For the love of Jericho, this is why people don't post customs anymore, they get ripped to shreds without any sort of suggestions on how to get better. Everybody starts somewhere...Beyondo did, Gate did, Rome did, Deepfreeze did, everyone did. More often than not, they don't start somewhere too pretty.
echwf, let me make a few suggestions that may help:
Paint: The paint is pretty chunky and uneven, watering it down will help that. Some acrylic paint doesn't need to be watered down, however the majority of them do.
Lines: Tape off your lines, use some masking tape or painter's tape and paint, letting it dry before you remove the tape. There will most likely be places where it's uneven, and you can just scrape the paint off to make it more even.
Skintone: Skintones really need to be used on the whole figure, otherwise it looks awkward. Your skintone looks pretty decent actually, if not a little pale. Skintones are trial and error 95% of the time, don't get discouraged if you can't get one right away. I suggest getting a bottle of Caramel Candy paint by Apple Barrel as it's an excellent base for a skintone. I usually just add a little white and a smidge of red and there's very little trial and error involved.
Patience: Most importantly, take your time! This isn't a speed round, work on your custom in short sessions, I usually work on mine in 15 minute sessions or so. You don't have to do everything in one session, especially if a skintone is involved. Just take your time and I think you'll find that you'll improve.
Don't give up! Matt

ok 3 things : 1) Make sure skin tones always match, it adds the overall look of the figure at the end 2) when painting lines use masking tape to keep the lines straight 3) dont use so much paint, you can always add more layers, but you cant take them off.

It is embarrassing. Criticism should not be censored. Why baby someone with how their custom looks when they come here for options? We all did start somewhere... but we didn't post any abominations that we made... If what we made sucked, we improved it. Not showed it off like it was something to be proud of.

Dude, you've posted on here enough and have heard enough people tell you COMBINE YOUR F'N POSTS! You have like four or five customs on the front page and everyone is saying the same damn thing. People are trying to help you with constructive criticism, so the least you could do is to follow the rules like everyone else does.

We all did start somewhere... but we didn't post any abominations that we made... If what we made sucked, we improved it. Not showed it off like it was something to be proud of. First off, I did give a few suggestions above on how he can improve his customs, and if he follows them, he should see improvement. This is by a loooooooong shot not the worst custom I've ever seen. Secondly, I agree with you, people should be honest and allowed to criticize, when you join this board and put yourself out there there's a chance you could be ripped a new one. Completely understandable, no problem. However, somebody saying "You suck" does nothing to help. I think that people should be honest, but being honest to the point where no help or constructive comments are offered is a little much, and clearly leads to people being discouraged. Third off, saying "we didn't post any abominations" is rather overgeneralizing. He said he's working on it, it's a work in progress, should have gone in the Customs Support Center but regardless.
