With Jakks, it was like this as far as stocking: 1) TRU 2) Target 3) Wal-Mart
TRU is easy to call, they actually WANT to sell their product. They help you out. You give them an item number, they tell you if they have it or they will you when they'll get it. Easy stuff. They specialize in toys... not toasters, towels, and televisions....
Now, the Mattel pecking order is the absolute reverse making my LIFE hell trying to track down these figures (I love the 1/1000's which makes it even more difficult)... 1) Wal Mart 2) Target 3) Toys R Us
Unfortunately, with Wal-Mart on the top of the list.... they have the most unhelpful, unintelligent, and just uninformed people on this planet. This is really making collecting the Mattel's difficult (I know they will EVENTUALLY show up, but of course you want to get them when they are 'fresh' or the chase ones)....
I was at my local Wal-Mart last week.... was told that 24 Assorted Basics were on order, should be here Friday(today). I call today and they now tell me they have 0 on hand, 0 on order, and will not be getting any. Not knowing if this is true, I go down there.... nothing new and nobody can help.
Overall, checked 3 Wal-Mart's today- nothing. Called about 6 - don't think anybody knew what the hell I was talking about.
Bottom line - TRU needs to get back on top. They are the best place for figs, and need to be back where they were with JAKKS(as does RSC) ..
RSC must be hurting with Mattel considering Wal-Mart has everything out(you just dont know when and where) welllllll before them.
Agree? Disagree? Any pros to Wal-Mart being the top dawg thus far?

Considering I only collect Elite, I really dont care who gets them first. The only time I get anything that is not an Elite is when ever I find a 1/1000 which I have only found 2 so far... PPV 1 Austin and tonight I found a 1/1000 Shelton Benjamin (uploading pics as I type this)

Yeah, for Elites it really doesn't matter too much considering you know it'll be just a matte of time before everyone has them and they are easy to find.
But for those who collect the 1/1000's, it's difficult with Wal-Mart being the main provider. I know it's just a belt... and some critisize the 1/1000 collectors, but I dont do it to try and make a buck, its about collecting. And I know for damn sure if TRU were getting Basics before Wal Mart, things would be much smoothers.
Congrats on the Shelton find! I hope I can find a 1/1000 of him and Jericho once I finally find Series 3!

This has also irritated me. With Jakks TRU would have everything first and usually within a week after they were first found on here by somebody but with Mattel Wal-Mart is usually first to get them and they rarely ever stock and TRU has fallen way behind. Also it seems like nobody cares about the leftover Jakks at TRU that would fly off the shelves not too long ago but now LOD, HHH, and Koko are warming shelves when not too long ago they were going for $30+ on Ebay.

CHick at Walmart earlier today told me she "doesnt know how the sh*t works" when asking her about when they expect to get in new WWE Mattel. The people at Walmart truely have no f*cking idea what any of us are talking about. They all give me different answers. All I know is there are 12 basic style Mattel's on order, but they are not in transit. It has been this way for Id say about a month and a half.

One girl at Wal-Mart today told me they had 'no wrestling figures' and have do not carry them. lmao.... I just hung up, considering I had been in there 1 week ago and they had a bunch of leftover JAKKS, EGs, and Elite 2.

Unbeliveabe, Juice. What state are you in? I'm in FL and cant find S*IT! Did you have to grab the Jericho off ebay? Im in NC. I found that Jericho at that Walmart.. actually I found 2 1/1000 Jerichos, 2 1/1000 Edges, and 1 SCSA 1/1000 all at the same time at the same Walmart. But thats is all the figures they had. So Im assuming someone returned them there but bought that somewhere else or something. I go in there every single day as its about 2 minutes up the road. Those 2 Jerichos I bought are the only time I have ever seen basic 3.

Wal Mart's a joke. They never get anything in stock that's worth buying, and the idiots that work there could care less about anything. Toys R Us gets new figures in stock every once in a while. It's a hit and miss with them.

I have 3 WalMarts here that I hit regularly and have only seen any Basic styled figures at two of them. One store had Heritage one time and the other had Basic Series 2 once.

I was going to make a post similar to this today. I really wish Mattel's distribution would become more consistent. It seems like every retail store gets in different things and at different times. Why can I go to one store that carries Elite's and go 5-6 minutes to the next one and they never even got in Series 1? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
I don't understand how some people can find new stuff in more than one store and others like myself can't find them at all. I love the Mattel line I really do but it becomes so frustrating hunting down what I want. Going to store after store when I know new figures are out there and yet I can't find a single new thing.
As for Walmart yes they really do seem to not know anything. For example one of the stores here has had up the blue/red dot tags for weeks. I asked a worker the other day about them and he said "we have 12 of them (Basics) in stock but don't know where they are". WTF? Really? How do you just lose a whole case of figures?
Than I asked him about the Elites and he said "they should be in soon maybe 1-2 weeks". Yeah I'm sure since the same tags have been up for weeks and the whole section is empty!

You should feel lucky that you've even seen basic 3. There are two Wal Marts in my city and two more in the next closest and I've yet to see Basic 3 even once. So.. Yeah.

Maybe it's just you because my TRU is the place to get Mattel.
Target and Wal-Mart have crap.

places around here have been weird, the series 1 showed up at TRU here first, then Basic 2's showed up at Walmart 1st, 2packs 2 at Walmart, 2packs 3 at Target, and now i just found Basics 3 at Walmart.

I used to work at wal-mart and i would have people ask me when we were getting the next shipment of figures and i would go check and then tell them where as the other employees would go in the back stand there for 20 mins until the customer walks away.

Well, I do agree with Walmarts workers not giving a crap. But the only benefit to Walmart is I have at least 8 with in an hour drive.

I agree completely. Wal-Mart is and always has been garbage. TRU is so much better. Target can be hit or miss. Jakks had it right, Mattel is getting this all wrong.

I've had the same problem with Wally World...
All in all, I've made four separate trips to a Walmart the next town over from me, about a 40 minute drive, at the promise of freshly stocked cases. NOT ONCE HAVE THEY RESTOCKED, AND THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE JANUARY!!
As for my local Walmart, I've spoken to the manager personally and asked that they order more Mattel because our shelves have been empty for over a month, and each time I go the shelves are still bare and I'm told by the customer service associate that they should be on the next truck. UGH!!!
