Hi Guys, this is my last post on the matter. I am going to post this on both the Jakks and Mattel boards, if this annoys you, I apologise. But there are some ridiculous posts on here at the moment. Some bashing Jakks, some bashing Mattel, some praising both companies. The fact is, we have never had it so good. We have two companies both producing pretty good figures of the superstars that we love. If you want to know how good Jakks is, look at the post from hitman23 - wfigs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wrestlingfigs&action=display&thread=166616Now tell me that didn't make you smile with happy memories. Lets look forward to Legends of the Ring. Mattel have shown us some great images of the Legends line. I for one can't wait for those to hit retail. For the first time we are in a position where we are going to get good figures of every superstar you can think of. Mattel can make anyone affiliated with WWE, Jakks can make anyone affiliated with TNA and NWA. Also, Jakks can make anyone that is on bad terms with WWE. This really is the best of both worlds. I agree, Mattel has won the battle, but this is going to be a long war and we are going to be the lucky ones who can't lose. Enjoy collecting peeps.

I fully agree with you. We are seeing better figures than any other time.
The present reminds me a lot of the late 90's when we had 3 lines of figures. At the time we thought those were good looking figures. But, they pale in comparison in terms of detail to today's lines.
It's a good time to be a collector.

I couldnt agree more. A great time to be a wrestling collector. However I think the arguments arise out of who has made the better looking figures. I was never high on Jakks Figures, but at the time that;s all we had. Toy biz absolutely took a dump on the business twice (WCW/TNA), so all that was left was RA/DA. It really comes down to personal preference. I'll be forever using Jakks accesories and other thing sthat they've provided me, but as of now my preference is Mattel. I just like how they are sculpted. Both companies have their strengths and weaknesses. It would be refreshing to see Jakks make some newer sculpts, but from a financial standpoint, the choice at this time is understandable.

100% agree my friend....first of all,not even sure why there's a "war" in the first place...some people think Jakks is/was better...some think Mattel is better...fine...everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and said opinions should be respected, even if not agreed with...
i myself have figures from both...Mattel got me into collecting the current WWE roster, but i still love my Jakks CS collection, and will add figures to is if Jakks makes them (classic Sting,Macho Man,Classic Kurt Angle,etc.)...

Great time to be a collector period...... My thoughts exactly. Its rare that such a time like this comes around not only having a new company taking the wwe license but another taking the next biggest license and having two strong wrestling figure brands running. Its a rare situation but an exciting time to be a collector.

I am so glad someone gets it. We will have such an all inclusive wrestling universe in the next few months thanks to Mattel,Jakks, and let's not forget Playmates with AAA. This is the best time to be a collector as has been pointed out. Mattel didn't win.... Jakks didn't win.....WE did!

this is truly the best age to be a wrestling figure collector. when i first got into collecting as a kid, as far as WWF went we only had Hasbros. they were fun, cool little figures and i still love them, but i mean they had almost no accesories, only one title belt, no managers or announcer figures....and of course the action features and in some cases almost no playability(snuka, kamala etc...) plus cartoony features. nowadays you have just about anything you could ask for. real scan, real scale rings, belts, playsets etc....we've really never had it better. i think if they had stuff like this when i was younger i would have had a breakdown trying to get all of it lol....

Recently, I've been thinking about the current Wrestling Figure World condition and I honestly can say that it's almost like the Monday Night Wars...just with figures.[/b][/color]
We are pretty lucky being that now we have two wrestling figure makers who will want to top each other or rather make the better figure than their completion...resulting in better figures for us!

there was a period like this,sorta,once before...1995 - 2000 ....
we had Jakks making WWF figures in 1996 , San Francisco Toymakers making WCW stuff (which, honestly, were sh*t ) in 1995,then Toy Biz took over the WCW licence ,and SFT aquired the ECW licence in 1999...
in 1999 and 2000 , all 3 federations were represented on the toy pegs...

This will be the next bi-partisan era of wrestling figures! Yeah, good luck with that.
