At my local WalMart, I went to pick up a prescription and made a quick turn to cruise the toys.....(this is one of those WalMarts which never has current products....you know the kind)
Anyway-at the end of the isle, I look up and notice there is more figures hanging than the last time I was there.....then getting closer, I notice these are Series 3 figs! Orton, Jericho, Khali, Benjamin, Mickie James & Taker....they were all there, no 1/1000-but cool to see them up close so soon.
I decide to get the Orton (since I didn't get the Elite 2 Orton) and upon check out....I am told "This item has been recalled"....my response was: "It can't be, its not even out yet!".
The bottom line is they would NOT sell it to me, so left-went home called Mattel, who told me they are familar w/the problem and it is an in-house, WalMart problem with Lot Number assignment.
I called the WalMart back and spoke to an Asst. Manager, who promised to "check into it" which means....they have no clue and could probably careless.
-Hope you have better luck with them....
-Peace Out, -Wagdaddy

They (WalMart) did the same thing with one of the Series 2 2-Packs (Morrison/Miz) and they corrected it a couple days later.

Sorry to hear that, mate. Considering you've seen basic orton, could you tell me what the tatoo work was like? Was it as detailed as the elite with the different shading for his old and new tatoos ? Any info would be great!

That sucks. WTF is up with Wal-Mart and these stupid "recall" things? They can't ever seem to get these numbers right or whatever... I mean it's a pain in the ass to us collectors.

I just picked up half the set today, I had no problems. A guy yesterday who reported what store in my area had them said they wouldn't let him get Orton.

WalMart has stupid scanners. I believe that they just have careless employees.

I heard it was just the Orton and not the others.

The way WalMart is going here I wonder which Series 3 2-Pack and which Series 4 figure they will have this problem with.

That is the worst luck ever. Can't believe that is still happening to people.

if anyone has this problem one way around it is to go to the self checkout and scan another figure then place the orton in the bag that way they can't refuse to sell it to you.

That really sucks. If I saw a 1/1000 or Mickie I would have hid that sh*t real good!

That's when you just rip the package up and bring it up asking for a discount on it. You should have brought a basic sticker off the pegs.

maybe a manager or employee puts that status in the system when they don't want them to sell before they get to them or can set them aside.
if they come in and get put out before they work a shift, that would help that problem.
probably a long shot, but, i've spent a lot of time thinking about concepts in databases
