Thought i'd make this thread to see what people's favourite anime is lol right now i have the urge to watch the entire Beyblade series, i remember watching that when it 1st aired in the UK in 2000  10 years ago So what is/was your favourite anime? I only ever caught yu-gi-oh, poke'mon and beyblade, everything else seems abit too farfetched |

Any answer that isn't Neon Genesis Evangelion is an incorrect answer. I typically don't watch any of that "Saturday Morning" anime. I watch anime because I like the more mature themes. We actually have a thread down in the comic book thread about anime/manga...but it's really just JJ, Mukau and myself posting at random times...but it's fun.  Anyways, on topic, my favorite is Rurouni Kenshin. Has been since I first saw it way before I really knew what manga and anime were. I just knew it was entertaining and I loved it. Some other ones I've grown fond of are DNAngel, Ghosthunter, Devil May Cry and Nabari No Ou. Like I said...if you want to pop in the anime thread down there, the more the merrier. Also, if you ever want some new recommendations, I'm your man. |

Like most kids who grew up in the late 90's/early 2000's. DBZ and Yugioh.
Other then that would be Detective Conan. But it's more of the Manga then the Anime

I would've given the typical answer of DBZ, which is still with out a doubt incredibly awesome. But that was before I discovered this..  It's called "Hajime No Ippo". When it was licenced in North America, it was renamed "Fighting Spirit" I absolutely love this toon. I'm looking at picking up some copies on DVD pretty soon as I've recently found some in FYE and Best Buy. Other than that I've only been able to watch it in parts over youtube. I actually discovered it by playing it's videogame first. |

Nothing beats Dragonball. It had action, comedy, and pissed you off a couple times because it took 4 damn episodes for Goku to charge up his spirit bomb and end up missing his target once he did. Everything I could ask for in an anime.
My other favorites are Naruto, Deathnote, and Full Metal Alchemist.

I remember he got knocked out and as the ref started the count, the whole episode was a flashback of how his mother used to cook him ramen and the rest of his childhood and once he finally woke up the ref was still on the 7th count. |

I also like Slayers... it's a pretty entertaining show. And Fullmetal Alchemest. I vehemently hated Fullmetal at first but I grew to like it after I sat down and actually got a couple episodes in. My friend also got me to watch Cowboy Bebop which was pretty great too.. and Hellsing.

Man, that show is terrible but I just couldn't look away. I blame 'car accident syndrome'. Anyhow, regarding actual anime, I'm a fan of anything Ghost In The Shell, Paradise Kiss, Monster, Honey and Clover, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Eureka Seven, BECK, Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star,... *a while later* ...Black Lagoon, Rurouni Kenshin, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Naruto Shippuuden (there is nothing wrong with liking 'Shippuuden'), Bleach (in moderation), Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Claymore, Big O, Yakitate!! Japan, Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, Ergo Proxy, Ichigo 100-percent (shut up), Black Jack, Ga-Rei -Zero-, Paranoia Agent, Outlaw Star, Gantz, and Sailor Moon! Just to name a few. And J.J., Mushishi --still-- sucks. Truth. |
