I mean I saw hin running his mouth a lot and he used to be a skilled fighter. I remember him winning a rigged match against Lesnar, just because douche bag referee stopped Lesnar from finishing what he has started.
Then Lesnar put him to sleep.
Then he started running his mouth again, this time in a rather mentally unstable manner, saying something about Lesnar.
No Shane drops him.
I bet all of these are the consequences of running your mouth, where you should should just train and keep your mouth shut instead.
I never liked this guy's behavior and on top of that he has proven for the second time he is not a winner.
He should just retire and start some satirical column in some local newspaper where he will be spilling his insinuations for people of limited abstract thinking.

He's far too cocky for his own good and runs his mouth with all the trash-talk WAY too much. And I guess last night proved for certain that he's just not as good as he thinks he is. Even he couldn't get out of the first round with Shane Carwin. That is saying something right there.
I could see Mir's next fight being with either Cro-Cop or Gonzaga seeing as he hasn't fought either one as of yet.
Bottom line, Frank Mir will NEVER be UFC Heavyweight champion again and odds on, he'll never fight Brock Lesnar again either.
Face facts all you Brock haters, Frank Mir just isn't as good as Brock Lesnar. Last night proved it. He's just not in Brock's league anymore.
Brock is STILL the reigning UFC Heavyweight champion and Carwin is the Interim Heavyweight champ. Will Brock remain champ when they collide?? We won't know for sure until the fight happens and it's still many months away from happening.
It will be very interesting, that' for sure. As for Mir, he's out of title picture for now and sent back down in the rankings.

Just because he lost another fight does not mean he should retire. I know Brock is better than him and would destroy him just as Carwin would. But he is still young enough to compete and could still have some good fights in him. Your just a hater saying he should retire because you dont like him. So he talks a little trash. So what get over it everyone does at some point. GSP talked trash about Matt Hughes and Matt Serra but now that he is a champion he is the humblest guy on the earth no one even brings up the fact that he has talked trash in the past. Get over it. Mir shouldnt retire. He still has good fights left in him weather they are title fights or not. Im a fan of both Brock and Mir so I dont care if Mir gets smoked by Brock or if he never even faces Brock again. Im excited to see Brock vs Carwin! But people saying stuff about all of the Brock haters complaining that he lost to Brock is stupid is just as stupid as this guy saying Mir is no longer talented and should retire... IMO since they are both coming off losses put Big NOG and Mir back in it. Let them settle their rivalry. NOG was sick and out of it when he lost to Mir. Lets see how a healthy NOG brings it to Mir...
Side note... Another thing I just noticed is. Mir is younger than both Lesnar and Shane Carwin. So he may have ejust as much time left in him as they do...

Mir v. Dos Santos is next . . . I'm guessing No way man. Dos Santos is way above Mir in the rankings if you ask me. It should be Dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez next and Mir vs. either Gonzaga or Cro-Cop. Mir is no longer in the title picture anymore, where-as guys like Velasquez and Dos Santos are.

I completely forgot about Gilbert Yvel. He's another one Mir should face at some point. Maybe Yvel/Big Nog and Mir/Cro-Cop or Yvel/Mir and Cro-Cop/Big Nog. They'd all be great fights no matter what.

Trust me, I'm one of the biggest Frank Mir haters around...but your absolute crazy if you think he doesnt have amazing talent. He got dropped last night, big deal, the guy is still one of the top heavyweights in the UFC. I was actually happy he didnt run his mouth this fight as much as he usually does. I think he was too caught up in getting another fight with Lesnar than worrying about Carwin. He was too relaxed and got sloppy, and with Carwins KO power, you cant do that.

He is definitely talented, but has changed for the worst.

It's undeniable that Frank is talented. It's also undeniable that he talks a lot of crap.
In my podcast, I correctly predicted that Mir would lose because he put too much faith in his admittedly improved standup. It's gotten a lot better than it once was, but no way should he have kept the Carwin fight standing. If Mir goes back to his roots and only uses his standup to set up takedowns, I think he's got several good years and plenty of good fights left in him, and that includes fights against hulking behemoths now that Mir is tipping the scales at 265.

Mir may have just hit a glass ceiling in the UFC with these hulking mountains of muscle that are currently at the top, but he's far from done as a fighter. You need to look at the bigger picture, instead of disliking him and deciding you'd like for the guy to never be on your tv again. Even if his time comes to a close in the UFC (which I don't see happening anytime soon), there would be some good fights for him outside of the company.

Like I said before, I believe Junior Dos Santos is way above Frank Mir in the rankings now. I mean, look at the guys Dos Santos has went through: Fabricio Werdum who many people thought would be next in line for a title shot, Stefan Struve, Mirko Cro-Cop, Gilbert Yvel, and most recently Gabriel Gonzaga.
Dos Santos is on a 5-fight win streak. That alone right there is WAY more that can be said about Frank Mir. I mean, Mir lost to Lesnar, came back against Kongo and won and last night loses to Carwin. He should definitely be way farther down in the rankings than Junior Dos Santos.
I firmly believe that the next match-ups would be Dos Santos vs. Velasquez and Mir taking on either Cro-Cop, Yvel or Gonzaga.
If they do fight, then the winner of the Dos Santos/Velasquez fight should get the next title shot against the winner of Brock/Carwin.

Whatever. Dana also says Fedor is overrated. I am sure we will see Dos Santos vs. Velasquez at some point.
Mir should just face Nogueira next. Gilbert Yvel and Cro Cop already have fights coming up.

I'm sure it's a business decision in regards to why he won't do Dos Santos/Cain right this instant. If it was for a title, yeah it'd happen immediately. For now, keeping those two separated is just a way to keep this current HW boom going on a bit longer. As it stands, if they keep those two from losing their next fights, there are pretty much 3 straight marketable title fights on their hands. Especially if Brock is involved with them.
You basically have...
Brock-vs-Carwin Winner-vs-Cain or Dos Santos Winner-vs-Whichever from the above didn't get the shot first.
Plus you need to figure, if Brock or Carwin sweep out Dos Santos and Cain, they could quickly do a Dos Santos-vs-Cain once the dust settles.

Everyone here knows I love him but I think he just isn't strong enough to compete with these new bigger, stronger HW's, or he just go to cocky.I wouldn't mind seeing a healty Big BOG vs Mir though.

Nothing has happened to Mir. He just got mauled in his last two losses by far stronger men who are both great wrestlers.
Sign of the times in the heavyweight division right now. Both Brock & Carwin are just so powerful, but unlike say a Bob Sapp they have skill alongside it.
I can see Cain sitting out until winner of Carwin/Brock. Hopefully this sets up the following -Mir vs. JDS. A win here gets Mir back on track for rematch with Brock which I think he'll lose but draw big bucks or morelikely gives JDS another scalp setting him up as title contender come 2011 -Nog vs. Gonzaga. Just always wanted to see this fight.

+1 for that epic proportion of win you just supplied us . Anywho, Shane vs Brock should be very interesting. It was silly for Frank to try to stand up with Carwin, but is guess he wasn't taking him down anyway.
