My dad just called me that he was at Wal-mart and he found me the Mattel Series 2 Miz and Morrison 2-pack. So he went to buy it and it rings up RESTRICTED. My dad tried to tell them how it's at other stores and stuff since I've found the Carlito/Primo set already and they wouldn't let him buy it. They said it might be recalled and they will have to send it back to the manufacturer....how stupid is that? lol. Looks like I gotta look for this pack on my own...Wal-mart.... Is it cause they shouldn't be out on shelves yet? Did Wal-mart get in trouble for releasing them early? Why is it on the shelf? The Carlito/Primo one was there too....not the one I got but my dad said he saw it there. Someone obviously bought the Finlay/Hornswoggle pack...dumb.

That seems like the only logical explanation. I could see Wal-mart realizing that they put the sets out too early and recalling them. The only thing that doesn't make sense is that PJ mention on another Thread that Series 2 2packs are in stock at TRU, so I don't see why Wal-mart would have to recall them if other stores have them.

Yeah it makes no sense to me unless they got yelled at. Why put them out on the shelf though? Sure you can say it was a mistake but if the Hornswoggle and Finlay pack is missing then... Whatever, it sucks but I'll just have to find it on my own.

They wouldn't recall them if they weren't supposed to be out yet, recalls happen when products are dangerous. There would be no sense in Mattel sending the figures out, and then saying, "oh hai, srry... can we haz figs back nao? K thnx" and the stores sending them back.
Either they are being recalled because of some hazard, or uhhh... well, I don't know.

I found the second series of the 2 packs way before they were supposed to even come out. Wal Mart was probably reprimanded for putting the sets out too early. But if even if that's the case, why would you keep the figures on the shelves and tease everyone whose looking to buy those figures?

I remember last year trying to buy a Dora shirt (for a 3 year old ) at Wal-Mart and it wouldn't ring up right and the woman told me it was recalled. Went to K-Mart and got the same shirt with no problem. What that has to do with your problem I don't know but I'm sure there's a point in there somewhere haha.

I live in a rural area and my Walmart puts everything out early. I have bought DVDs, Blu Rays, CDs and figures all before street date.
This also means that I run into the "RESTRICTED" problem all of the time. I guess it is a generic code because the last figure I bought that came up as restricted was out about a week early. They told me it must have been recalled. A week later, the same figure was back on the shelf.
Go figure. All Walmarts suck the same amount I guess.
and by the way, my local TRU had all of the Series 2 2-packs in stock as of last Friday and they are all gone except one lone Primo/Carlito set. My Kmart never got them in at all.

Yeah if you look at the bottom of each box it says"Confirms to the safety requirements of ASTM F963."
Here is the ASTM f963 requirements,(Srryz forz being so longz)
1.1 This specification relates to possible hazards that may not be recognized readily by the public and that may be encountered in the normal use for which a toy is intended or after reasonably foreseeable abuse. It does not purport to cover every conceivable hazard of a particular toy. This specification does not cover product performance or quality, except as related to safety. Except for the labeling requirements pointing out the functional hazards and age range for which the toy is intended, this specification has no requirements for those aspects of a toy that present an inherent and recognized hazard as part of the function of the toy. Such an example is a sharp point necessary for the function of a needle. The needle is an inherent hazard that is well understood by the purchaser of a toy sewing kit, and this hazard is communicated to the user as part of the normal educational process.
1.2 On the other hand, while a riding toy has inherent hazards associated with its use (for example, falling off onto the sidewalk), the possible hazards associated with its construction (sharp edges, exposed mechanisms, etc.) will be minimized by the application of this specification.
1.3 This specification covers requirements and contains test methods for toys intended for use by children under 14 years of age. Different age limits for various requirements will be found in this specification. These limits reflect the nature of the hazards and expected mental or physical ability, or both, of a child to cope with the hazards.
1.4 Articles not covered by this specification are as follows: Bicycles Tricycles Sling shots and sharp-pointed darts Playground equipment Non-powder guns Kites Hobby and craft items in which the finished item is not primarily of play value Model kits in which the finished item is not primarily of play value Crayons, paints, chalks, and other similar art materials in which the material itself or the finished item is not primarily of play value, except that all art materials, whether or not a component of a toy, must comply with LHAMA, in accordance with 4.29.1-4.29.3. Toy Chests Sporting goods, camping goods, athletic equipment, mu- sical instruments, and furniture; however, toys that are their counterparts are covered. (It is recognized that there is often a fine line between, for example, a musical instrument or a sporting item and its toy counterpart. The intention of the producer or distributor, as well as normal use and reasonably foreseeable abuse, deter- mines whether the item is a toy counterpart.) Powered models of aircraft, rockets, boats, and land vehicles; however, toys that are their counterparts are

Not sure if this is related or not, but when I found the 2-packs at a K-Mart in Maine a couple of weeks ago, I only found 2 or 3 of the Carlito/Primo pack and 1 of the Finlay/Hornswoggle pack. Thankfully I wasn't planning on getting the Morrison and Miz pack, but I found it kind of funny that there weren't any there considering that I thought it was supposed to be the one that was 3 to a case.

Same problem with the WalMart's in southern California. Bought the other two 2-packs without a problem. Tried at three different WalMart's to get Morrison and the Miz and all three times the "recall" notice came up. Makes you think someone punched in a wrong code when they were entering this 2-pack into the system.

Yeah something doesn't make sense? I doubt it's just that specific 2-pack...stupid whatever the reasoning is...I'll just wait for their singles I guess or until I find that 2-pack somewhere else...if anyone knows the specific reasoning for the recall let me know.
Someone else reported that all of Series 2 is recalled so...who knows?

with these just hitting WM HQ told me that RESTRICTED/RECALLED means that they have NOT been entered into there systems yet and that that is the GENERAL code they use as to NOT being entered..once the figures get entered into the system, they will be good to go..it is just a glitch that WM has been having..this happened with DCUC around XMAS

It makes me believe that Mattel accidentally shipped these out before they were supposed to go.
