In a recent interview conducted by SLAM! Sports, TNA star Rob Van Dam had the following to say concerning his upcoming match against AJ Styles at TNA's Sacrifice PPV: "AJ's good. I'm used to having everybody's best match my whole career. I take everybody's move's the best anybody's ever taken them, I make everybody look better than they've ever looked before. AJ's got a lot to work with. I expect, and there's a really good chance, that this is going to be the best match of his career and hopefully a match that has everybody taking about TNA."

It doesn't surprise me, with Rob Van Dam's flexability, that he can kiss his own ass so easily.

I think people also might want to keep in mind that RVD is TNA right now. Hulk was brought in, and it didn't work. Jeff Hardy was brought in, and it got better. Now they finally have RVD, who is working out wonderfuly for them, and is pretty much the hottest thing in the company right now.
While I still think he's being cocky, you have to give some props to a guy that's been somewhat the "Main Guy" of two wrestling organizations, and had the potential to be the face of another if WWE would have kept pushing him.

While I still think he's being cocky, you have to give some props to a guy that's been somewhat the "Main Guy" of two wrestling organizations, and had the potential to be the face of another if WWE would have kept pushing him. Two Words: Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle hasn't (to my knowledge) stated anything like during a feud. When Kurt Angle did/does media interviews, he puts everyone over weather they deserve it or not. I don't care if Rob Van Dam is "super-over", you can't basically bury the guy you're facing at a pay-per-view. Van Dam basically said "Sure, Styles is good.. but he isn't Rob Van Dam. I'm going to give him the best match of his career". Now when/if Van Dam beats Styles, what does it mean? Nothing. You never bury your opponent before a match which is what I think Van Dam just did. He basically said Styles' matches before now, have blew despite the fact that Styles vs. Joe vs. Daniels from Unbreakable 2005 was rated Five Stars by Dave Meltzer and is one of the most-talked about matches by wrestling fans. Saying "This will be the best match of his career" hurts the already low credibility of AJ Styles following being jobbed out to Van Dam who had wrestled three matches (two cage matches) in a little under 24 hours. Sure, he didn't say it on TV.. but when they internet plans a good size role in wrestling, it's comments like this that TNA really needs to prevent from happening. Just my two cents.

I'm starting to like RVD a whole lot less when he keeps doing interviews like this.

I hear what you are saying SG, and believe me I'm not disagreeing one bit. I think in TNA's mind, any press is good press. Well, they aren't WWE and believe me, bad press is bad press for TNA. So to have your champion go out there and pretty much bury the other guys is a bad thing.
That being said, I was moreso commenting on the fact that RVD deserves some credit, just not as much as he thinks.
Not to mention, if you want to be frank, not all of his matches have exactly been gems.

Am I the only one who thinks RVD has gotten a little more cocky since joining TNA? He seems to be acting like he's better than everyone else.

RVD is RVD. anyone seen his old ECW promos with Sabu and Fonzi? to me it's always been Van Dam's way of delivery. honestly i like the fact that this "new" RVD as people say is champ and head of TNA. he's basically a face/heel champ. he's a face yet at the same time he does heel-ish interviews. then again i've always loved RVD's style but nonetheless he is cocky and he does deliver in his matches. hell for all we know maybe TNA is telling him to bury the crap outta AJ cause AJ is set to win or something. who knows. that's my 10 sack...i mean cents. RVD still is The Whole F'n Show.

Sounding a little cocky. Especially for a FACE champion.

I was tuning in to TNA when they first started their "war".....when RVD came in and just basically took over, I stopped watching. He's still an Upper mid carder to me.

He hasn't impressed me lately. Honestly, I think AJ Styles is better.
