MMAJunkie.com is reporting that Frank Trigg confirmed his inclusion on the ever-growing list of fighters to have their contracts with the UFC terminated after fighting at "UFC 109:Relentless". Trigg, competing in the UFC for the second time since his 2009 return to the organization, took on Matt Serra at UFC 109 and lost via first round knock out. Trigg returned to the Octagon in 2009 after an almost three year absence from the organization. In his time away from the UFC he fought in other organizations, appeared on Total Nonstop Action Wrestling for a brief stint and broadcasted for Pride FC. In his return performance "Twinkle Toes" took on Josh Koscheck in a welterweight bout and lost by first round knockout.
Mark Coleman, Phillipe Nover and Tim Hague also were cut from the UFC after posting losses at last Saturday's event.

Not that big of a loss. I like Frank Trigg but two straight KOs in rd. 1 proves he is past his best days in MMA. But I still see him having a good run on smaller shows. Maybe he can go to strikeforce and have a war with Nick Diaz...

Not surprised at all, he's had two big losses to kos & Serra. No way he was going to rebound from that.
For me the surprise was Coleman. He beat Bonnar. he hung in there with Shogun making it competitive although I accept that may have been moe to do with Shogun's bad conditioning. Fair enough he looked terrible against Couture. However I was convinced they would keep him on for a future fight with Tito at least.

It's a shame to see someone lose their gig, but it's not that surprising. If there's a place in MMA for Trigg, it's obviously not in the UFC.

Not a surprise to me at all, not sad to see him go either. I'm thinking Strikeforce may or may not pick him up, if they don't I can see him as a sacrificial lamb in DREAM.

I always hated him being cocky losing to Hughes twice after kicking him in the nuts

Got nothin' to do with the topic, but damn true Actually, Trigg was cut following his second straight loss in the Octagon to none other than Matt Serra. So, in a way, his response was still on-topic. Also, I must agree with you both. Matt Serra is indeed beastly.
