I'm back with some more requests, this time instead of classic rock I'm looking for some good old school rap recommendations 80s and early to mid 90s only (nothing past 95 and NO SUGARHILL GANG lol). I want some good songs by Tupac, Biggie, Snoop Dog, Cypress Hill, ODB, Busta Rhymes (not sure if he was around before 95), and anyone else that is good. Thanks.

Tupac- Keep your head up, Brenda's got a baby, I ain't mad at ya, until the end of time. He's also done a remix/cover of Phil Collins's "In the Air Tonight"
MC Lyte- Ch Cha Cha. Before you say anything, litsten to the song and how by 1989's rap standards ,she totally murders the track.
Grand Master Flash- The Message. Diddy has this guy to than for one of his bigest hits ever.
Ice Cube- Today Was a Good Day.
LL Cool J- I can't Live Without My Radio
May not be what you meant by old school rap, but that't about as old school as rao gets.

Anything Eazy-E touched was great in my opinion, which in turn goes to NWA. As mentioned above Ice Cube as well is and was phenomenal.

i hate to break it to you but hip hop had its greatest year in 1998.
The Artifacts, A Tribe Called Quest, Blacksheep, early Redman.
Try and find Infinite by Eminem, his first album which to me is the rawist craphe has ever put out.

But to appreciate most modern rap and rap from the 90's, in my opinion, you gotta go to the roots of rap. Really experience where lots of these new guys got some of their most popular beats from and inspirations as well. Heck, I'm not even hardcore into old school rap like that. But I do enjoy and respect it.

Not to sound like a prick but I could really care less about the greatest break out year for rap and I'm definitely all set with Eminem. Just because you or anybody else for that matter likes that kind of rap doesn't mean I have to. It's my playlist and I don't want anything past 1995.
