WWE Over The Limit 2010 May 23rd, 2010 Detroit, MI at Ford Field
Dark Match: The Hart Dynasty defeated. Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes to retain the Unified Tag Team Championship
-A promo runs through all the feuds we've had through RAW and SmackDown. It mainly hypes Kane vs. Batista and Jericho vs. Edge as well as Punk vs. Mysterio, Cena vs. Taker, and HHH vs. Sheamus.
-WWE Over The Limit 2010 kicks off with sweet pyrotechnics. Then, we pan over to Jerry "The King" Lawler and Michael Cole who ype Monday Night RAW's card for Over The Limit. Then, Jim Ross and Matt Striker greet us to this PPV extravaganza. They hype SmackDown's portion before we head to our opening matchup!
-Zack Ryder w/Rosa Mendez defeated. Evan Bourne to WIN the United States Championship 8:57 Phenomenal way to kick off Over The Limit. Bourne and Ryder locked up before Bourne went to twist Ryder's arm and Ryder took advantage with a sleeper hold. Bourne breaks off by running up the turnbuckle and pushing back for the two count. Bourne then runs at Ryder but Bourne hits the sunset flip but Ryder was on his A-Game kicking out of every pin cover tonight. Ryder and Bourne got up and Ryder threw Bourne in the air and Bourne hit a springboard moonsault. Bourne hit some more of his highflying aerial attacks. But as he tried for a springboard crossbody, Ryder got him in mid-air with a dropkick. Ryder then went to hit a swinging neckbreaker and a hangman's neckbreaker. Ryder set up for the Zack Attack but Bourne hits a Samoan drop like move. Bourne went to the top to hit an Air Bourne but Rosa distracted him. Ryder pulls him off the turnbuckle. Ryder then hits the Zack Attack to win his first singles title!
-Zack Ryder drops to his knees. He then gets up and raises his United States Championship to some huge heat. Ryder leaves up the ramp raising his US Championship high. Bourne is in the ring angrily before leaving backstage to a nice ovation.
-We head backstage. We see The Miz standing by with Bret Hart. The Miz asks Bret Hart why isn't the "main attraction" The Miz on the Over The Limit card. Miz says that he's the reason that every fan in the world ordered this PPV and came tonight. Bret Hart says that he doesn't like Miz but he likes his confidence. Hart says that the PPV card is already full tonight but tomorrow night on RAW, he's going to give Miz a chance to prove himself. Miz walks away looking mad.
-We go back to the arena where Jim Ross and Matt Striker. They tell us that we already have see one new champion. And they wonder if we'll see some more tonight. They hype the next match which happens to be John Morrison vs. Ted DiBiase.
-John Morrison defeated. Ted DiBiase 10:06 Another awesome match here as both these superstars put on a show here. Morrison got the advantage early on a side headlock. Ted DiBiase managed to break off with some elbows to the gut and stuff. Ted took advantage at running for a clothesline but Morrison ducks and gets a backslide for the 2. Morrison and Ted get up and Morrison tries to hit a side kick but Ted DiBiase manages to catch the leg and stomp on Morrison's gut before locking in a Deathlock. Morrison reached the ropes and it got to 4. DiBiase worked at the legs for a while making it difficult to jump for a Starship Pain. Luckily, in the end, Morrison had other options of a Moonlight Drive and managed to hold on for a very determined and anticipated Starship Pain for the big win.
-John Morrison stands up. He has his hand raises as he celebrates. He throws his hand out there to shake hands with Ted DiBiase. Ted DiBiase declines before leaving. Morrison shrugs it off and celebrates some more.
-Backstage, we see Triple H being interviewed by Josh Mathews. Mathews asks HHH has thoughs on Sheamus's wants to put him out of action forever. HHH responds. He says that he's faced everything that a superstar could endure. HHH says that if Sheamus wants to put him out, he's sadly mistaking. Just like when he went out to the sun and thought it was whiter. HHH says that Sheamus is the brightest thing on the planet and tonight, Sheamus's blood with cover it up.
-Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler give us a view of outside Ford Field before he head to our promo for the Divas Championship Match.
-Maryse defeated. Melina to retain the Divas Champion 5:14 This was a decent Divas match-up here. Maryse and Melina had a short cat fight before Melina hit some momentum clotheslines. Melina went to hit a dropkick and then had her whip off the ropes reversed. Melina came back to hit a flying clothesline and then a neckbreaker. Melina went to the top rope but botched a fall. Maryse made it look better as she pulled Melina off the turnbuckle on her back. Maryse would go to work over the back under the end where Melina would be durable enough to work through the pain and hit a missile dropkick. Melina went to hit the Sunset Split but Maryse went forward and rolled Melina up while holding the ropes for leverage and won.
-Maryse has screwed Melina out of the gold tonight. From behind, Melina comes with a bulldog. Melina then hits the Sunset Split that could've won her the title. Melina then says that this isn't over before leaving to the crowd's delight and a small "Melina" chant.
-An official T-Mobile WWE Vote asks who will win World Titles tonight? Kane? Jericho? Both? The results will be shown on their respective matches.
-Shockingly, we are backstage with Triple H and special guest and future Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels! Michaels gets one of the loudest pops in the WWE ever. HHH says he's going to go out their and dedicate this match to him.
Triple H vs. Sheamus ends in a Double Knockout 14:23 This match was very brutal! From beginning to ending. Triple H and Sheamus had a staredown before Triple H managed to clothesline Sheamus over the ropes after a bunch of punches. Triple H tries to go out there with him but Sheamus pulls him off the apron on his ribs. HHH grips them and Sheamus does to work on them. Lifting HHH onto his shoulders and driving him into the turnbuckle. Then, for a shocker, HHH used some dead weight to hit a DDT. Triple H ripped off the announcement table only to be clubbed onto it. Sheamus then goes to lift HHH for a Celtic Crucifix Powerbomb. Triple H managed to break loose and hits a huge spinebuster thorugh the table. Though Sheamus gets up at 7. Triple H lifts Sheamus up and out of nowhere Sheamus blasts HHH with a chair! Blood pours down the face of HHH before Sheamus starts to open the cut with some lefts and rights. Sheamus does to stalk HHH for the Pump Kick but HHH gets up at 5 and gives Sheamus a huge Pedigree on the steel steps for the very brutal spot for the 8. Triple H waits for Sheamus to get up and clotheslines him over the barricade where the fight spills over there. The match comes back to the steel ramp where Triple H hits a spinebuster off the ladder on the steel ramp. Both men are out cold. The referee counts them out.
-The officials help both men to their feet before Sheamus shoves them off. Sheamus then assaults Triple H! Suddenly, "Sexy Boy!" hits and Shawn Michaels comes out to a deafening ovation. Sheamus looks on it shock. Sheamus kicks him in the gut and goes to hit the Pump Kick but Shawn hits him with a Sweet Chin Music! Michaels and Hunter fade backstage where Sheamus is finally helped to his feet in anger.
-We head to the announcement table. Jerry "The King" Lawler and Michael Cole hype how great it is to see Shawn Michaels for one night only here.
-Cole and Lawler take us back to the Commercial Free RAW where Bret Hart was announced as new GM.
-"Word Life" hits and John Cena comes out. Cena comes out and raps and it gets lots of heat for teasing Undertaker and the fans it in. Cena goes to the outside and gets in a small kid's face. Cena yells "YOU CAN'T SEE ME KID!" The kid laughs before Cena looks at the kid before focusing on the upcoming match.
-John Cena defeated. The Undertaker 21:19 Wow. This match has to be a MOTY Candidate. The Undertaker and John Cena went to the mat where Cena hit in a waistlock before Taker breaks loose and drops Cena down to pull his arm and then drops some knees on Cena's arm. Taker then goes to whip Cena off the ropes for a big spinning side slam. Taker sets up for the early Chokeslam. Cena hits a huge DDT. Cena goes to work with a front headlock before Taker punches Cena in the gut and chest a few times before hitting a body drop. Taker then takes it to Cena with a snake eyes but Cena ducks the big boot and Cena comes off the ropes with an Avalanche (Spin-Out Powerbomb!) Cena then hits the 5 Knuckle Shuffle at that kid and Taker before turning to Taker where Taker hits a big chokeslam! Taker only gets a 2. Taker hits some lefts and rights and goes at a Tombstone but Cena slips off and pushes Taker off the ropes and hits a huge Spinebuster! Cena then hits his top rope signature Rocker Dropper Leg Drop for the 2. Cena stalks Taker for the F-U but Taker flips off and gets Cena in a Tombstone and drops Cena with a huge Tombstone Piledriver! Taker takes a while to make a cover but when he did he got a 2. Taker sits up and the crowd knows it's game time. Taker whips Cena to the ropes and hits two clotheslines before missing the third with an elbow from Cena. Cena leaps off the top and hits a Throwback. Cena goes to hit the STF-U but Taker manages to use his resiliency to get to the ropes 25 seconds later. Cena is pushed off by the referee and goes back to Taker only to take a Chokeslam for the 2! Taker lifts Cena but Cena gives him a low blow and an F-U for a shocking 2! Cena goes to the top rope to hit his Rocker Dropper but Taker catches him for a Last Ride. Cena manages to grab his chain off the turnbuckle and wraps it around his fist and drills Taker in the face with it! The referee didn't see it! Cena hits a big F-U for the big win!
-John Cena looks exhausted in pain holding his back. Cena does the Word Life symbol to some fantastic heat. Cena leaves backstage as Taker sits up looking mad but gets a great ovation as he leaves.
-The camera follows John Cena backstage as he goes backstage and interrupts World Heavyweight Champion Edge's interview coming infront of the screen. Cena yells "YEAH! WORD LIFE!" Edge shakes his head as we fade a promo.
-A promo hypes the return of "Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy.
-A promo hypes the upcoming match, CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio.
-Appearently, CM Punk has requested mic time before the PPV. Because now, he's in the ring with a microphone. CM Punk says it's so sad we don't find many Straight Edge Society members much more. CM Punk claims it's an absolute disgrace why Mysterio would wanna Ban S.E.S because it's saving people to become better than him which he already is and has no problem proving now.
-CM Punk w/Luke Gallows and Serena defeated. Rey Mysterio to retain S.E.S as well as add Rey Mysterio as a new member 13:31 -Very physical match here. Rey Mysterio was super fast early in kicking Punk in the knees before dropkicking Punk and then hitting a low dropkick for a 1 count. Mysterio then goes to hit a springboard moonsault but Punk dodges and Mysterio falls where CM Punk hits a low stiff kick. Punk then whips Mysterio off the ropes where Mysterio slides under Punk's legs before hitting the wheelbarrow facebuster DDT. Mysterio then trips Punk up and hits a 619. He jumps off the ropes but in mid-air, Punk catches him and locks in the Anaconda Vise in the center of the ring. Mysterio is in deep trouble. Mysterio manages to catch Punk's head before getting it in a front headlock. Both men keep the submissions in before they both reach the ropes. The referee goes to pull off Punk but Punk won't let go until he finally lets go. The referee pays no attention to Mysterio though. Gallows drills him with the brass knuckles. Punk then hits the Go 2 Sleep for the win.
-CM Punk gets up and high fives Luke Gallows and Serena. Punk grabs Mysterio and sets up for another Go 2 Sleep before "No More Words" hits and Jeff Hardy races down the ramp to an amazing pop! SES leaves up the ramp as Hardy checks on Mysterio.
-Backstage, we see Jeff Hardy taking Rey Mysterio to the medical center. Jeff Hardy then hugs his brother Matt Hardy. Jeff Hardy says he hopes Mysterio is okay. Matt agrees before they walk off.
-A promo hypes our next match which is the WWE Championship Match.
-Kane defeated. WWE Champion Batista via countout (Batista retains the WWE Championship 11:10 Pretty good big man match here. Kane managed to hit some of his major moves early on. But Batista kicked out of them all before taking the momentum when Kane went to hit the Flying Clothesline but in mid-air, Batista hit a Spear/Spinebuster. Batista stalks Kane for an early Batista Bomb but Kane drills Batista with a massive right following a sidewalk slam and flying clothesline. Kane grabs Batista by the throat but Batista kicks away and hits a Batista Bomb for the 2 count! Batista goes to hit another but Kane rolls through and hits a big Chokeslam! Before Kane can cover, Batista takes his WWE Championship and heads up the ramp. Kane looks on angrily as the referee is up to 9 and then 10.
-Batista looks up disgusted at Kane. Batista then raises the WWE Championship high. Kane looks very mad in the ring.
-A promo hypes WWE's next PPV, WWE Fatal Four Way!
-Backstage, we see Chris Jericho. He says that tonight is the night. He's going to win back the World Heavyweight Title. Jericho smirks before leaving.
-A promo hypes the World Heavyweight Championship which airs now!
-Edge defeated. Chris Jericho to retain the World Heavyweight Championship 16:23 Great way to end WWE Over The Limit here with this classic. Jericho and Edge have a mat battle. Jericho trips Edge up but Edge kicks him in the face. Edge then starts to stomp on Jericho in the turnbuckle. Jericho manages to slam Edge down and locks in a headlock which Edge breaks off of. Edge then rolls through and hits an Edge 'O' Matic. Edge stalks Jericho for a Spear but Jericho jumps in the air and Jericho rolls up Edge with his feet on the ropes for the 2. Jericho goes to run for the Enziguri but Edge trips Jericho up and locks in the Edgecator. Jericho manages to pull his whole body to the ropes. Edge walks to Jericho on the apron and Jericho headbutts him. Jericho then goes to the top and hits a missile dropkick! Jericho then hits a Breakdown before trying to hit a double underhook powerbomb but Edge slips through and hits an Edgecution. Edge goes to the top for a missile dropkick but Jericho catches his legs and drops him on his back before locking in the Walls of Jericho. Edge reaches the ropes like 30 seconds after. Jericho steps back and goes for a Codebreaker but Edge counters with a whiplash and a roll-up for 2. Both men get up and Jericho hits a huge Codebreaker for the 2 count shockingly! Jericho lifts Edge to his feet and Edge manages to roll through and hits a hangman's neckbreaker. Edge then hits Jericho with a huge Spear for the 1.2.3!
-Edge raises the World Heavyweight Championship high in that very brutal matchup. Edge celebrates with his fans with the World Title as Over The Limit goes off air!

- Pleased to see Ryder win the US Title. . - Morrison defeating DiBiase I am fine with. Either way would be good. - Maryse retaining the divas championship is the right call here. - Ending HHH/Sheamus in a double count out is good. Continues feud. - Very much dislike Cena/Taker going on at this point, and at this slot in the show. My point is - this would be much better for WrestleMania rather then jumping right in on Smackdown. Cena winning is ok. - Rey Mysterio having to join the Straight Edge Society is better then SES ban, but I'm guessing he'll get out of it. - Kane beating Batista by count out as good as it keeps Batista strong, but Kane as a still contender. - Lastly, a good main event to have with Edge vs Jericho, this ending shall be good. Glad to see Edge retain. Overall, a good show, the only real flaw I had with it was the Taker/Cena match itself, which doesn't fit having for a Pay-Per-View like Over the Limit. WrestleMania, or even Summerslam, would of been better.

- Zack Ryder as the new US Champion is AMAZING! - I would have liked Ted to go over Morrison, but I guess this gives Morrison some momentum. - The Double Knockout was something I would not have expected, but I like it. The finish was pretty extreme and a tad unrealistic for HHH but I’ll take it. - I feel like you could’ve done more with a Cena/Undertaker feud and really stretched it out, but regardless it was nice. - Hardy back is cool, but unrealistic - I am so happy you put Rey in the SES as I feel that can start a great angle - Batista retaining via disqualification was wise - Isn’t that Fatal Four Way promo actually for the rumble? - Edge retaining was the right call

WWE Over the Limit: Sunday 23rd May 2010...Ford Field? Right, this isn't WrestleMania XXVII. This would be from Joe Louis Arena. Sweet graphics here, by the way. A good opening contest between Evan Bourne and Zack Ryder, but I am glad to see Ryder become the WWE United States Champion. Ryder with Rosa Mendes though, I am really not fond of Mendes to be totally truthful. Next, a solid match between John Morrison and Ted DIbiase, a pretty good match here admittedly. I would think these two would be slightly dull in the ring though, if honest. Morrison continues his push it seems; hopefully Dibiase gets a similar one. Maryse beating Melina was for the best; I am not a fond of these two's matches. Melina in modern day is a terrible wrestler. Maryse's WWE Divas Championship reign is getting a little old now also; I think it's time her reign should be reaching a close. Ah, Shawn Michaels' appearance was pretty nice. A great Last Man Standing match; but another feud continuation is bad. I absolutely hate the idea of this double knockout finish; Triple H and Sheamus' feud has ran since February. It doesn't need to resume. Next up, I find it an absolutely terrible decision to have John Cena face The Undertaker on this pay-per-view without it main eventing. WrestleMania quality match, to be truthful. I hated this, and I hope you decide not to have them compete until 'Mania or a 'Mania. Him beating 'Taker too seems a little biased. CM Punk beating Rey Mysterio is slightly weird; hoping that you are taking opportunity to give Mysterio the time off he really needs. You can easily set that up with a Straight Edge Society beatdown. Good win for Kane even though he doesn't gain the WWE Championship. Kane doesn't need another reign to be honest. Also, weak and anticlimatic finish. Hopefully we see continuation into Fatal 4 Way. Lastly, decent main event with Edge and Chris Jericho in what should definitely be their final encounter for the World Heavyweight Championship. A good pay-per-view, but definitely not a fan of the match ordering. It was all clustered and the star power is ridiculous. Most booking decisions in addition were absymal and/or confusing. But you have some good things going for you.

Nice show. Wish Bourne had retained. The rest of the card was booked solidly, though I thought having HBk and Hardy return on the same night was overkill. Should have spaced them out a bit more. Otherwise, a great show.

Evan Bourne versus Zack Ryder sounds like all kinds of win. Nice to see Zack finally win his first singles championship in WWE. On the other hand, I would have liked to see Bourne have a longer reign with the United States Championship, but it's all good. In my eyes, a continuing feud between these two could be great.
I was hoping to see Rey Mysterio join the Straight Edge Society in real life, so I'm interested in seeing how that goes in diary form. That should make an awfully interesting storyline. Refreshing to see you head into a direction that wasn't so obvious, too.
Other than that, I really don't have much to comment on. Sounds like a lot of champions wound up retaining their titles. I wouldn't mind seeing Kane win the WWE Championship somewhere down the line. I don't believe too many people on here have given him a shot in the main event before. Would certainly make for an interesting read, that's for sure.

-Very happy to see Ryder win the US Title. Keep the feud going. -Morrison beating DiBiase was the right call here. -Triple H vs. Sheamus is good. The Draw is nice too. HBK returning for a night is epic. -Cena beating Taker is epic here. Hope to see them at WM27 -Punk beating Mysterio is a nice call. Mysterio in SES is nice too. This is going to be very interesting. -Kane winning via countout and Batista retaining keeps them both strong. I expect for them to continue into Fatal 4 Way. -Edge beating Jericho I like here. Hope Edge has a great long reign as champion. And I look forward to seeing where this goes from here on out.
-As usual, good show.

The opening segment involving Batista and Randy Orton was fun; I like how you are booking Orton. I would have saved Orton versus Sheamus for later in the show, but it is still a good match nonetheless. Orton going over makes sense, but I would have loved for Sheamus to have qualified. Santino as World Champion would be a dream come true. Kane defeating Santino was fine, but nothing special. I am unsure about how I feel about Kane getting a main event push this late in his career. I love Zack Ryder as US Champion and I love even more that he retained the gold. Batista the referee for Hardy-Punk is fine. Punk defeating Matt Hardy after a huge swerve is great. I wonder what is going to happen with Jeff Hardy and C.M Punk.

May 25th, 2010 Edition
-Plans are to have Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy's rivalry to stretch into SummerSlam where they had their first ever TLC Tag Match. Plans are to have them take on each other in a TLC Match too. -The Undertaker has gone on break now. He will be back soon but he's decided to take a rest like he did last year. -Plans are also to Sheamus have an angle with Kane this Summer. It'll probably take off at Night of Champions but will really blast out this Summer. -WWE has decided maybe to bring back the Cruiserweight Division for SmackDown. It's been undecided if RAW will get another belt to even it up. -WWE seems comfortable with John Cena as a heel leading them slowly back into PG-14. They don't have plans for Cena to turn face anytime soon but they do have plans to have Cena/Taker at WM27. -The creative team has plans to bring back the American Badass biker Undertaker as well. Though the plans could be altered. -As seen earlier, about the Cena/Taker WM27 match could be altered too. WWE creative team will most likely to come in contact with The Rock or Stone Cold about a match with Cena too. Plans are unsure at the moment. -WWE Night of Champions' poster is confirmed. Night of Champions is on June 18th, 2010 (Sorry at it saying July.)-CM Punk is expect to carry WWE for a while in his heel turn. WWE feels they weren't using him to his full potential making him lose to Mysterio at WrestleMania 26 in 6 minutes. So expect to see him with some gold and back into the main event status.

-Kudos for keeping up with this diary. -Solid opener. Randy's return is being built well. -Very happy to see Orton beat Sheamus. -Santino will never be World Champion in my opinion unless of shocker. -Kane beating Santino was the obvious right call so I'm thrilled here. -Ryder as US Champion is absolute awesomeness. Great booking there. Ryder getting the retain here is a nice touch. Hope Bourne stays in contention though. -Melina and Natalya winning the Battle Royal was nice. It was very creative though. Like it. -Batista as Special Referee was good. Like Punk winning here. Hardy/Hardy II sounds great. Looking forward to seeing where this rivalry goes. -Great RAW! Keep it going!
-As far as the updates go they were all great. Like the NOC Poster. -Hope to see Rock/Cena at Mania'.

WWE RAW: Monday 24th May 2010...Good opening promo to start up with Randy Orton in the ring, discussing the WWE Championship. Batista then coming out is nice and it looks like we have a new program beginning here on RAW. Good advancement for Randy Orton against Sheamus in a great opening contest, but it's a massive shame that Sheamus hasn't been able to advance into the WWE Championship fatal four-way match at Fatal 4 Way. Kane beating Santino Marella is acceptable for Kane to let go of his frustration and hopefully the situation with Batista over the WWE Championship can possibly resume a tiny bit. Good defense of the WWE United States Championship, just a tad unsure about this as first hour main event. Zack Ryder beating Evan Bourne was for the best. Interested in what will happen with CM Punk and Matt Hardy later on. Now that is a first hour main event, this is not worthy, to be honest. Hmm, ot sure about ten divas being in a battle royal. Maybe a few too many. Melina and Natalya tying? Odd, but interesting. Looking forward to Melina facing these two and somebody else; I hate the idea of another battle royal, and I hate the idea you're turning the WWE Divas Championship singles match into a fatal four-way opportunity. Don't go overkill with four way matches at Fatal 4 Way. A good yet weak main event with CM Punk and Matt Hardy; really not a good main event other than Jeff Hardy returning, and Batista as special referee doesn't make sense. A good show for the first part, went downhill at the end.

- I apologize for not keeping up with this so I'm not sure what's what, but I'll keep up with it from now on. Sorry about that.
- Good opening promo by Randy Orton and Batista. We've seen matches between them before but hopefully you can put a different twist on it and see where it goes.
- Orton over Sheamus. I feel you kind of backed yourself into a corner by having two top guys go at it. Orton going over was smart, but Sheamus looks a little weak. Dunno where Sheamus fails into your sim, but hopefully you can build him back up.
- Kane squashing Marrella was obviously predictable. You could've had a good "RAW feud" for a few weeks by having Santino pick up the quick/shocking victory but to each their own. Please, do something good with Kane.. make him interesting.
- Ryder over Bourne?! I have nothing to say about that other than.. WOO, WOO, WOO, YOU KNOW IT!
- Good promo backstage by Batista. Kane vs. Santino was a Fatal Four Way qualifying match? Hmm. Dis-regard the Kane/Marrella comments, smart move for that. You just didn't mark it as a qualifying match.
- Good call with Melina/Natalya winning. But, two battle royals back to back weeks? Pretty ooh choice.
- Punk over Hardy to qualify for FFW was smart. Hardy turning heel is different.. and I like it. Good swerve.
- My only complaint is.. the qualifiers seemed a little too predictable. But, you don't have a lot to work with.
- Good show.
