- Hopefully Hogan doesn’t win the belt here. - Interesting segment with Nash, but I must say I don’t like back to back in ring promos. I know this is realistic in WCW around this time, but not a fan of that. - A rather weak opening contest. - Inferno losing is fine, but I’d assume there is more to do with Inferno than there is with Nagata. - It would great for Raven to retain the championship. - Goldberg dominating is fine, but I hope he loses a match sooner than he actually did. - That was a odd segment with Benoit and Booker. Didn’t feel right at all, really. - Bulldog winning is fine, I guess. - Decent segment with Jericho, I hope he is elevated out of the Cruiserweight division at some point. - Not really interested in the next two matches. - Page/Hennig will be a fine feud, again. - Sucks to see Raven losing the championship so soon, but oh well. - Solid win for Norton. If this leads to a push for Norton that works for me. - Glad to see Savage retaining the belt over Hogan even if it was a no contest finish. Hart joining the New World Order is something I am not a fan of.

ON MONDAY NITRO... A video shows us the ending to this past Monday’s edition of Nitro, where Bret Hart joined the nWo by attacking Kevin Nash and Randy Savage with a steel chair, aiding Hollywood Hogan after unsuccessfully challenging for Savage’s World Heavyweight Title.
-INTRO VIDEO-
Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan and Lee Marshall welcome us to TBS for WCW Thunder! This 2-hour action packed edition of Thunder will feature some of your favourite WCW and nWo stars, including The Giant, Buff Bagwell, Rick Steiner, and an epic main event as Sting takes on Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart!
Hollywood Hogan, Eric Bischoff and The Disciple open the show by coming down to the ring, all smiles as Hogan takes a microphone and begins to speak. He calls the fans, Randy Savage and Kevin Nash idiots for not anticipating Bret Hart’s defection to the nWo. After all, Hart is one of the top stars in professional wrestling, it’s only right that he should ride alongside the new World order! Hogan says that Nitro wasn’t a complete success, however, as Savage still has his WCW World Title. Hogan makes a threat to Savage, claiming that he’ll live in misery until Hogan has banished him from WCW and rightfully taken back his title/

Rey Misterio Jr. defeats Prince Iaukea. (5:31) This crowd loves Misterio. Every spot that comes off in his favour and they eat it up. Iaukea has a good showing too, however, Misterio proves to be just that little bit better. Misterio reverses a Powerbomb attempt into a Hurricana-roll-up combination, allowing him to pick up the victory.
Fit Finley defeats Wayne Bloom. (3:12) A few boring chants to get us started, but the fans soon perk up when Finley executes some stiff shots to Bloom. He seals the win with a hard Tombstone Piledriver into the mat. Not much to this one.

ON MONDAY NITRO... We see the finish to Scott Norton vs. Lex Luger, in which Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton and Brian Adams confirmed their allignment with the nWo.
Buff Bagwell (w/ Vincent) defeats Rick Steiner. (6:01) We see that Bagwell has truly pledged his allegience to Hollywood Hogan and the nWo as he comes out fully clad in nWo gear, dancing to the nWo theme song. Steiner gets the crowd going with some barking sounds, and we have a great fight on our hands. Bagwell misses the Buff Blockbuster, and Steiner sets him up for the Bulldog. However, Scott Steiner comes running down the aisle with a steel pipe in hand, and is quickly noticed by Vincent, who promptly grabs the referee’s attention. With the opportunity open, Scott hits his brother in the back of the head with the pipe and drags Bagwell over him for the win. Post-match, pipe still in hand, Scott looks to continue to beating, that is, until Lex Luger comes storming down to the ring and nails Steiner with some hard right hands. The nWo bails, leaving Luger to tend to Rick Steiner in the ring.
We see a backstage shot of Eddie Guerrero and his nephew, Chavo Jr. Eddie tells him that he needs to start listening to him and doing as he tells him to do. He asks Chavo whether he understands, but he is ignored. Eddie grabs him by the throat and repeats the question, to which Chavo relunctantly nods.

Scott Hall is lounging in his dressing room when Kevin Nash enters. The Outsiders are the World Tag Team Champions, but seem dividing considering Nash has now left the nWo. Nash asks Hall why he’s still linked to Hogan. Hall claims he isn’t and tells Nash not to worry. He’s with Nash, The Outsiders, ‘4 lyfe’.
The Giant defeats Glacier. (3:49) WCW is certainly not home to any jolly giants. This is a total massacre. Glacier doesn’t seem to realise that he is not affecting The Giant with any of his moves. The Giant tosses him around the ring for a while, before putting him out of his misery with a Chokeslam.

CHAMPION Ozeki defeats Jim Duggan. (4:24) This is the debut of CHAMPION Ozeki, most recognisable as former WWF Champion Yokozuna. They’ve battled in the past, but this makes it seem like Duggan has never set eyes on Ozeki, as he completely fails to garner any offence on the near 700lbs monster. Eventually, after a devasting kick to the throat from Ozeki, Duggan is grounded. One Leg Drop later, and it’s all over. Schiavone tells us he calls it ‘Falling Sun’, as opposed to ‘Rising’. After the match, Sonny Onoo and Yugi Nagata make an appearance, and begin assaulting Duggan with a Japanese flag, before draping it over him and leading Ozeki to the locker room area.
Tony Schiavone heads to the ring where he introduces WCW World Heavyweight Champion Randy Savage. He comes down, belt draped over his shoulder, and he’s not happy. He cuts off Schiavone as he begins to ask questions, and tells him to leave the ring. Savage says he cannot believe Bret Hart would side with the nWo, he thought he was better than that. Obviously, Hart is just another pirate. He tells him that his true colour is yellow, not pink or black. He’s a disgrace to everything he says he stands for. He tells Hart that he will deal with him, face to face, not behind his back. Savage finishes by calling Hart ‘the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.. when it comes to lying’. Macho moves on to Hollywood Hogan, and tells him that he is far from finishing with him too. The Heavyweight Champion challenges Hogan to come and get his belt, at Slamboree. If he can’t beat him for the title there and then, he will not get another shot at Savage. OHHHHHH YEAHHHH!
Alex Wright makes his sudden return to WCW, dancing around the ring like a lunatic. WCW World Television Champion Booker T makes his way out, and attacks Wright as he dances in his face. We have a match..
Booker T defeats Alex Wright. (5:57) It seems Booker isn’t too impressed with Wright’s dancing skills. However, the crowd could not stop laughing. Poor Alex though, he looks the fool. Booker makes sure he takes his fool status back to the dressing room with him as he takes him out fairly easily with a Harlem Sidekick, following by a Missile Dropkick.
Schiavone, Heenan and Marshall discuss the recent inner-turmoil in the nWo, and show us various clips from this week’s Spring Stampede event and this week’s edition of Monday Nitro. Both Kevin Nash and Randy Savage quit the nWo on live TV. Hollywood Hogan is pursuing the WCW World Title wrapped around Savage’s waist, and Bret Hart has alligned himself with Hogan. Where is all this heading?

ON MONDAY NITRO... A video shows us the ending to this past Monday’s edition of Nitro, where Bret Hart joined the nWo by attacking Kevin Nash and Randy Savage with a steel chair, aiding Hollywood Hogan after unsuccessfully challenging for Savage’s World Heavyweight Title.
Sting defeats Bret Hart. (9:01) A blockbuster (thank you, Mr. Bagwell) main event for this week’s edition of Thunder. These two have had their differences in the past, but they have also co-existed against the nWo. Now, Hart is a fully fledged member it seems. Hart has a very new, cock, and brash attitude, that ultimately leads to his downfall. He goes for the Sharpshooter, but he takes too long mocking the fans and Sting rolls him up for the win. After the match, Buff Bagwell, Brian Adams, Scott Steiner and Vincent come down and start attacking Sting. Hollywood Hogan and The Disciple aren’t far behind. However, the beat down comes to a halt when Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, Rick Steiner and WCW World Champion Randy Savage clear the nWo from the ring. Nash helps Sting up, but there seems to be some tension between Sting, Nash and Savage. After all, Nash did cost Sting the WCW World Title in his match against Savage on Sunday. Looking at the bigger picture, what’s going to happen this coming Monday on Nitro? Tune in, 8:05PM on TNT, to find out!

Thunder, I can't wait to see what you do with Yoko, or CHAMPION Ozeki as he is epically named. Sting versus Bret Hart should be great, too. I see Hogan getting the World Title sometime soon. I'm glad that Misterio wins, I would like to see him pushed sometime soon. As you rightfully wrote, can't see much in this one, but it gets Fit Finley over. I am pleased to see Bagwell go over here, but also pleased to see Luger and Steiner stand tall to finish the match. I like Eddie as the forceful Uncle character. So Hall is out of the nWo now as well? Not looking good for the 'Order. Rofl @ Glacier, glad The Giant gets the victory, pretty obvious actually. Woo, Ozeki in the house! Obvious victory for him, and I love the addition of Onoo and Nagata as his allies. The draping of the flag was a nice touch, also. A Last Chance match between Hogan and Savage would be great. I laughed at Alex Wright's random return, followed by a loss to Booker T, haha. A roll up finish? Wasn't expecting that. I like the save made by Nash and Co., along with the tension between them. Great Thunder, bring back more and more memories each show. I hope to see Ozeki pushed soon.

WCW Thursday Thunder: Thursday 23rd April 1998...A nice promo to kick things off on Thunder, with Hollywood Hogan and Eric Bischoff (The Disciple has no purpose other than being Hogan's groupee) addressing Hogan's loss to Randy Savage on Monday Nitro. Not abad promo, I liked Hogan threatening Savage that he'd live in misery. Very nice reference to Hogan's allegated comments on Savage there. Looking forward to another match between these two at Great American Bash - please hold off from Slamboree. Rey Misterio Jr hopefully gets a push soon, great cruiserweight action to kick off in the ring, Misterio overcoming Prince Iaukea. Next, Fit Finley beating Wayne Bloom is fine, can expect that nobody would care and the match sounds pretty iffy. Not fond of it being three minutes, with Wayne being slightly larger than Finley, I can't see it going just three minutes. Buff Bagwell and Rick Steiner would have had a great first hour main event, but I think that the bout should have gone like two more minutes. Bagwell and Steiner had a good feud going on, where Bagwell was paralyzed by Steiner am I right? Lex Luger and Scott Steiner getting involved was pretty sly and smooth. Poor Glacier, he barely ever lost back here. The Giant overcoming Glacier is fine. Maybe went a little too long this time. CHAMPION Ozeki, also known as Yokozuna in WCW is great, but I am unsure about him being here in 1998, when he had become a 600+ pound of whale blob. He was a great big man wrestler, just am unsure about him being here in his condition. So hopefully he doesn't get too massive a push. Good win over Jim Duggan, though. Randy Savage's promo was very sweet and hmm, another match at Slamboree between Savage and Hogan would be very good, but what would be left for WCW Big Four-esque event, Great American Bash? Hmm. Booker T beating Alex Wright is fine, didn't care for Wright ever, though. Lastly, a big main event for Thunder, they still had reasonably strong main events back here. Hopefully Bret Hart and Sting regains massive importance in WCW, though. Great main event with all the interference, a great show overall, I see you're trying to keep Thunder strong with giving strong main events.

-Good opening promo -Misterio winning is the right call, hope he gets a push soon -Don't care for Finlay/Bloom at all -Bagwell winning is good and I liked Scott Steiner & Luger's involvement -Like the Chavo/Eddie confrontations -Giant squashing Glacier is what I like to see -Interesting idea to bring in Ozeki, also not sure how much he could've wrestled in 1998 but still -Savage calling Hart yellow was good and Savage/Hogan at Slamboree is the right decision -Booker winning was good, was hoping for something with Benoit though -Sting winning with a roll up was great and the post match stuff was good. I like the tension between Sting/Savage/Nash
Very good Thunder, a few things I didn't like but good for the most part.

27/04/1998 | Norfolk, VA
Tonight on Monday Nitro, nWo President Eric Bischoff has promised to explain the recent actions of Bret Hart more clearly. Many will be wondering whether Hart will put in an appearance himself. What will his Slamboree opponent Kevin Nash have to say himself?
We know Hollywood Hogan and WCW World Heavyweight Champion 'Macho Man' Randy Savage are both in the arena tonight. Can we expect Hogan to reply to Savage's challenge from Thunder?
Monday Nitro is live tonight, 8:05PM on TNT.

MONDAY NITRO 27/04/1998 | Norfolk, VALAST WEEK... A video recaps the main event from last week’s edition of Nitro, featuring Randy Savage vs. Hollywood Hogan for the WCW World Title, and the Thunder main event feautring Sting vs. Bret Hart. - INTRO VIDEO –We join Tony Schiavone, Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan and Larry Zbyszko at the announcer’s booth for tonight’s 3-hour Monday Nitro telecast. The discuss the recent goings on between the nWo and the stars that have broken away, plus the circumstances surrounding the WCW World Championship currently held by Randy Savage. Savage, Hollywood Hogan, the nWo, The Giant, Diamond Dallas Page, among others, are in the arena tonight. The Nitro Girls perform for us on the stage as the announcer’s continue to discuss tonight’s event. We hear the music of the nWo to begin the show, which is met with a few boos and jeers from the crowd. However, they’re soon cheering when they see Kevin Nash and WCW World Champion Randy Savage emerge from behind the curtain. They head to the ring, where Savage takes a microphone. Savage begins by throwing around his catchphrases as he reissues the challenge he made to Hogan on Thunder. Hogan gets one more chance at Savage and at the title, and it’s the last he’ll get if he doesn’t win. Nash takes the microphone. He says that people may be wondering why they came out to the nWo’s music, when last week they quit the group. Big Sexy reveals that plain and simply, they’re nWo through and through, but they’re not Hogan-lackeys. Nash removes his shirt to reveal a red shirt depicting a wolf. He says they’re the Wolfpac, and invite anyone who doesn’t want to be a Hogan-lackey to join them. Nash makes a personal invitation to Scott Hall to join them. After a brief moment, Hall comes to the ring. Nash asks him to join the Wolfpac, and the crowd encourage him. Hall finally rips up the nWo shirt he has on and dons the colours of the Wolfpac. -COMMERCIAL-Curt Hennig (w/ Rick Rude) defeats The Renegade. (5:02)Hennig comes out with Rude proudly displaying the nWo colours. Despite being bigger in size, Renegade does not have enough to beat the wiley veteran Hennig, who takes advantage after a missed Renegade Splash, and nails a beautiful Hennig-Plex for the win. Hugh Morrus (w/ Jimmy Hart) defeats Greg Valentine. (5:45)Valentine looks good here. He makes Morrus look stupid in some places, using his vast knowledge of the ring and various holds. Jimmy Hart, Valentine’s former manager, jumps up onto the apron and distracts Valentine. This gives Morrus the opportunity the hit the No Joke Swinging Neckbreaker. He makes the cover and picks up the victory. -COMMERCIAL-Chris Benoit heads out to the ring, taking a microphone. He says he’s gonna be blunt and get straight to the point. He’s not done with Booker T, and he wants another shot at the Television Championship. Booker T heads to the ring, bringing down the belt that they both want to hold. Booker says that Benoit had his chance, he couldn’t beat Booker T for the title, and that’s that. Therefore, in the champion’s mind, Benoit is at the bottom of the pecking order, the bottom of the pile. J.J. Dillon comes down just as a fight is immiment. He says that while he’d love to give Benoit a title shot, Booker is right. Benoit had his chance and lost. However, that doesn’t excuse Booker from defending the title, something he’ll do against the new #1 Contender tonight! Backstage, we see Gene Okerlund trying to get a word from former United States Heavyweight Champion regarding a possible rematch for the title he lost to Goldberg last week. Raven simply walks by, and tells Okerlund to leave him alone. - COMMERCIAL (the following has been paid for by the new World order) | ORDER YOUR EXCLUSIVE nWo T-SHIRT. CALL 1-800-NWO-8661 OR SEND $5.95 S/H TO: WCW MERCHANDISE, P.O. BOX 30678, TAMPA, FL, 33630-0678. - The Giant defeats Kidman (w/ Scotty Riggs). (1:34)C’mon, what do you expect when you put Kidman against the freakin’ Giant? This one was over with Giant putting in very little effort. His signature Chokeslam finishes off The Flock’s smallest member. As he celebrates his victory, Scott Norton, Brian Adams and Vincent jump The Giant with steel chairs. Knowing they can’t keep him down for long, they run for the hills. The Nitro Girls perform for us during a brief intermission. Ultimo Dragon defeats Super Calo. (6:17)We’re treated to a very early, entertaining cruiserweight match here. Calo and Dragon trade some amazing arm-drags, and after some back and forth action, Dragon is down. Calo stalks Dragon and attempts a Headscissors Takedown. However, Dragon stops the takedown in mid-air, drags Calo back up and bounces him onto the top rope before planting him with a Sit-Out Powerbomb. It’s enough to gain the three-count for Dragon. Very soon after the bell, we see Eddie Guerrero lead his nephew, Chavo Jr., to the ringside area. He orders Chavo to get into the ring and take out Ultimo Dragon, but he clearly doesn’t want to. Chavo continues to refuse, causing Eddie to slap him across the face and head back to the locker room. The Nitro Girls perform for us during a brief intermission. ON THUNDER... We see a video of Randy Savage making a ‘last chance’ challenge to Hollywood Hogan for Slamboree. We hear the music of the nWo, this time it’s Hollywood Hogan’s version. Hogan, The Disciple and Eric Bischoff come out to the ring. Hogan is first on the mic, and he has some words for Randy Savage. He says Savage can keep coming out here and running his mouth about Hogan and the WCW World Title, but it doesn’t change the fact that it will always bare the mark of the nWo. Savage and Nash may be ‘nWo Wolfpac, but Hogan stands for something far greater – nWo Hollywood. Hogan accepts Savage’s challenge, promising to take back the title and make sure that Savage never walks again. He hands the microphone to Bischoff, who begins by saying that he has a quick announcement to make. Due to Scott Hall’s betrayal of the nWo earlier tonight, he and Kevin Nash are going to defend the WCW World Tag Team Titles against Buff Bagwell and Scott Steiner in our Nitro main event. But that’s not why he’s out here. He’s out here to address Bret Hart’s position in WCW, and the nWo. Bischoff claims Hart has a long-standing admiration for Hollywood Hogan, and has acknowledged to Bischoff himself that Hogan is the greatest professional wrestler in the world. Hart knows that the power lies with the nWo and Hogan, and he made the right choice by siding with them. Bischoff reveals that Hart is not present tonight, but knows he’s watching back in Calgary, and wants to personally invite him to Nitro next week for his induction into the nWo. -COMMERCIAL-We’re on the rampway with Gene Okerlund who welcomes us back to Nitro. He introduces Rick Steiner, who comes out and joins him. Okerlund asks Steiner how he’s dealing with his brother, Scott’s, defection to the nWo, and his actions as of late. Rick says that blood runs thicker than poison, he knows eventually Scott will regret his decisions, and if continues to burn bridges the way he is doing, then he won’t have anybody to turn to. Rick says he needs to deal with Scott because of what he’s done to him. He doesn’t want to, but it has to be done. EARLIER TONIGHT... We see a video showing us the altercation between Booker T and Chris Benoit earlier tonight. J.J. Dillon then announced that Booker T will defend the Television Championship tonight. Meng defeats Booker T to win the WCW WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP. (7:39)Booker fights hard and is close to a big win over the monstrous Meng. At several points the match could be won. Chris Benoit comes to ringside to observe the match. Booker, distracted by Benoit, misses a Missile Dropkick from the top rope. He becomes easy prey to the Tongan Death Grip. He passes out and subsequently loses the title to Meng. Chris Benoit walks back up the aisle laughing to himself, job done. - COMMERCIAL | WCW RELAPSE – THE NEWEST SHOW ON CABLE TELEVISION. CATCH ALL THE ACTION FROM THUNDER AND NITRO CONDENSED INTO TWO HOURS OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW, AND WHAT YOU DON’T! CATCH ALL YOUR FAVOURITE WCW/nWo SUPERSTARS SATURDAY NIGHT, 6:05 ON TBS! - Chris Jericho and La Parka defeat Rey Misterio Jr. and Juventud Guerrera. (6:12)Misterio and Jericho start us off with reversal after reversal after various holds learnt from their time travelling across the globe, honing their skills. Jericho, the WCW Cruiserweight Champion, tags out as soon as Juvi comes in. He does everything possible in order to avoid Juvi. The finish saw Jericho make a blind tag when La Parka comes off the ropes. Juvi hits a Back Heel Kick when Jericho rushes in and rolls up Juvi to seal the win. Jericho walks back to the locker room mocking Juvi, yelling about how he proved Juvi is weak and how he is the greatest in the world. A video package airs for Sting. It highlights various points in his career, including memorable matches against Ric Flair, The Great Muta, Vader, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. -COMMERCIAL- Diamond Dallas Page defeats Van Hammer (w/ Scotty Riggs and Reese). (3:51)Page looks strong, hitting Hammer with right hands consistently. Reese and Riggs try to interupt but both take Diamond Cutters, sending the crowd to their feet. Page signals for another Diamond Cutter, but turns into a Diving Clothesline from Hammer. He sets Page up for a Cobra Clutch Slam, but he turns it into a Diamond Cutter! Page covers and beats Van Hammer. The Nitro Girls perform for us during a brief intermission. ON THUNDER... We see the dominant debut of CHAMPION Ozeki on Thunder, where he crushed Jim Duggan. CHAMPION Ozeki (w/ Sonny Onoo and Yugi Nagata) defeats Chris Adams. (1:48)Adams tries to make use of his judo background in order to take down Ozeki. He tries to be the first to stop Ozeki before he’s even took off in WCW. However, it’s just not meant to be. Ozeki flattens Adams with a horrible Belly-to-Belly Suplex, and finishes off Adams with a Leg Drop. Post-match, Sonny Onoo takes a mic and introduces CHAMPION Ozeki as his newest client. He says he is bringing the finest stars of the orient to WCW. More will join Ozeki and Nagata, very, very soon.. - COMMERCIAL | SLAMBOREE ’98 – LIVE MAY 17 FROM FROM THE CENTRUM IN WORCESTER, MA. TO ORDER, CALL YOUR LOCAL CABLE COMPANY OR PAY-PER-VIEW PROVIDER. FOR MORE INFORMATION, LOG ONTO WCW.COM. – We cut to the announcer’s booth with Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan and Larry Zbyszko. The three begin talking about the feud between Hollywood Hogan and Randy Savage over the WCW World Championship, and the split of the nWo. We now know that Savage and Hogan will meet one last time at Slamboree with the World Title on the line. Goldberg defeats Horshu. (1:01)Not much of an opponent here. Goldberg runs through Horshu like he’s nothing. He may look intimidating, but Goldberg certainly casts doubt upon that thought. Horshu taunts Goldberg, who simply replies with a bone-crunching Spear. The crowd roar as Goldberg prepares to annihilate this near 300lbs beast with the Jackhammer. He picks Horshu up swiftly, and drops him so hard it feels like the arena is about to collapse. Goldberg is victorious, and moves the streak up to 78-0. - COMMERCIAL | ORDER YOUR EXCLUSIVE GOLDBERG ‘WHO’S NEXT?’ T-SHIRT. CALL 1-800-WCW-8661 OR SEND $20.00 AND $5.95 S/H TO: WCW MERCHANDISE, P.O. BOX 30678, TAMPA, FL, 33630-0678. – EARLIER TONIGHT... We see a video recapping Scott Hall joining up with Kevin Nash as part of the new Wolfpac stable. Eric Bischoff then announced that Hall and Nash will make a WCW World Tag Team Title defense tonight. Buff Bagwell and Scott Steiner defeat Scott Hall and Kevin Nash to win the WCW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP. (9:46)Our second title match tonight, our second title change. Bagwell and Steiner look strong and work well as a team. Hall and Nash look like they’re gonna take this one. But, as Nash is about to floor Bagwell with the Jacknife, Hall hits him with a Low-Blow. Hall turns on Nash! Steiner tags in and nails Nash with a Double Underhook Powerbomb, allowing him to pin Nash and bring the titles back to the nWo. Hall celebrates with Steiner and Bagwell. He never intended to leave the nWo. An attack looks imminent, but Sting descends from the rafters. He points a baseball bat towards the nWo, protecting Nash. They back away, leaving with the World Tag Team Titles. Nash looks up to see Sting has helped him. What does this mean for Sting and Nash? That’s all for tonight. Tune in for more WCW action this Thursday as Thunder airs, 8:05 on TBS! © 1998 World Championship Wrestling, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Nitro, the opening segment is great. The return of the nWo Wolfpac! Hennig victory was expected, tbh. Pleased to see Hugh Morrus over Greg Valentine. The Benoit/Booker segment was good, and I'm fine with Benoit moving away from the Television title picture. Pleased to see The Giant with the victory. I like the nWo interference, only to have them run away. It pleased me to see Ultimo Dragon win here. I like the Eddi/Chavo stuff that you have going, I look forward to a match between the two. Good nWo segment, Hollywood Hogan versus Randy Savage should be good for Slamboree. I like that Bret Hart will be here next week for his nWo 'induction', and a good Main Event made, but I see the Outsiders retaining. Shocked to see Meng win the TV Title. I'm pleased to see Chris Jericho and La Parka go over here, I can imagine Jericho mocking Juvi. DDP victory was expected here. Very happy to see CHAMPION Ozeki win this match, I hope you keep him dominating guys for a while before eventually moving him into a feud. Obvious destruction of Horshu for Goldberg, wasn't expecting anything else. Wasn't expecting new Tag Team Champions, but it's good to see the nWo taking control, as well as seeing Scott Hall pretend to leave the nWo, only to help them win. Sting for the save is great, good way to end the show. Great Nitro.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter Reported by Dave Meltzer; 28/04/1998
Posters have been leaked for the upcoming WCW World Tour. This tour has been in the works since late last year. The company will shift operations to various locations (United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Japan, Mexico) around the globe in July, hosting various Nitro and Thunder broadcasts from these locations. The tour will conclude with the Bash at the Beach pay-per-view which will take place in a specially constructed arena on Surfer's Paradise Beach in Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia. Tickets for Nitro and Thunder are sold-out.
There are calls within the company to bring back Ric Flair. However, after his very public dispute with Eric Bischoff, it's unlikely we'll be seeing Flair any time soon.
An inside source has claimed there are no plans to end Goldberg's winning streak at the moment.
The same source has also said there are pushes in store for Diamond Dallas Page, Raven, Chris Benoit and Konnan, to name a few.
Road Warrior Animal has claimed in a radio interview that Eric Bischoff has made a personal approach for The Legion of Doom to jump to WCW, something he has said that will not be happening.
Goldberg, Rick Steiner, Lex Luger and The Giant will be making an appearance to sign autographs and greet fans in Norwood, OH ahead of the Brian Pillman Memorial event.

WCW Monday Nitro: Monday 27th April 1998...Nice to see the New World Order kick off Nitro tonight, with Kevin Nash and Randy Savage in the ring. I did like that Savage mainly controlled the promo, as this is correct with Savage being the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Nash inviting Scott Hall out is nice, but hmm, I feel that WCW would opportunise on Hall either going to the Wolfpack or Black and White by stretching the storyline. I believe that Hall will swerve on Nash somewhere down the line leading to a match at the Great American Bash. Curt Hennig beating The Renegade is fine, didn't do too much other than to get the nWo Black and White Hennig and Rick Rude over. I thought that Renegade had been done with the company by this point, but obviously not. Hugh Morrus I really do like. Hopefully he is respected. His win against Greg Valentine is fine, as Valentine still looked credible, but these matches have been slightly lacklustre so far. Chris Benoit has been getting some air time lately, however maybe too much; Benoit wasn't so charismatic here. Hopefully it translates into matches soon enough. This feud with Booker T and Benoit is heating up though. Poor Kidman, not so fond of The Flock simply being annihilated by The Giant. I can't see Scott Norton, Brian Adams and Vincent in the ring with steel chairs, three on one cowering away. I'd have preferred seeing Giant lay them all out. Ultumo Dragón! An amazing specimen, and hopefully he isn't done getting a hold of the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship. Good win over Super Calo tonight, anyways. Hollywood Hogan and the Black and White declaring war on the Wolfpack is sweet, and the fact that Bret Hart is in their alliance is great. Wow, the return of the WCW World Tag Team Championships tonight with The Outsiders against Buff Bagwell and Scott Steiner should be great. Hmm, hate Meng winning the WCW World Television Champion, he just doesn't fit the fighting champion mold that the belt has. And had with Booker T. Chris Benoit and Booker's feud can elevate higher than this lowdown the card status, though. I just dislike seeing Benoit cost Booker a match; it's uncharacteristic to me. Haha, Chris Jericho would mock La Parka. Great win for Jericho and Parka over Rey Misterio Jr and Juventud Guerrera, another feud with Juvi and Jericho wouldn't be too bad, but it was done at Superbrawl VIII. I'd dig a feud between Jericho and Misterio after Misterio's leg was injured at Souled Out in January. In fact...Misterio was out until July. He shouldn't be here, but I'll let it slide. Diamond Dallas Page beating Van Hammer is alright, I am liking DDP's tenacity against The Flock, definitely. If you ask me, it's too soon for CHAMPION Ozeki to be on Nitro. I'd prefer him on Thursday Thunder a few more weeks before Nitro appearances take place. Chris Adams didn't see what was coming. I see Ozeki taking out every non-American talent in the company, luchadores and foreigners beware. Ah Horshu, how useless a performer. Goldberg killed him easily. Nothing big. Lastly, great main event with Bagwell and Steiner winning the titles from Hall and Nash. Sting protecting Nash is interesting, but I'm more surprised at Hall remaining neutral. A great show overall.

Hmm, hate Meng winning the WCW World Television Champion, he just doesn't fit the fighting champion mold that the belt has. Have you seen Meng?! He was a tough, sadistic son of a bitch. If anything, he's more of a 'fighting' champion then either Benoit or Booker.

Hmm, he could be a very dominant champion; lots of squash matches I see for him. But like he was a different style of fighter than Booker and Benoit. Definitely improved in pure fighting. Hopefully you find the right credible challengers to the gold.
