When I was going through career mode with my created fighter, I usually, after sparring, would focus the points between my striking offense/defense, and submission defense. If you up the submission defense, it gives you a much better chance at breaking the submission before tapping out.
Come to think of it, I don't think I've tapped out since I got it up pretty high.

picked this game up with some store credit at FYE over the weekend. Such a blast getting back into this game. I know everyone has their grips, and some prefer EA MMA over this, but I personally don't. After owning, beating, and eventually trading in each game, the striking of UFC is still enough to lure me back. Maybe I just wasn't "good" at EA, despite having little to no trouble on their hardest difficulty, but that's a moot point. To each their own. HOWEVER, since I last played, I decided to sit down and actually read the strategy guide I bought when the game came out. So it's like a brand new game to me, because of all the additional strikes and movements I learned about. Knocked someone out with Silva's front kick which was pretty ing sweet to watch back again. Finally got a hang of strikes when in the clinch, which was always a weakness. Haven't been tapped out cheaply yet, but mainly because I try not to let it go to the ground. And for the record, because I know this was a complaint of others and myself, I've only had 3 one round fights. For some reason, maybe because I have more to do, I want to do more, but my fights really aren't that quick anymore. Then again, I find myself not swinging for the fences anymore, and timing strikes so maybe that's it.

I played this for awhile yesterday but just couldn't get into it much. I love the roster, graphics, and presentation compared to EA.
I've never had any fights that make it past the 2nd round with the majority of mine ending early.
Really the submission system has soured me on this game because I do like taking fights to the ground but the way it is I'm avoiding it which takes away a huge part of how fights really happen..
