Hopefully this is something that will be resolved soon, it's been lagging to hell for me as well, and I used to get super-smooth connections on 2009. There's obviously some bugs that still need to be figured out, hopefully a patch comes out by the time the first card is announced.
That said, we're off to a great start. Including myself, twelve people have signed up for MFWF MMA 1. Here are the updated totals.
Mukau
Chael Sonnen Matt Hughes
mc atm
Junior Dos Santos Ryan Bader
Mayhemmonkey
Tito Ortiz
DracoFlames 92
Wanderlei Silva (MW)
X513X KERNAL
Thiago Silva Chris Leben
Dave Grohl’s Beard
Diego Sanchez (WW) BJ Penn (LW)
The Champ is Here
Anderson Silva
Project KSL
Georges St-Pierre
Subway
Tyson Griffin Dan Henderson
Mr. Slice
Frank Mir Kenny Florian
PdW2kX
Michael Bisping Chris Lytle
TheResident
Pat Barry Dan Hardy
I'm thinking of calling the show "History in the Making". If anyone has any other suggestions for what they think the show should be named, feel free to throw 'em out.

I'm not such a big member on here as I am on MMAfigs.com, but I did start the camp for all of us over there to help spar and find people for our fights, so anyone on here is welcome to send me a friend request and I'll invite them to the camp

I've just added an alphabetized list of all the people currently signed up with MFWF MMA. It includes everyone's gamertags, what fighters they have, the weight class of their fighters, and the records of their fighters.
Once again, I'm asking that if anything posted is out of date or just plain wrong, please let me know as soon as possible.

First card is UP, and it's quite the doozy. Get all the details here. I've also added the card to the first post for the sake of convenience. It's at the very end of the first post. To simplify things... 1. 13 official matches. 2. Everyone has from today, May 30, until Saturday, June 5, to meet their opponent over XBL, schedule a time where both of you can be on XBL and fight, and then actually fight your fight. 3. The HW, LHW, and MW division fights will be the first round in a CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. LHW follows the traditional eight-man tourney format. For HW and MW, whoever receives the fastest KO or submission will receive a BYE and go directly into the finals. To any who may ask, it doesn't matter if it's a KO or a submission, whoever gets it fastest gets the bye. 4. To find your opponent's Gamertag, please read the first post under "The Members of MFWF MMA". It's an alphabetized list of all MFWF's members and includes their gamertags. 5. If anyone has any questions or comments, or if any information is out of date (your fighters, your gamertag, ANYTHING) please post in this topic or PM me AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. And finally, I can't stress this enough, REMEMBER TO RECORD YOUR FINISHES ACCURATELY! In the heat of the moment it can get really tough to do this, but one of the rules of MFWF MMA is that BOTH fighters must post their fight finishes in order for it to be recorded. So remember, before you exit out, you need to record WHO won, HOW they won, and WHEN they won. And if it's a DECISION, be sure to note whether it was UNANIMOUS or SPLIT. Thanks to all who have supported MFWF from day one and continue to support it! I look forward to seeing how "History in the Making" turns out.

Michael Bisping (PdW2kX) defeats Wanderlei Silva (DracoFlames92) by TKO at 4:31 of Round 1.
DF92 has posted the result in the MF boards, so the result is now official. I'm incredibly pleased that I was involved in MFWF's first fight!
That said, it was a great fight. A lot of smart punching and counter-punching, he blocked some of my best shots and definitely caught me with some real good ones. The finish came when I landed a good counter, got him on the ground, and punched him a couple of times in up/down which rocked him, then got on top and pounded him out for the TKO.
I've got to say, this fight really gave me a lot of faith in MFWF, it was by far the most fun I've had so far when it comes to the online in this game. Lag was still a bit of an issue, but for the most part it was a whole lot of fun. Many thanks to DracoFlames 92.
And before I forget, this was brought to my attention recently. If you're going for the fastest KO either for the Tournament bye or for the prizes, TKO's do count. So let 'em fly if you want the bye or the prize.

Nothing too major, but here's our first new rule.
NEW RULE: When posting the result of your fight, please note when the fight ended and not how much time was left in the round. For example, if you get a 16 second knockout, your post should read something like "X defeated Y via KO at 0:16 of Round 1", and should not look like "X defeated Y with 4:44 left in Round 1". This is done to avoid any confusion that may pop up.
For GSP/Hughes, I went ahead and converted your fight into the system I'm using. But in the future, please stick to this new format, guys. I know some may question if we really need a rule like this, but please just follow along with it. I personally think it will go a long way towards ensuring that accurate fight records are tallied.
And to AlwaysHi, there's no real reason why you weren't included on this card. I don't know how it happened, but it appears that your name must have simply been overlooked Saturday night when I was figuring out the card. I apologize wholeheartedly. Hopefully you remain interested enough to compete in our second event.
And speaking of events, the roster and "History in the Making" card have both been updated with all the most current fight information.

Matt Hamill defeated Jon Jones via arm triangle at 2:05 of Round 2. The reach advantage for Bones was absurd. The only offense I could muster was on the ground. I got ed up by some mount elbows too.

Results have been updated. Some good fights so far, hopefully everyone is enjoying themselves. I may just skip online except for the league, it's becoming a real hassle with the lag and the douchebaggery.

Dan Henderson defeats Chael Sonnen at 1:00 of the third round by TKO via mounted punches.
Not to start an argument or whatever but tbh I may already be tired of this league after this fight which is kinda sad because I really wanted to enjoy this. All the fight was was Subway throwing a punch and then going for 5 takedowns or go against the cage and go for more takedown, and I can't do anything on the ground because if I tried to do anything he would reverse the position. So whoever goes against him next get your ground defense up because that's all it's going to be.

It's unfortunate that you had a bad fight or two and may be losing interest in the league, but I can't control how MFWF's members play the game. The best I can do as we go forward is to try and figure out everyone's "play style" more or less and then try to match up styles whenever possible.
There's really nothing I can do if someone just wants to spam takedowns or spam counter-punches, or spam this or that. First off, who am I to say what the difference is between "spamming takedowns" and playing to your strengths?
You can call it "cheap" all you want, and believe me, I've come across some cheap players and it is very frustrating, but at the end of the day they're not doing anything against the rules. If they constantly DNF or constantly trash talk, or otherwise do anything that breaks the rules of MFWF, rest assured that they'll get kicked from the league. I've got as close to a zero-tolerance policy on that as possible.
One of the biggest lightning rods of controversy back in the 2009 league was also the ground game. I don't know what to tell ya, guys. I hate to be "that guy", but for those struggling on the ground, perhaps it's time to swallow your pride and head back to the tutorial, or just grind it out online or in exhibition until you've got it down. I literally had about a nine-fight "defeat streak" in career mode and a six/seven fight "defeat streak" in ranked online before I got the hang of career and online. Practice makes perfect.
With that said....
Chris Lytle (PdW2kX) defeats Dan Hardy (TheResident) by KO at 1:30 of Round 2.
Resident posted the result over on MF, so it's official. From now on, I'm going to stop noting when someone from the other board posts the result. I just find it unnecessary. When you see the result in bold in the section where results are posted, consider it official and that both opponents have confirmed the result.
With that said, I really enjoyed this fight. I felt like I was getting picked apart with counter-striking and some good takedowns, so I went for some clinch-striking against the cage and landed a few good shots. I ended up closing the distance in Round 2 and simply going for broke, I caught him with about a three/four clinch-range elbow combo to score the KO.
And finally, all the latest results and records have been updated.
