Ok, I'm paraphrasing, but he basically says these tea party people are built around a core group who think he's not an American citizen and who think he's a socialist. The second allegation is arguable IMO, but that's another thread. I'm curious what people think about the Tea Party. I could see them running a candidate for Pres in 2012, but they don't seem to have a single platform that they all buy into. They're platform seems to just be that the current way of doing things is bad. Link to Obama article - news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100330/ap_on_el_ge/us_obama_tea_party

Tea Partiers are libretarians who enjoy freedom and enjoy not being robbed blind out of their pay check. It took this presiedent and his free spending ways to galvanize them.
I'm sure I misspelled something. . . my bad. . .

I always thought they were a super conservative group of republicans..which I guess some people call libertarians.
I'd say republicans in general bitch about Obama's spending, but don't look at Bush as the monster that started rampage spending.
I would consider myself a libertarian who could be classified as a "Tea Party" member, but I am for a public option on healthcare. Kind of strange, right?

These ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing dickheads have been borderline harassing me via text message and it's completely legal because they're a political group.

teabaggers are are racist, underhanded, vicious people who hide behind their moral axiom. Very similar to many "holy" people who go to church and sing jesus jesus then go and blow up abortion clinics. They are some of the craziest people in the world, and sadly, the trend continues to grow. As the old saying goes, misery loves company.

That is funny.
Anyone who still thinks Obama is not a citizen is out there imo.
They won't win anything but it will be funny to see them try.

If they ran a Presidential election today, I think they'd take 10-15% of the vote and that would largely come right from the Republicans.

I don't think the teabaggers realize that their looney outspokenness is eventually going to lose them public support and cost the Republicans a chance to regain any control of anything.

A Democrat ran, a Republican ran and a Tea Party candidate won. They successfully knocked off the Republican and lost anyways.
