Seriously, what kind of odds are you guys giving Dan Hardy going into this one?? He's got to be the BIGGEST underdog in history. I heard the odds are so big that if you were to put say $100 down on him and he wins, you could win $500 in return. That's how big of an underdog he is.
Personally, I don't think he has a snowball's chance in hell. But, this is the sport of MMA where ANYTHING can happen and any fighter can upset another fighter on any given night.
Hardy hasn't been in the wars that GSP has and hasn't fought the quality of opponents GSP has either. I mean, come on here. The only guys Hardy has beat in the UFC were Mike Swick and Marcus Davis.
In order to get a crack at GSP, I think he should've went through a few more guys than that. I would love to see if he can get by guys like Koscheck, Fitch, Hughes, and Alves. If he fought those guys and beat them like GSP has, then I would say he's definitely worthy of stepping in there with GSP.
But, as it stands right now, he's not. And GSP will school him. Just remember what Thiago Alves said in his pre-fight trash-talk. He said he was going to knock-out GSP and at no point during their entire 25-minute battle did Alves come ANYWHERE close to knocking out GSP. He got friggin' owned in that fight. And the very same will happen in this one.
GSP will treat Hardy like a rookie. He'll embarass him for the entire duration of the fight. I can't wait to see this one.
Is anyone on this forum actually picking Hardy to pull the BIGGEST upset of all-time??

I'm really not a fan of Frank Mir, but I hope he wins. Just so Mir can have his rubber match, and then shut the up about it.

Rory Markham weighed in 7lbs over the welterweight limit. Damn. Wow. At least put forth an effort... I hope you were being sarcastic because if that's an effort, then that's a friggin' joke. At any rate, tonight's fight should be awesome from start to finish and I for one, cannot wait. The last UFC fight card that I was THIS excited for was UFC #100 to see the re-match between Brock and Frank Mir and I watched that one at Boston Pizza with my buddies. And tonight, I think I will be doing the very same again. I got GSP winning his fight by utter domination, probably in the 2nd round. As for the Mir/Carwin fight, and knowing that the majority of Carwin's opponents only last about a minute with him, I don't think this one will see the 2nd round. If this one goes to the 2nd round, I will be extremely surprised. Someone is either getting KO'd or subbed for sure. And seeing this IS a title fight, does anyone think Carwin has the gas to go the distance?? I seriously have my doubts. If it does go the full 5 minutes of the 1st round, I think Carwin will be gassed heading into the 2nd round. If anyone can and will push Carwin to the limit, it's got to be Frank Mir. And if Mir gets Carwin to the ground which is VERY likely, then it's all over for him. Mir will snag an arm or a leg or a heel and take it home with him. There's no question, Frank Mir is deadly on the ground. His last fight with Kongo proved that point. So did his first fight with Lesnar. The Mir/Carwin fight is almost a toss-up. If it stays standing, then I'll go with Carwin. But if it goes to the ground, Mir all the friggin' way. I don't even think we've seen Carwin's ground-game, have we?? I mean, his fights have all been so short, we don't even know what his ground-game is like. For his sake, I hope it's good because he's taking on one of the best for sure. Anyway, I am VERY excited for tonight's show. I expect to see a dominating performance by GSP once again and fireworks between Mir & Carwin. It's only a few hours away!! I can't wait!!!

I heard the odds are so big that if you were to put say $100 down on him and he wins, you could win $500 in return. That's how big of an underdog he is. When Serra beat GSP he was an 8-1 underdog, or even greater. I obviously still think St.Pierre is going to win, but there has been bigger upsets. SO pumped for this show, girlfriend just got into town, taking her to the hockey game then the fights after.

I know everyone will think I'm insane but I'm going to say Dan Hardy wins tonight...
I don't know why I just think that at least two of the "unbeatable champions" are going to lose this year....
Carwin vs. Mir should be good. I think Mir has more ways of being able to win this one..but I still think Carwin will pull off the win.
Fitch vs. Saunders is pretty crazy. I think Saunders has the best muay thai in the UFC. I love watching him fight. I hope he takes this one. But I think Fitch will grind out a decision like he always does.
