For the last 3 days my local Wal Mart has put out new stock of Mattel figures. This was also the first time they got them in. Each day a new set or several sets would appear that were'nt there the previous day.
So today I spoke with the dept. manager and asked if anything else was in the back because some basic series 2 were mixed in with everything else but not the ones I wanted. At first he said "nope thats everything" and then said " no wait we have big show/cena rings that havent made it out yet".
He then went on to tell me that the warehouse sent them more stock than the store is allowed to carry. And that they decided to put the extra stuff in the system and get it out to sell. (could explain that whole restricted items reported earlier). He said the reset was suppose to be 8 feet of mattel ( the action figure aisle was suppose to be 60 feet total) but this store will only carry approx 2- 4 feet! of mattel. so what they have right now is going to get smaller.
He also told me he would take my name and # and could order a case but couldnt guarantee what he would get. He can only order a case of wrestling figures not a specific series or set.
I was very pleased to speak with someone who actually knew what he was talking about.
Long story short, keep an eye out for your mattel sections to get smaller depending on the size of your store!

Every Walmart I've been in only has small sections for Mattel. I just find it odd that it varies so much from store to store what they are selling. For instance today I went to Walmart here in Groton all they had was WMH, Flex Force, 2 Packs Series 1, belts and some rings. Yet I took a 5 minute ride over to the next one in Waterford and found 2 Packs Series 2, Basic Series 2, EG HBK & Mysterio, the belt with Trips/Orton & ring with Cena/Show plus all the stuff that Groton had.

the 2 i regularly visit also have a small section for stuff, stuck between Ben 10 and Marvel stuff...anywhere from 3-6 pegs for Basics and Elite,3 pegs for Flex Force, and the rest of the stuff on 2 shelves right below them...consistent with the 2 - 4 feet model MDK mentioned...
could be worse...TRU in wilkes-Barre still has 3/4 of the wrestling section full of Jakks stuff!

My WalMart has gone down to 4ft this week. They had a front end cap for about 1 week but that was it. My Kmart has pretty much nothing left of Mattel and it is only on a front end cap the actual aisle is still clogged with Jakks Classic Warlord and Mr. Fuji and ECW Tazz
