Shadowland beings in July Just in case you were fearing that the Heroic Age was going to keep everything light and fun, Marvel's been putting out teasers for the upcoming story, Shadowland, which begins in July. Yesterday we saw Daredevil in his darker uniform with the Hand. Today we see a bunch of the heroes getting ready to take on the evil. What will this mean for the rest of the Marvel Universe? You can see in this image that Daredevil isn't the only one involved. There will be other characters involved. Shadowland will be written by Andy Diggle with pencils by Billy Tan and is a five issue mini-series. Like most Marvel teasers, we don't know a whole lot about what's going on. The solicit for Shadowland #1 says the following:
"Matt Murdock Dared Evil…and Lost! The battle for the soul of a hero begins! Pushed beyond his limits, Daredevil faces off for a final time against his deadliest foe--Bullseye-- in their most brutal battle ever with more than just Hell’s Kitchen is at stake. Spider-Man, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Punisher and more join forces to stop a war that is breaking out throughout New York, with Daredevil at the center. This event will change the streets of New York City—and the heroes that protect it—forever. Plus, a jaw-dropping final page that will have everyone talking for years to come!" Credit to: Comic Vine
I've never really read any Daredevil before but after reading what this is going to be about and all of these teaser images I have to say I am pretty excited for this event and I really hope it is going to be as shocking as they say it is going to be. Also is Daredevil worth reading right now?

As excited as I am for this, I'm going to wait for the TPB because I'm trying to cut back costs on what I buy, which means getting rid of limited series.
I could change my mind because it looks incredibly bad ass.
I started reading Daredevil at 500 and got a couple issues in but stopped, but what I read was fantastic. Andy Diggle is one of my favorite writers. I'm going to get caught up in time for Shadowland...which means I'll probably get it when it comes out too.
Okay, just read the summary. Had no idea it revolved around Bullseye vs. Daredevil. Definitely getting it now.

Daredevil is really good right now. If you want to get caught up, start at 500.
I'm very much looking forward to Shadowland.

i also really recommend reading Daredevil, except i wouldnt say start at 500. issue 500 is part 4 of an awesome arc, Return of the King. either start at 501, or start at the beginning of Brubaker's amazing run up to the present.

Maybe they'll just write off the whole Frankencastle thing, I mean I don't think anyone actually likes it.

he's not being brought back for Shadowland. he's Franken-Castle throughout. check the solicits for July. he'll be fighting Daken as Franken-Castle in his own book and in Dark Wolverine, which are both Shadowland tie-in issues. and if we are to believe Osborn's visions from Siege, Fanken-Castle basically jump starts the series and is the reason for the event occuring. i also hate this Franken-Castle crap, but Remender says its going to stick for awhile as it now always Castle to have superhuman powers and makes him a stronger presence in the MU. he knows absolutely nothing about the character and really had no business getting an ongoing, as evidenced by him completely ruining the character and basically spitting in the face of everyone who worked on Punisher before him.

, that's disappointing to hear. his letter column is so contrived, he claims he's got for the most part a positive response... i mean, i'm pretty happy with punisher max and it's not like the character hasn't been butchered in the past, but he was done so well for the entire registration act/secret war/dark reign to get dropped so suddenly.

Daredevil as a villain will get me to follow Shadowland. It's such a bold move; I love it.

Anyone read the first issue?
I thought it was pretty great, I liked that Bullseye is back to being Bullseye and the opener with him was hilarious, I'm curious about what is going to happen between the Avengers and Daredevil, and I'm really surprised they ruined the last panel with some of the promotional images but it was still crazy and I can't wait to see what is going to happen in the next issue.

yea, i just got done reading it. i like the whole 'street feeling' they're trying to give this, and i'm really wondering where it's going..that whole thor/iron man/bucky meeting with iron fist and cage was brilliantly written (especially cage). bullseye absolutely SLAUGHTERED those hand ninjas, holy christ. i'm enticed. and that final image of dd putting the blade through bullseye, wow!
i'm confused as to just what state the punisher is in in this book, i know we discussed this before in this thread but it seems as if frank is back to himself in this arc..

Turning a hero into a villian is riveting. However, I dont think Daredevil is the right guy for it. I dont read his comic faithfully, but I am familiar with the character. I guess its possible that something takes place to change him.

If you read from #501 up it does make sense because he is now the leader of "The Hand" which is a league of assassins and because of that he has been changing.
