Been playing the demo again and getting used to the controls. It's definitely grown on me more but I still have a bunch of issues with it. Still not sure if I want to get it.

When I force myself to I can have some really fun matches with the opponent AI. If the blind bull-rushing issue isn't solved by the time the game hits retail, hopefully the EA Servers allow for fast connecting, because I don't see a lot of people having long fights when 90% of the time you can rush your opponent, nail something, and TKO them.
With more play time I'm honestly thinking about buying this again. Once I got the controls down it's started to grow on me. I hope to hell the choke submission system was one of the things they improved over the demo, since it still feels clunky as hell.
I also am still not sure if I'm going to be getting it, but I'm leaning towards a purchase moreso now than when I first spent some time with the game.

I went 5 rounds the other night as Overeem against Lashley. Awesome fight.
I went 5 rounds ONCE in UFC 09 and 10. And I had to baby the fights from the 3rd round on and purposely not punch to the head, simply to go to decision. That bothers me.

I had to baby the fight to get to round Three on both the UFC games but on here I had to baby to get to round Two, I always rush him and Roundhouse Kick him so then he's done but still.

So after playing it some more, im loving the game. I dont see how anyone can like Undisputed over this. THe only problem i have with this game is i feel that they adapted they're controls more for online matches, hense the one button ground controls. Although it lacks complexity, i feel its way more simple and effective. UFC's ground game is so complex and cheap, that i feel it breaks the game. THis is why i think EA just went simple with it. I love the fact that your health actually recovers over time. In UFC, once you get rocked...your damage is at 80% and your ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ed. I HATED getting KO'D by the random ass weak jab. In EA mma, it looks as though you wont be left dissapointed in those kind of ways. And those worried about the spam takedowns, im sure those will be fixed when the game hits. Just imagine how fun this game will be playing against another user. Just get used to the controls and i guarantee this game will grow on you a lot. The graphics are better, the gameplay is smoother, the animations look great, and hitting those combos and getting the KO could never LOOK nor FEEL better. The highlight reels are gunna be great in this.

For anyone interested, the demo is now available for Xbox Live Silver users. Downloading it now, hope to get some time with it later today.

Those EA MMA cups that have Couture and Fedor on them are now available at all 7/11's.

I'm really torn about this game. I felt the demo looked great, but boy did they pick the wrong selection of fighters to demonstrate, considering how much people are skeptical about the takedowns/grappling.
I only had time to play 2 fights (I played as Overeem and then Mayhem), but they both spanned out the exact same way. All Lashley did was charge in for takedowns over and over and over again. On the other end, all Shields did was cover up and then clinch me up against the cage.
From a realistic standpoint, I can appreciate this. Lashley is a rookie fighter with heavy credentials in wrestling, and Sheilds isn't much of a striker. It's refreshing to see them resort to their bread and butter, instead of the AI making them attempt to fight like legit strikers. Still, it wasn't very fun to sit through. The Overeem/Lashley fight was only exciting because I managed to stun him out of nowhere and pull out the win after being dominated in the 3rd.
I still need to play it again as Lashley and Shields. That way I can better tell if the takedown stuff is a smart AI choice made by fighters who aren't great strikers, or if it's simply something EVERY CPU opponent does.
There's something about this game that I like. Something even about it that I want to love. There's a level of intrigue here that is kind of pulling me in, but I have an overwhelming sense that this is a game I should definitely buy on sale.

I have played the demo once in the past week or so, but it's been on purpose. I don't want to be too good at it by the time the real game comes out that it's no longer fun. Might delete the demo tonight in preparation for the release.

Honestly, the more I play the demo the more I'm loving this game. I've spent hours playing it already and have had ONE "flash" KO. Another plus is the way that fighters actually play to their indivudial strengths, like Lashley relying mostly on his wrestling takedowns to get the fight to the ground vs. Ubereem's advantage in the stand-up game due to his K-1 background.
In short: This is going to be a long week of waiting for the full game.

I'm definitely caving and getting this one on release. I've just had so much fun with it recently, and I think the demo is only a small fraction of the entire, massive game. I can't wait to tackle this game's career and online modes.

Hit it right on the head. The demo for the UFC games gives you basically what you get for the entire game. Same setup, different fighters. That and the tedious career mode.
In this game you get so much more than the demo. We are getting different rings and cages, different rules, a vastly different career mode, create-a-fighter sharing, and SO much more.

I'll say this right now, in the hands of creative users, EA MMA could have just as massive of a user-created community as Fire Pro Wrestling Returns. I can't even begin to imagine the kind of re-playability this game will have once people start posting UFC, PRIDE, and all other kinds of fighters up for download. And like you said, I can't wait to see how the different venues play out and how the different rules are utilized.

Might wait for Christmas to get this. Does look like a good game to play but I won't have enough money to but it on release day.

Anyone know if it would be possible to make use of the EA Sports Gameface option to put the real faces of fighters not in the game on CAWs?

And now I've officially ruled out not getting this game. Had a three-round championship fight, me as Shields against Mayhem on Legend difficulty.
Utterly insane fight, both of us were rocked several times, both of us dominated at points, it went all over the cage and in virtually every position. By the end we both were busted open and there was blood all over our faces, legs, and arms. I ended up tapping to a Rear Naked Choke.
If I'm able to have this much fun against the AI, I can't wait to go online. I actually think EA's game mechanics lends itself far less to douchebaggery than UFC 2010, and with the ability to play as the same person your opponent is playing with, I should be able to work around stuff like strong strike spamming with Overeem or takedown spamming with Lashley.
I now can't wait to get this game.
