As reported earlier, TNA sent out a press release on Friday stating that Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan would be making a "major announcement" on Monday afternoon prior to the iMPACT! tapings. It is almost certain that TNA will be announcing that iMPACT! is moving to Monday nights in March.
Following the ratings success of January 4th's Monday night iMPACT! special, TNA and Spike have been working out a deal that would bring iMPACT! to Monday nights permanently. While there were serious of hang-ups during the negotiations, most of the major hurdles have been cleared.
No word on if they'll run from 8-10EST or 9-11 EST although there were rumors several weeks ago that TNA iMPACT! would run from 9-11pm (eastern), head-to-head with WWE RAW for two hours straight. The show will not be live each week at the beginning, but it's certainly an option down the road if the show is a success and the show generates more money. It appears right now that one week will be live and the following week will be taped on Tuesday. They would continue that rotation (one week live, one week taped) for the time being.
As for what qualifies as successful, it's believed that a 1.2-1.5 is what both sides are expecting. There is always the possibility that Spike moves the show back to Thursday nights in the event that the rating falls off significantly, but the network is said to be behind TNA and will give them some time to establish themselves on Monday nights

8-10 would be best for Tna IMO.

So they are expecting the same ratings. They have their core audience, but they need to expand beyond that. Keeping it the same or lower than you did against the WWE in the first place isn't a success. If they were being realistic, they'd aim lower, so I give them credit for aiming high.

War is defined as an active struggle between competing entities. There is no competition here. Its like The 700 Club claiming they are gonna run between 9pm and 11pm on Monday nights and claim they are at war with the WWE. They are not. They are not competition. TNA getting a 1.5 is not gonna do a damn thing. It will not cause channel surfing, at least not on a scale that would be considered warring.

Especially since the WWE didn't lose any viewers when TNA and them went head to head.

I don't understand how changing nights is suppose to make them get better ratings?
I mean why not just stay on Thursdays it is one of the best days for TV along with Monday..
They'll get crushed though and scurry off to Thursdays again..

Just a repost from the TNA board..
"What I don't understand is if they move to Monday nights, they aren't going to put a dent in WWE's rating. Just like 1/4. So whats the point in moving to Monday nights? Is there a reason?
You cant say to compete with WWE when they really aren't going to affect WWE's ratings. So I don't see what legit reason they have to moving to Monday nights."

While I think it's too early, hopefully it pushed TNA to produce great stuff. If they don't, fans will lose interest after a couple of weeks and go back to just watching WWE.

One sided fight to the death win for WWE. Being that RAW is the worst it's ever been, you've got a point. Like me myself, I know I'm going to be absolutely glued to the television when Jewel & her Forrest Gump like Husband hosts Raw in March. I'm gonna have to hold in my piss - cuz I'm not even gonna take a bathroom break for that.

When Impact was going to air on 1-4 everyone screamed they would get there lowest ratings ever, they ended up getting there highest ratings. TNA is the underdog obviously, doesn't mean they wont come out on top after a while

Lmao at everybody saying TNA didnt put a dent in WWE's rating on 1/4, Harts first appearance would have drawn much higher had Hogan not been on at the same time. Both audiences are wrestling fans and are going to channel surf depending on whats going on.

Maybe Bret just isn't a draw.

Something else TNA should consider to help them compete with RAW on Mondays is to leave Florida and go somewhere different each week.

I agree RAW is pretty much treading water and not very entertaining anymore, but even with their drivel most casual fans will either change the channel to something else altogether or just stop tuning in to see what WWE is doing. More than likely they won't switch to TNA on purpose. At least not until TNA has caught the attention of the mainstream a little more. And even if they do turn to TNA they had better be able to counter WWEs snooze show with something more inovative than Montreal rehashes and a semi mobile version of the nWo.

TNA is the underdog obviously, doesn't mean they wont come out on top after a while Just like above, things are not always as they seem. TNA will not consistantly draw that number and the bigger issue was whether or not they could draw some of the WWE audience....they did not.
