I been comparing some of the elite figures such as MVP and Cm Punk to some of the basics like Jericho and Kofi and ive notcied that the elites seem to lack size in the upper bodies. MVP is a bulky guy but he looks skinny next to Kofi Kingston who in real life is alot smaller than MVP.
Just a small complaint really I have with mattel so far.

i've been pretty happy with all of my elites - however, MVP is the only one i passed on. this is pretty funny considering before Mattel dropped, i was most excited about the MVP fig than any. then when 1/1 came around, i found him and just wasn't stoked. my wife pointed out that he looked funny. i agreed. but the Rey, 'Taker, Edge and Punk elites are all amazing IMO.
i always thought the Jakks figs were TOO bulky. (i HATED the legs on everyone, thighs much?) these Mattels are much more realistic, and i appreciate that greatly. the only thing they need to work on are slight improvements to the heads (details only). can't wait to see what this line produces.

They are definitley too skinny. I really like the Punk's attire & tattoo detail but his torso is just too narrow. MVP I believe has the same width torso as well. It's my only real problem with those Elites
It seems like some guys have it, some dont. The Elite 2 HHH & Batista torsos are great, better than their basics

If you add too much bulk (Mark Henry) you sacrifice "across the chest" playability. I love that the Undertaker's hands can interlock during a Tombstone.

MVp was definitley noticible, but I thought the body was great for Punker.

The Elite Orton next to the Cody Rhodes looks like a stick with sickly arms, just saying.

my only beef with the elite line is guys like Triple H or Batista, their waist lines look like they have 25 inch waist. look way too skinny in that area and to me it ruins them. I have the Elite CM Punk however and I love it, looks good with the basics.

They need to really over-haul the Triple H torso. If they're going to try and give everyone else more realistic bodies, they shouldn't be giving him the superman looking torso he's been getting. He really looks like he doesn't fit well with the rest of the line.-except Batista, since they have basically the same bodies.... I'd like to see him get less defined looking legs too, but i could live with them if they at least change the rest.

I don't really like the Elite figures I have.
The torso's are too skinny and the joint is WAY more noticeable than on Jakks DA figures.
Mattel also screwed up the Elite pelvis. They made the ass so big that the figure can not more it's legs in a BACKWARD direction.
So far I have 6 Elites (all of series 1 and if you count Beth Phoenix) and 15 Basic figures and I like my Basics a LOT more.
Hopefully Mattel fixes the flaws with the figures. I don't want to spend $15 on a figure unless I absolutely love it. I can almost get 2 Basics for the price of 1 Elite.

I don't care for the Elite bodies either. They look cheap, skinny and lack some of the playability I was expecting of them. Paying five dollars more for 3 extra POA and some boring extras is a waste of money.

I think they're bulky enough. Maybe I'd like to see one scaled between the Orton torso & the HHH torso. I don't care for the Elite bodies either. They look cheap, skinny and lack some of the playability I was expecting of them. Paying five dollars more for 3 extra POA and some boring extras is a waste of money. Actually it's 9 more points of articulation - ab crunch, outward hips, cut thighs, double knees & ankle pivots. And I also like the Basics more.

I agree, Elite Series 2 Rand Orton looks like a 12 year old kid.

I agree, Elite Series 2 Rand Orton looks like a 12 year old kid. I don't like that he is missing the tattoo detail on the shoulder area of his torso. For Mattel to put so much effort into the details on the arm and leave off the skulls on the torso/shoulder is just lazy.

MVP was way too small, but I don't think it's because of the Elite line, per se. I think it's just that Mattel doesn't yet have enough variety in the torsos they use. They had to spend a lot of money up front to tool all new parts for the line (the biggest tooling investment ever for the company, they claim). In time, I think we'll see a broader variety of torsos for all the lines, so things should improve.
I think the torsos work for most everyone else. Punk seems right, Orton is a lot thinner than he used to be in real life, and the Batista I picked up is pretty adequately ripped. Jakks were WAY overstuffed, in my opinion, so if you favored those I can definitely see why you would be disappointed in these.
As for the difference between Basics and Elites, I myself wondered what differences there were apart from the articulation and the accessories. After seeing Basic Punk at Walmart yesterday, the difference in detail between his attire and tattoos is day and night. Basic tattoos were much less dense, less detail, and the stars on his tights were one solid color, no outline, and his boots and kickpads had no detail at all. Seeing that officially sold me on the Elite line.
