Seriously, that Dusty doesn't look better than any of the Jakks Dusty's. If you go for the polka dot look (an abomination, by the way), then Jakks is better. That scan looks like a developmentally disabled monster.
I wish people would quit the Jakks/Mattel line-in-the-sand crap. Both companies have their strengths and weaknesses. Here, you can see Mattel really hammers home the detail, but their head scans aren't the best, and the more normal proportions of their figures don't work for everybody. The Road Warriors don't look realistic like that. They just don't. Great detail, though.
THANK YOU. Finally a reasonable take on Jakks vs. Mattel. I was beginning to think everyone had gone crazy, or I had.
This is just like Democrat vs Republican. Rather than actually listening and thinking, a lot of people just pick a side and blindly shout down anything the other side does, so they can feel good they are on the "Right" team.
If you really loved the Jakks figs and can't move on, I feel bad for ya, because Mattel is making some cool figs, though they're aren't flawless. Then again, Jakks never was, either.
