and glue it back up and return it. Don't even say anything other than you didn't want it. To be extra sure...take it to a different TRU. The more you tell those goofs at the service desk, the worse it gets for you.
